The curry was tasty, just wish it had a bit more coconut flavor since it was more avocadoey, but still really good! Prices were reasonable and the service was great. Our server was really attentive and friendly the whole time, even while dealing with a "Karen" nearby, which we noticed and appreciated. The place itself is really lovely, especially the floral garden, such a cute vibe. Only thing is it could be a little more spacious. We stopped by this restaurant while on a road trip down Highway 1. This is such a gem in the downtown Cambria. The garden outside is beautiful and there's a large area that's covered outdoors with plenty of tables for outdoor dining. I got the Skuna Bay BLT and all the ingredients were fresh and delicious. We tried the delicious fried calamari with lots of tentacles - yum! It could've used a bit more draining as pieces were still oily but otherwise tasty. Big enough to share 2-3 persons. I was semi full just sharing the dish with Hubby. He tried the Roghan Josh (lamb curry) and Thai green curry chicken. Both were good dishes but the Thai curry was a bit too spicy for me. The food at Robin's is some of the best in the area. We shared a crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer which was a generous portion. My husband had the mushroom risotto made with locally grown mushrooms. He enjoyed it very much. I had the braised short rib, which was fork tender, over a bed of delicious mashed potatoes. The service was attentive without being intrusive. They're mango gelato was really good I recommend trying. The prices were kinda expensive however it's California so I wouldn't expect low prices. The restaurant has a really nice fresh and Italy giving vibe. The building looks amazing outside and inside. I think if you're close by it's most definitely worth a try. read more

Friendly staff, beautiful outdoor setting (I remember indoor area being lovely, but it's been years since I've sat there because we now visit Cambria with our dog and sit on the patio). The patio is within a charming garden. We were seated next to a pear tree. The waitress said when her kids were little, she used to put the pears in her kids' lunches. Isn't that sweet? We had the beet salad (looks a bit messy but it's delicious), Peruvian chicken, and vegetable/ tofu Penang curry. Super flavorful. Curry had so much veg and tofu that I was too full to have dessert. I love this place so much! We ate in the covered patio area just as the sun came out, so we were lucky to get a table in the covered area. There were so many things on the menu that sounded good & our waitress was so helpful with making suggestions. We started with the roasted beet salad which ended up being the secret star of the meal. It was so amazing that if we didn't eat anything else, we would have been okay. For entrées, my husband got the burger. I didn't taste it, but he said it was excellent. I was torn between the lamb curry burrito or the enchiladas. Our server recommended the lamb curry but as a dish instead with naan on the side. It was such a great rec because I loved the meal so much that way. We finished with the pear & date sticky toffee, which was perfect. Not too sweet but also warm and nicely topped with vanilla ice cream. To drink, I got the blood orange Bellini (very tasty) & my husband got an IPA (I can't remember the name but he's been trying to find it ever since because he liked it so much). If you have a service dog due to a legally protected disability, DO NOT GO TO ROBIN'S TO EAT. Spend your money elsewhere. I recommended Robin's to a friend while they were visiting Cambria and they felt so uncomfortable due to the way the manager interacted with them for having a service dog. I'm so glad they chose to leave and ate at Linn's Restaurant right up the block. They shared they loved the food at Linn's and their service dog was very much welcomed. Way to go Linn's! We were walking by at around 8:30 or so tonight and my husband decided he wanted to grab some dessert if they were still open. They had just put out a sign that they were closed to walk-ins, but luckily for us the person in front (manager? host? I'm not sure) was so kind to say he could accommodate us coming in just for dessert. He fully reset a table for us and made sure to set us up somewhere close to the patio heaters. We ordered an affogato, the apple pear crisp, and a crème brûlée and WOW! All amazing. I work at a coffee shop and honestly, their espresso was waaaaay better than ours (lol!). The crème brûlée had such a nice crack and a lovely, almost slightly orange blossom-y flavor to it. The crisp was delicious as well but my husband devoured the majority so I can't weigh in too heavily there. He loved it, though! This was a great choice for our first night in Cambria. We went about 6 and without reservations. And the host was about to say it would be a long wait. He said they could seat us in the bar area in about 5 minutes but they had live entertainment with a charge of 8.00 per person. I felt that was very fair and to not have to wait. When we were seated the live music was going and pleasant . So the 8 and 9 year old boys and adults really enjoy it and was very relaxing after 8 hour drive. Now for the food we started with bread there was a charge per person but it was so worth it. Then the boys had butter noodles with parmesan cheese and split 8 oz filet that came with broccoli and mash potatoes . My daughter had the short ribs and I had ahi poke stack. For dessert the boys had scope of vanilla ice cream and daughter had peach crisp. Everything was exceptional ! I would go back again in Cambria . I truly love Robins Restaurant. We came here shortly after we got married just my husband and I, and came back last night with our Toddler for our 10th year wedding anniversary. What a special place, we're both vegan and the options are so wonderful. We had Robins Chow with tofu, the most perfect fries, and the enchiladas were incredible. The sweetest part was that my toddler was prepared to leave the sippy cup behind but we asked if they had any we could purchase and our server surprised us in the kindest way. I came here for my birthday in June and it was a pretty good experience. When we arrived, it was a little chaotic with the reservation that I had made, and they got me confused with another person which led to having too many dogs around. I specifically made the reservation contingent on bringing two dogs with me on the patio. about five minutes after we were seated the dogs had to go back into the car because there were about 13 other dogs out there which was causing chaos. That's why I'm giving four stars because if I specifically added the dogs to the reservation like they had asked, then they should be aware of that when letting other dogs in before me. The people around us before we put the dogs back in the car made comments on how it's less of a restaurant and more like a dog park. That's why I was upset because I specifically added them to the reservation like the restaurant had asked. Other than the dog issue (which was a disappointment for me on my birthday having to deal with the stress of checking on the dogs in the car going back back-and-forth) I enjoyed the ambience of the patio. They've done a really good job about making it like a secret garden. The lighting is phenomenal. The service was pretty good. My server was a little bit awkward but nothing to write home about. Again, not an ideal experience with the server for my birthday, but what can you do? No dessert was brought or anything to celebrate. The best part of the experience was the food. I can't complain about anything food wise. It's exactly the type of food I like to eat. We got the filet mignon and the Robin's chow and it was amazing. Presentation is also amazing at this restaurant. You can tell that the stuff in the kitchen really care. All in all, I would definitely come back I would just call ahead and confirm that there are not a bunch of dogs there if you plan to bring your dog. Maybe the service staff needs a little training there. I was traveling through and saw gluten free options at Robins. I called in the evening and was able to make a reservation for just 30 mins later. The employee who answered was super kind and helpful in answering my questions. when I arrived, I enjoyed looking at the amazing garden outside with gorgeous flowers and plants. I was seated rather quickly despite the rush, and immediately noticed the live tree vines snaking through the open air restaurant. I ordered the garlic truffle fries and the pork chop and while my server was kind, he seemed a little overwhelmed and slow to respond for requests. I had to ask another employee for water and it took my server quite a while to get my food out. When my food came out, it was delicious and so gorgeous. I ordered a gluten free cheesecake to go and it was beautiful and delicious later as well.
