Stopped in on the way to Hearst Castle. We wanted a place that had something for everyone, and we were all happy. My bride had the Thai chicken and it was delicious. I had the shrimp scampi special and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shrimp and how well it was prepared, the dish was fabulous. Desserts were awesome, and we almost did not get them, glad we did. Super cute venue with a great small town yet upscaled feel. Thank you for a great experience, fresh food, and tasty treats.
This was within walking distance of where we were staying so we decided to check it out. It's open air and there's greenery everywhere which was very nice, and as the evening became cooler they turned on their outdoor gas heaters which was much appreciated. We ordered the Salmon, the chicken, and the lamb curry. Each one of these dishes were absolutely delicious, they came out hot and in a timely manner. I was particularly impressed with the lamb curry because I was expecting it to be watered down, but it was not. It didn't have as much heat as my Dad's, but it tasted authentic. It took a ridiculously long time for anyone to approach our table once we were seated. Usually if servers are super busy or they get double seated or something, one of the managers will help them out by coming over and telling us someone's on their way, or they might get our drink order started, they do something to help mitigate the absence of acknowledgment from the server, but that did not happen. I observed the comings and going's of all the staff (managers, servers, bussers) that were passing us by and every single one of them averted their eyes. This is not what I expected from a place like this, and every moment that passed made the experience even more off putting. Just as I was deciding to get up and leave the restaurant, because it seemed like we were invisible, our server showed up. Just in time. From there forward we received short but adequate service.
Food was 5/5, service 4/5. So overall 4.5/5. Robin's is a great place with healthier, fresh, and unique menu items with an ambience to match the menu. Sitting out in the garden feels lovely and like you are tucked away (and the space heaters do their job). There were a lot of tasty sounding menu items and easily shared the salted beets and Thai green chicken. Both had wonderful flavor and were delicious; we were super happy with our order and would absolutely order those items again. Our server was not super attentive and did not come in to check on us during the meal. I would definitely go again when in Cambria and would recommend to others!
This restaurant is tucked away on a side street off Main Street. The decor in the inside and outside is lovely. I went by myself for lunch. I was slightly annoyed that they escorted several people to their tables before me even though I was there first. But once I was seated the awesome wait staff made up for it. The salmon bowl was very good. Everything tasted very fresh. I recommend this restaurant.
We were here in March a few years ago and liked it so much we decided to come again during our December visit. The place is even more charming during the holidays with the Christmas decorations and lights adorning the warm wood interior. The restaurant is housed in a cozy historic home built in 1935, and that vibes still lingers in the dining rooms and garden setting. We felt like we were dining in a piece of the town's story. The food reflects the culture of the central coast. Well executed, simple but with a global influence, comforting and fresh. On this visit, highlights included the filet mignon, cooked to a perfect medium rare and plated over mashed potatoes with a velvety demi glace sauce and mushrooms. The baby back ribs, which were tender with a wonderful savory glaze. The autumn salad was fresh with seasonal apples, squash, pomegranate, and feta mingling nicely together. For dessert we shared the pumpkin cheesecake which creamy not overly sweet and a graham crust that crumbled nicely together to the chew. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to beautiful Cambria. Happy Eating!
Was meeting up with some long time friends in Cambria and we decided to go to Robin's. We made a reservation online and arrived a bit early. They had a garden table for us, even though the reservation system said none were available. What a peaceful setting. The tables were spaced appropriately so that the guests could still have meaningful conversations without having to worry about being overheard. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and boy was I happy. The fries were amazing, wish there had been more since I had to pace myself while I ate my burger!! My friends enjoyed their meals, as well. The server refilled our waters in a timely manner, which is always appreciated. I will definitely come here again!!
We were so nervous about the wait but they fit us in very quickly. We ordered a side of baba ganoush...we could have drank it. Insane. I got the green chicken and it was superb. It was also so cute and romantic inside. The garden is also gorgeous. You can tell that whoever owns it cares very much about it.
One of the two must go food spots in Cambria IMO (besides hidden kitchen of course). I will caveat that Robin's international cuisine has a California fusion interpretation - a beef bulgogi here will not be the same as a Korean restaraunt in the Bay Area, but all of their food is well executed and absolutely delicious (from someone with snobby food taste buds). It's been a while since I visited so I was excited to try their refreshed lunch menu. I ordered the beef bulgogi bowl, which came with hearty black rice, tender & juicy beef, and pickled cabbage and other vegetable toppings. It hit the spot! My aunt reported the ahi tuna poke bowl was delicious as well. Logistics: - Indoor seating, covered heated patio seating, and gorgeous outdoor garden seating - Street parking in front or public free lot around the corner - Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available
I was in town for the holiday market and this restaurant is conveniently located next to the shuttle pick up area. The restaurant is super cute! Despite the cold, we brave the outside patio since the heaters kept us nice and warm. We enjoyed a quick dinner for 3. We got the short rib, filet mignon, and meze platter. We really enjoyed all 3 items. Great fresh flavor for the price point. Service was friendly and loved that they accommodated to our request to place our order quickly to get to the holiday lights event.
This was a great choice for our first night in Cambria. We went about 6 and without reservations. And the host was about to say it would be a long wait. He said they could seat us in the bar area in about 5 minutes but they had live entertainment with a charge of 8.00 per person. I felt that was very fair and to not have to wait. When we were seated the live music was going and pleasant . So the 8 and 9 year old boys and adults really enjoy it and was very relaxing after 8 hour drive. Now for the food we started with bread there was a charge per person but it was so worth it. Then the boys had butter noodles with parmesan cheese and split 8 oz filet that came with broccoli and mash potatoes . My daughter had the short ribs and I had ahi poke stack. For dessert the boys had scope of vanilla ice cream and daughter had peach crisp. Everything was exceptional ! I would go back again in Cambria . We were also seated in the garden area and it was very lovely with the plants and not cold because of the heaters. Have to say again the music was also very good!

We ate here yesterday ( Saturday 10/26). We originally tried to eat at Linn's first but they weren't serving dinner yet so we decided to try here. We sat outside and the garden was beautiful. The table and chairs were not the most comfortable and tables are a bit close together. Staff- our waitress was exceptional (Tiara) and there were 2 other workers who were actively refilling water and clearing plates Food and drink were incredibly flavorful. I loved my pumpkin spice cider (alcoholic). The Thai green curry was delicious, but a small serving. My wife's noodles with prawns was pretty good. We ended with a wonderful piece of carrot cake. My husband and I decided to stop by this restaurant for dinner, and we're so glad we did! For food we ordered the Robin's Salmon Bisque, Ahi Poke Nachos, and the Sweet Trio for dessert (Vanilla crème brulee, chocolate torte, and house made sorbet). Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The drinks we tried were the Davy Brown Ale, Old Rasputin, and a Margarita. We enjoyed all of the drinks as well. We'd definitely order all of these items again! All of the staff were great, especially our server. He was very polite, helpful, gave good recommendations, and brought everything out quickly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and gives fairytale garden vibes. The interior has a relaxing ambiance and is very cozy. There's also a fair amount of seating. The food was amazing, I thought the menu had a wide variety of options and I literally couldn't decide. We got the spring roll appetizer, it was very good. I opted for the filet mignon for my b-day dinner, and my husband had the Moqueca, which is a seafood stew. It was so good (I was lucky enough to try some). Then they brought out a sundae for me and we ordered cappuccinos. We went on a Monday evening when there was live music and that was fun. It was delicious, entertaining, really good service by all staff, and we are already talking about when we go back. read more

We had such a great lunch on Monday (she had the vegetable quiche, I had the chicken club), we came back on Tuesday for dinner (she had the salmon bisque, I had the braised short ribs). I've been to Cambria dozens of times and have always wanted to visit Robins. We finally were able to find a time and with our dog in tow. They are dog friendly on the patio, but know that it can be a tight space so you'll need to keep your pet on tight leash. We were lucky enough to get a corner spot and our dog had plenty of space. But I noticed some spots did not. Reservations can be made online, which is great. I love being able to do this on my own time and without calling. We arrived for dinner a little early and found plenty of parking in the public lot just behind the restaurant. It was quite convenient. We were guided to our table and were pleasantly surprised with the number of heaters on the patio. We were quite toasty and comfortable. The menu is pretty straightforward American but with a few twists, which included Thai Green Chicken, Moqueca, and Roghan Josh. We ordered the calamari and brussel sprouts to start. The calamari was good, even though I'm typically not a big fan of calamari. But the brussel sprouts were absolutely amazing. Made with bacon, blue cheese, and garnished with organic apples and sweet cream vinaigrette - it will go down as one of my favorite dishes of all time! By the time dinner arrived, we were nearly stuffed. I opted for the soup and my partner ordered the Roghan Josh - a delicious lamb curry. It had plenty of spice and great flavor, albeit lacking in heat. Our server was kind and polite, but things seemed quite rushed. We would definitely return though. read more

I love this place so much! We ate in the covered patio area just as the sun came out, so we were lucky to get a table in the covered area. There were so many things on the menu that sounded good & our waitress was so helpful with making suggestions. We started with the roasted beet salad which ended up being the secret star of the meal. It was so amazing that if we didn't eat anything else, we would have been okay. For entrées, my husband got the burger. I didn't taste it, but he said it was excellent. I was torn between the lamb curry burrito or the enchiladas. Our server recommended the lamb curry but as a dish instead with naan on the side. It was such a great rec because I loved the meal so much that way. We finished with the pear & date sticky toffee, which was perfect. Not too sweet but also warm and nicely topped with vanilla ice cream. To drink, I got the blood orange Bellini (very tasty) & my husband got an IPA (I can't remember the name but he's been trying to find it ever since because he liked it so much). It was one of the best meals of our trip. Would highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area. read more

Love the ambiance of this restaurant.It has a beautiful nature decor. As if the outdoor patio wasn't beautiful enough with planters bursting with booms of vibrant color's the semi outdoor, upper patio feels like you are sitting inside a tree. Such a beautiful natural environment to relax and enjoy a meal in. You can feel and smell the fresh cambria ocean air. The fish tacos were very good. Served with a mango salsa. And the fries were done to perfection. Definitely recommend eating here when in cambria. read more
I stayed in Cambria for one night and stopped in to Robins Restaurant for a glass of wine and small bite. The hummus and Muhammara were divine! My server was extra attentive because I was dining alone. I appreciate that level of service as I do enjoy dining alone. This spot is a hidden treasure. read more

Dinner at Robin's Restaurant was one of my favorite parts of a recent stay in Cambria. Service was wonderful and I recommend making a reservation, even mid-week. The food was delicious, especially the meze platter and lamb rogan josh. Sitting inside was quite dark but ralxing by the gas fireplace. Be sure to check out the garden during your visit, it's very pretty. Outdoor seating has gas heaters to keep you warm. read more

We had lunch here with friends who recommended it based on a previous visit. From the outside garden to the two indoor dining options and garden dining options, this restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. And the food was delicious! I had the falafel bowl with quinoa tabouleh, lemon cilantro hummus, pickled veggies, olives, tahini garlic dressing, grilled naan. Hubby had the salmon BLT which was unique and delicious! He and a friend had a Chai Latte which was creamy and frothy as well as artistically presented. Friend had the salmon bowl with forbidden black rice which she loved. No room for dessert sadly. Service was friendly and attentive. When we asked her to take our photo of friends we only get a chance to see every few years, not only did she agree with a smile, she suggested we move to the garden to take it. Why can't ALL restaurants be like THIS place? Is it really that difficult to make food look beautiful and taste even better than it looks? Well, obviously, we all search the world for stellar meals, but ROBIN'S RESTAURANT was truly out of this world !! Everything we ate, we absolutely loved... and... they even allowed us to bring our little dog. Robin's has a beautiful and large covered patio with lots of pretty flowers and foliage amid the well-spaced seating, which is where we sat with our little pooch. I was super impressed with how pretty and lush the patio is. They even have an outdoor bathroom for patio guests if one is too lazy to go inside. (I was equally impressed with that.) On to the food, though... We each ordered an appetizer... Burrata and Arugula salad - stone fruit (peaches drizzled with balsamic reduction), cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, manchego cheese, basil vinaigrette, sourdough croutons. Amazing Chicken Satay - served with peanut sauce, and spicy pickled cucumber salad. The peanut sauce was more diced peanuts with a minute amount of liquid. Not really a sauce... more like a topping. Great flavor, though. Robin's Salmon Bisque - the winner of appetizers. Flavor abounding. Outstanding For our entrees, we ordered... Northern Indian Lamb Burrito - spiced lamb curry, basmati rice, potato, spinach, tomatoes, yogurt, pineapple chutney, and mint chutney in a spinach wrap. More sweet than savory... great flavors, but I wouldn't have wanted to have so much sweetness for a lunch entree. Grilled Chicken Club - chicken, roasted Anaheim chili, avocado, tomato, lettuce, sambal aioli, on ciabatta bun with French fries. Slightly spicy, but really good flavors. Salmon BLT - salmon with bacon, pickled red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, caper-herb aioli on a ciabatta bun with fries. And for dessert, we tried.... Chocolate Chip Mousse Cake - oreo cookie crust, mango coulis, whipped cream. Very decadent and rich. Stone Fruit (Peach) Crisp - served warm with vanilla ice cream. Great buttery, cinnamon-y crisp topping. This restaurant is VERY popular and with good reason. Obviously, I recommend dining here... for MANY reasons, but if I could make one helpful suggestion, I recommend that you MAKE A RESERVATION !!!!!!! We saw so many people waiting to get in, and waiting a long time at that. Just make a reservation, and you could avoid the waiting. Top line: food is fresh, delicious and unpretentious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We came for dinner after a bad experience at Brydge and were so grateful for a good meal. We came back the next day for brunch on the way out of town. The restaurant was busy but high functioning. The menu had a decent variety and everything we ordered was good. The servers were helpful when navigating gluten free requests on the menu. The food was high quality and decently priced for the location. The dining room is beautiful and cozy. This place will be a staple any time we are back in Cambria. read more

Overall amazing. It was our first dinner as husband and wife after eloping in the area and will remain such a great memory for our special day. (We didn't announce it.) there was a wait for patio seating but we were more than happy to sit inside. Very cute near a window and the fireplace. Our server helped us decide on wine with our entree choices & we were both impressed. I had the Peruvian chicken (omg! Soo delicious) & my husband had the Thai green chicken. It wasn't his favorite but it was still good. As far as the Peruvian chicken, the flavors and textures come together perfectly. I want to go back just to have this meal again. Now for the dessert, another reason to go back, we had the 3 small plates of Creme brûlée, chocolate torte & a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Mouth watering. Cozy little family owned restaurant in the heart of quaint Cambria! Their menu is surprisingly unique, all the food I tried was fantastic, staff friendly and attentive, and the vibe is so fun - I felt like I was eating in a chic tree house! For starters my server recommended I try their famous salmon bisque - how could I resist?? It was so comforting and savory with generous chunks of salmon filling the creamy broth - I can see why it's a crowd favorite - I'd definitely get this again. But the star for me was the Short Rib Bulgogi Rice Bowl - I was intrigued by the menu description when it said "forbidden rice". I'm a somewhat adventurous eater so I just had to try that haha - and it was utterly divine!! The pieces of short rib were so tender and flavorful - and the forbidden rice was such an interesting accompaniment. It's a black rice with a complex flavor and I loved it. Highly recommend! Prices are a tad high but on par with other restaurants in the area and the quality is there for sure. The staff are lovely - I had a great experience and will definitely return on my next visit! They have indoor seating as well as a nice patio. Parking is all street parking in the town but it's very walkable and fun. read more

Fabulous. Everything about this place. Is it expensive? Yes. But if you only go to Cambria once year for vacation as we do, splurge on lunch or dinner here. I recommend sitting outside for lunch. Just beautiful. I highly recommend the Veggie Caprese...goddamn. And the fries that came with it? Goddamn. I'll be thinking about that sandwich until NEXT June! read more

Came here with my husband and two kids. The seasonal peppermint hot chocolate was a hit along with the French toast that had wonderful lemon curd. My husband and I ordered the shakshuka and the short rib hash. They were both delicious and we highly recommend both dishes. The flavor is memorable Friendly staff and the atmosphere is unique and gives quintessential coastal vibes. Staff is friendly and environment is clean. read more

If you're visiting Cambria for the first time like I was this weekend you HAVE to try Robin's!! You have the choice of sitting on the heated patio/garden or inside in the atrium which is where we sat. It was so beautiful and felt like I was in a fairytale lane! We had a reservation and were seated immediately but the restaurant wasn't super busy so I wouldn't expect a wait if we didn't have a reservation. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and on top of all these wonderful things the food was incredible!! My friend ordered the Indian lamb burrito and I had the bulgogi bowl which were both delicious. They also have parking in a separate lot around the corner. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Finally came to Cambria just to do a little shopping and have lunch there. I have never eaten in Cambria. It was about time! Decided on Robins as my first restaurant. Did not disappoint! Lovely atmosphere, gardens surrounding you, heaters everywhere, relaxed. The food was excellent. Shared 3 small plates and garlic bread. Everything was fresh and delicious. Amazing flavors in the meze spread. Could eat that white bean hummus till I exploded. Good selection of wine too! Service was very friendly. A great experience overall. Yep. You only get one chance to make a first impression. And the woman working the hostess stand on that Saturday afternoon we came in for a drink blew it. Big time. Dopey is what it was. We're there at the hostess stand with a line of 6 or so behind us. Woman walks up and we ask if there's a patio or somewhere we can sit outdoors to enjoy a cold drink. Her immediate reply silenced us - and the 6 standing behind us..."No. We don't have anything like that." It SEEMED like she was angling to get us to eat a meal / and we only wanted a paltry drink. Just making an assumption but, man, was that rude. It's too bad too because there were three restaurants that most of the folks around town we spoke with recommended: Madeline's, The Sea Chest and this joint. We don't care how good your food supposedly is, and we'll never know. Sorry...you really do only get one chance to make that first impression. read more

Nestled in downtown Cambria, this restaurant is enchanting. As soon as you walk in the outdoor seating area you're surrounded with is covered in beautiful greenery and so many beautiful flowers in bloom. I felt like I was in a movie. The service was great, from the host to the server. We were so warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Such a breath of fresh air, I feel like it's almost impossible to get good service in the city now. The food was delicious, we started with the poke nachos, my husband got the pork chop special, and I got a bowl of the famous salmon bisque with a side of the garlic bread (which ended up being my favorite part of the meal). Our server also gave us a complimentary dessert even though it was already late, because he knew we were celebrating. And on top of that, this place is dog friendly. Our pup was knocked out from the days activities so I am not sure if they do a dog menu or water bowls. We will definitely visit again! Thank you for the great experience. read more

My wife and I have been dining at Robin's for over 28 years. It's my wife's go-to place for lunch in Cambria, especially when meeting friends for a meal. She's been ordering their salmon bisque as takeout for as long as I can remember. It's very good!!! Today, we had a late lunch there while our dog, Izzy, was at the veterinary clinic. Our waiter, Kyle, was very attentive and cordial and quickly took our drink order while we decided on our menu choices. My wife was going to get the burger but asked about the catch of the day fish tacos. Kyle's description of the dish convinced her to order that. I chose the special pasta of the day. My wife was extremely pleased with her tacos and they were plated beautifully. As Kyle said, it's the most photogenic item on the menu. He was right. (See below) My pasta was very tasty and satisfying. Robin's is basically a low key institution in Cambria. The location is an old house with several indoor tables and two large heated patios. The garden patio is landscaped elegantly and is home to numerous hummingbirds. It's laid back and the menu has something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoy Robin's and will continue to do so in years to come. read more

Absolutely fabulous! Made reservations online from the road and we were seated as soon as we arrived! It was quite busy but our waitress Tinker T took really good care of us even with a large party that she was helping at the same time! I had the butternut squash enchiladas and they were fabulous! My husband had the poke bowl and really enjoyed it-we shared an apple and pear caramel crisp that was to die for! This is an absolute must stop whenever we are in Cambria! Many! This is a great spot for vegans and vegetarians. I very much recommend the Robin's Chow, and the spring rolls.

If you sit outside you can bring your dog tables are kind of close together so if it's crowded a small dog would be better
Is Robin's dog friendly?
Yes, we are. We have a lovely garden seating area. However, when we have a private event in our garen there will not be seating for pets so best to check if you are coming on the weekend. Mostly the events are Friday night & saturday.
