Unfortunately, their sandwiches are about the same - at least the one I try. I ordered a turkey on a roll with lettuce, cheese, and mayo. The bread was still SO DRY that I couldn't like the sandwich at all. I did order a small pizza and a hotdog. These are new to the menu since I was there last. After waiting an incredibly long amount of time to get my order, I was at least happy with the pizza and hot dog. Glad to have a hot dog option next to the theatre so I can sneak one in!! I ordered extra cheese on the pizza but I didn't need to. I am happy to upgrade my star rating to 3-stars for those two new items. I am picky about the bread for my sandwiches and honestly the only one I liked was when you had the sliced wheat bread option available one day as a fluke. I will go to Mr. Pickles for my sandwiches from now on, but I might stop in for a pizza or a dog.

The lot is compact and requires a few 3 pt turns to maneuver about. So as I stepped into the joint. The cashier gave us a sincere welcome. Having told her it's our first time here, she let us know that we order and pay at the counter with the food brought out to us and there is no assigned seating. I asked what's their best selling hot sandwich. She advised to get a French Dip. So I did. Drumroll please.... unfortunately the sandwich fell flat. The roast beef was flavorless and dry. The plate came out without the au jus. I didn't notice at first and had to go back to the counter to ask for it. But aw shucks, the au jus turned out to be lackluster as well. Lacking distinct flavor. Both the sandwich and au jus temp was lukewarm. Disappointing. Could it have been an "off day"?! Anomaly?! Let's talk about the view! Impressive. The interior dining room diners can get the same great views of the harbor, ocean, the Morro Bay as the patio diners. We scored an outside table. At first, I was extremely concerned with the busy body seagulls. But it wasn't an issue. They stayed clear. So the scenery did lessen the disappoint of the sandwich. And from the reviews, it seems the chow-da and fish n chips were worth looking into more so than the carved meats. Next time.

I also had a side of house made slaw and seasoned flat fries. The slaw has apples and a light vinaigrette that goes nicely with the rich roll. The fries are super crispy onthe outside and soft inside. I've never had fries like these anywhere else and I will be dreaming about them. This cute food truck is located near the water along the Embarcadero. There is plenty of outdoor seating (but not much shade). The people who run the truck are super friendly and inviting. We ordered that and ribs. First, the good: the homemade potato chips are excellent. The BBQ sauce isn't bad. Now that we are done with that, down to the reality of the situation. I should have known better. We had been staying in a hotel not a hundred yards away for two days and hadn't smelled any smoke or BBQ. When we got back to our hotel room, we opened the boxes. Plating was attractive. The chips are good. A small side note. There is a gas station near my parents' house (North Fork Minit Mart if you are ever interested in visiting the geographic center of California) that purchases pre-seasoned ribs from Costco and cooks them in a crock pot full of sauce.
