He operates under different names, including Horizon Appliance Repair, Rocket Appliance and Pro Clean. All businesses are flagged on BBB and he is renowned for taking peoples money, then not doing the job and all of a sudden becomes difficult to get in touch with. He charged $830 on my credit card for services and parts he didn't perform, and now all of a sudden the tech is delayed, he can't come out, excuse after excuse - a week later and no complete radio silence. Regret not looking at reviews.. Came to look at washer..quoted 485 to replace bearing.. Charged 85 for service call. Seems like they intentionally quote unreasonable charge to fix it so they can get your 85 and run without actually working. Live and learn. read more

Travis is a con man. This is the 3rd company he owns that I am aware of that fronts a bogus repair service. See Horizon Appliances on Yelp for the last one and you will see the exact same reviews. He comes to your home, does a quick assessment. Asks for $ up front to order parts. He will lead you on for a couple of weeks to make sure it is harder to get $ back. I've reported him to Hays & Williamson County Sheriffs and they can't do anything. Yelp won't remove him. BBB can't keep up with him. He just continues to steal. read more

We needed someone to come out that day to do the repair. Our kids were sick and we couldn't pass on doing that Laundry. We were so thankful that they responded quickly, were able to come out that day, AND that they upgraded the broken part for a longer lasting performance. Had a gas leak in our range and the ice-maker out in the freezer. They returned the call promptly, came the next day, diagnosed the problems, ordered the parts and fixed them both at a low price. I'll definitely call them for any future appliance issues. read more

I called Rocket Appliance Repair to make an appointment for the repair of my washer. The appointment was for two days later. Thirty minutes before that appointment, I was notified that the repair person had a family emergency. I rescheduled for two days later. On that day, my window of time for my appointment was from 1:00-3:00. At 2:30, I tried to reach the repair person. No response. Then, I tried twice to reach the office. I was told they would let me know when the repair person would come. There was no follow up call from them. At 4:00, I had to leave for an appointment. At 4:20, I received a text saying that the man would come look at my washer "this afternoon." When I told him that I had already left my house (after waiting three hours), I received no other texts. Five days later, and I still haven't heard from the repair person nor the office. I would have given a "0" if I could have. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They are crooks. Took a "deposit" for parts and never came back. I was always the one to follow up. Finally, asked for my money back and never got it. Do not use them. If you look carefully at their business/website etc, it's fake. Plus, they are under another business called Horizon Service. His name is Travis. The first time they came out to look at our refrigerator, they came out as promised. They said we needed a part to fix our icemaker. We didn't hear from them for a couple weeks, then they called to let us know our part came in. (we didn't even know they ordered one) So the technican sets up an appointment for lat Thursday between 8:30 and 11:00. at 11:30, I call because he never showed up. I was told he was running behind. Tomorrow will be a week since they were supposed to come fix my ice maker. They never called back to reschedule, I have not heard anything from them. This company is unprofessional. I asked them to fix my washer. After paying them $187 for a part and labor the first load I did was still soaking wet so the problem was not fixed with my washer. I called them back to see if they can come to look at it again. This time instead of sending the repair man Ryan I get his boss. He comes in looks at my washer and now tells me that the motor isn't working. Then they send me Ryan again and are now telling me that my motor isn't the problem that it is the control board. So now they want to charge me another $233 to get this other part but then Ryan tells me if I just want to go ahead and get a new washer from home depot that they are having a sale and I can call them back telling them if I want them to come back and fix my washer. Do not call these people. I needed a lid locking switch for my GE washer. I should have know something was wrong when the technician pulled up in a car instead of a van. He quoted me $328.00 for the lid switch because it was a difficult repair. I bought an OEM switch on line for $28.00, watched YouTube and installed it in 5 minutes. Didn't have to disassemble anything. Figures to be $2500 per hour labor. read more

Do not use this company . Travis Woelfel and Rocket Appliance are not to be trusted. On June 13th the fan in my LG fridge started making a loud noise, so I called Rocket Appliance to come and repair it . A tech came out but said we needed a part.He charged me $452.39 and told me the part would arrive in a few days . After he left, the fridge developed an error code which couldn't be cleared . It meant I had no water or ice and the freezer defrosted so I had to put the contents in the trash.my fridge was working before this tech came out !!! I heard nothing from them , so I called them Monday 24th . I spoke to Travis, the owner who said his computer system was down and said he would call me back . He didn't so I called again on Tuesday 25th. I was told that the part would be in on Thursday so they would come out Friday 28th between 2pm and 5pm. Waited at home and nobody had arrived by 4.45 , so I called to find out if someone was on the way . No one answered so I left message. Travis called back 20 mins later and said both he and his technician were 'under the weather' . I felt that he should have called to let me know he wasn't coming as I had wasted an afternoon waiting for them to arrive. Travis said his tech would come Monday 1st July. The tech did come but had ordered wrong part so needed to order another . He said it would be a week. I didn't receive any communication from him so on July 10th I called for an update . I was told that the part might be in by Friday 12 th, and if it was they would come out . I called Friday lunchtime to see if part was in, but it hadn't arrived yet , but if it did they would call me and come out . By Wed 17th , I had still not heard anything so I called again . I was told that the part had arrived so they would come out on Thursday 18th between 3 and 5pm. Once again no one had arrived or called by 4.45 so I called Travis. Again no answer so I left a message complaining about the length of time it had taken so far (5 weeks). I also asked whether he still intended to repair my fridge or whether this was a scam . He called back and said he was on his way from Pflugerville and would arrive in 30 mins. He assured me he was running a legitimate business .5 minutes later I got a text saying he had forgotten to put the part on his truck and would have to go to Georgetown to pick it up . I text back that I was supposed to be somewhere at 6.45 and asked when he would be here. No response. I called 5 times with no response, and eventually left a message asking for a refund of $452.39 as he obviously had no intention of repairing my fridge.I have not received a refund to date. Over the past 5 weeks there have been 10 or so other people who have reviewed Rocket Appliance Repair and have shared the same experience as me. I feel that at best Travis Woelfel is an incompetent businessman , at worse he is a fraud and a thief. read more

I don't even think this company deserves 1 star. They ask for money up front to buy parts. Once they have your money there will be excuse after excuse, week after week, why the right part wasn't shipped or why they can't make their scheduled appointment to fix your appliance. Eventually, you will never hear from them again. They take your money and don't fix your appliance. This company is a fraud. read more
