Picked up Waialua Hawaiian soda for my restrnt, and decided to have lunch there also. Previously had the double cheeseburger w/ bacon and fries was at least a five napkin lunch!!! Decided to try the New York burger today! What can I say but another winner!!! The pastrami was flavorful and the burger juicy! Cole slaw was spot on also. The owner was from Hawaii also Filipino descent very nice lady. Think this going to be my to go burger place. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality you are getting. I tend to enjoy eating at local businesses such as this one. As my fourth time going to Rocket Burger & Subs every time I have, had a new meal to enjoy. Today, I had a Cali Burger with a side of Chili Cheese Fries. The first bite of my burger was delicious, so many flavors, as well as the natural taste you do not get anywhere else. To top it all off as soon as I took a bite of my fries, I could actually taste a flavorful source of Chili. I guess if you go for the 1000 selections of soda its a cool place but the food is ehhh, not so good. Ordered a gyro and the meat was terrible and not from a spit. The kids working were nice and friendly and living in the area I wanted to like this place, however the food is pretty bad. We also tried a burger which was no better than a whopper and the Chicago dog? These folks clearly have never been to Chicago. It is right by the High School and I think that may be their audience because as an adult I would not eat their food. Sorry guys, I wanted you to do well being from the area. read more

I have taken my class of middle schoolers here every May for the last 5 years. We live up in Prescott and I take them to Castles N Coasters then to Rocket Burger. My kids love it. They go above and beyond accommodating us and getting our food out quickly and correctly. I often feel bad because we take over the entire restaurant but they always welcome us back year after year. We stopped into the soda shop next door which is also owned by the same people. There selection of soda was very extensive. We saw different sodas from all over the country and the world. After purchasing a few bottles we went next door to grab lunch. We had just a regular burger and a gyro. Both were delicious and very well cooked. The service was very friendly and help explain some of the items on the menu. The only reason it didn't get five stars from me is because the place looks pretty ran down. Someone consider it a hole in the wall. It's really just preference. The food is totally worth it. read more

Burgers are great. My choice has always been a top notch burger. My girlfriend's hasn't been so lucky. The coleslaw is sometimes too runny and it left a pool at the bottom of her burger container. The sauce is pretty thick, but I'm always a no sauce guy. The place is cheap enough to try out burgers regularly though. Can't wait to try one rocket style. read more

Went to Rocket Burger tonight and Jesse ( not sure if that's his correct spelling) but the last few times we were in he waited in us and he's always very friendly and really knows the menu well! Great place, great food, you never have to wait long for your food to arrive! The only thing is the hamburger buns do tend to fall apart while your eating, but otherwise you won't be disappointed stopping in here to eat! read more

There is no real way to say this but........ROCKET BURGER IS ONE OF THE BEST BURGER PLACES IN AZ! Hands down the best burger there has to be the New Yorker! It has a patty, pastrami, cole slaw, and rocket sauce! I didn't even know a burger could be that good! The fries and onion rings are great too, i would not call them the best but they are enjoyable! If you like to try different kinds of soda this is the place to go! They have any kind of bottled soda you can think of! Every time i have gone i have gotten a new soda i have never heard of before! The management there is great! A friend of mine got a bottled soda and didn't like it, they saw him about to throw it away and they said just to grab another soda free of charge! The workers there are really cool! I recommend this place to any one that is a burger lover! i live in Mesa and anytime i am out by Rocket Burger i will go out of my way to stop in! Ok...I was so excited to eat here, from out of town and was sold by all the great posts and photos!! But it was one of the worst meals of my life. We enjoyed the sodas and bought 6. We ordered: New York burger, Mexican burger, Chicago dog, chili cheese dog, fried mushrooms. The hot dog buns were very hard, both me and my brother got a couple bits into our burgers and were almost completely turned off and couldn't eat another bit. The hot dogs were barely enjoyable as well... maybe the burger was so bad it made everything taste bad. Mushrooms were ok. We did take our food togo, but I wouldn't expect it to ruin the food this much. Very disappointed read more

I arrived here with my beau before a dinner rush. We both got the bacon cheeseburger and loved it! He rated it a 7.8/10 on the fast burger scale and i rated it a 7. It was messy, it had good fresh lettuce and tomatoes, everything a good burger should be and have in my opinion The bottled soda was fun to look through. We both are fans of huckleberry so we got different huckleberry sodas, very fun. Price was very reasonable for a good thick burger. read more

I have dined twice for their sandwiches, and they are average at best. Haven't sampled their hot dogs or hamburgers yet, maybe that is their strong point. However, they have a HUGE selection of bottled pop. And they have FAYGO, in glass bottles made with cane sugar. Excellent! If you haven't had faygo go and try a bottle. read more

This place is amazing! Don't let this rough looking little shopping plaza scare you off because inside the shop is some of the tastiest food in this part of town. The Chili Cheese Fries are a must! The "Rocket Burger" is a steal, imagine 3 burger patties with cheese and all the fixin's on a sub roll for 6 bucks (makes the $6 burger at Carl's Jr. look like child's play). If you want something spicy ask for the "Thunder Bird", a buffalo chicken sub with bacon, ranch or blue cheese, and the optional fresh jalapeños. And if all of that is not enough to make you want to go these guys stock an insane amount of rare sodas that you will not find just any where. I think they had about 12 kinds of root beer! 2 weeks ago my bf and I were discussing Sonic and their slushies. That prompted a conversation about "Slush Puppie" drinks that I grew up with back in Tennessee. I loved the lemon/lime ones that they used to sell at the local corner store. That prompted me to Google to see if anyone sold them now and in Phoenix. To my surprise Rocket Burger popped up! We decided to check them out as they also have over 300 sodas for sale some that are hard to find. I let out a child like squeal when we walked it. There it was, glowing like an angel!! SLUSH PUPPIES!!!!! I purchased the biggest size they had and it was as good as I remember as a child. The owner, Steve was very nice and we chatted him and his counter guys up for a bit. We took a look at their menu. WOW is all I can say. So many options. We went for the Double Bacon Cheese burger, fried mushrooms (with cornmeal). Absolutely delicious. The burger was tasty, flavorful and the bun toasted to perfection. The mushrooms were divine! Best outside of Bun Huggers up in Flagstaff. I would highly recommend this place. If you love vintage soda pop, a great burger and Slush Puppies check them out. We ended up ordering them for takeout last Friday night. My bf had the gyro burger and we ordered the french fries. I had the BCB again. Once again a great meal!! Will be returning over, and over again.. read more
