    Rockin' Shrimp Plate
    Gary Q.

This review is for only 1 meal, so keep that in mind. I want to try the seafood boil next, so the review may change. First: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music sucks. I'm not the demographic they're shooting for[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is sports bar meets tuna boat captain on his way to karaoke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food seems to be part Cajun, part Thai. There's some fusion happening here that has the potential to be interesting. What we had: Pot stickers. Good flavor, but safe. The dipping sauce was a little anemic, but didn't hurt. Rockin' Shrimp plate. Spicy, but not hot. Intense flavor, but the spice coating was a little gritty. Lots of shrimp. Little else. That's not a bad thing. The overall flavor was pleasantly different. It's interesting enough to come back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]First time eating here and the atmosphere is definitely interesting. It's very quiet, decor is crab boat meets Jackie Chan[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. But the food was excellent. I had the rockin Cajun shrimp plate and my husband had the rockin Cajun shrimp pasta with sausage. Huge portions and very flavorful. I'd skip the appetizer of Cajun fries next time. Service was also excellent. I would rerun and do recommend.

Only servers, uninterested in helping customers

Food was good, as usual.. but management really needs to do something about the servers. If you had servers who actually served and attended to guests, perhaps you may have more customers... I am in the service industry and although food was great, I would never return to this location... I'd drive to the 82nd location so I'm not needing to ask for a refill for water, beer, gloves, or extra silverware. Please take the opportunity to train these younger gals.. service can make or break it and for living half a mile away, I would avoid this location.

We went here for my sister's birthday. This was our first time here. We got the seafood mini pot and beef pot. An order of Japanese miso pot and a honey chicken bowl. All the bowls came with either an order of vermicelli or rice. The honey chicken bowl was quite delicious. It came with an order of rice. Eachpot came with napa and corn and mushrooms. It was pretty good. Probably better in winter months versus 95 degrees weather. The seafood pot was good. Just need to wait until the fire simmer down a bit on the hot pot. My seafood pot had 3 big shrimp in shell, 2 calamari, 1 small clam, and 2 mussels. 1 stuffed fishball which was very tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A very low-key restaurant. Atmosphere was very nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Newer location. But taste is spot on! The crew here is super friendly! Their dinning area seats a lot! Not too much of a romantic place. However, if you've been on a few already, want a more relaxed and fun vibe. Check this place out. The longest wait time I've had was about 10 mins. Not too bad for seafood boil.

Ordered the Rockin' Combo Bag A. Not bad except the sauce is more sweet. I like it more salty and savory, just personal preference. I like how they let me substitute sausage with something else. Other places would not let you substitute.

Right now Captain's Galley is hidden behind a newly arrived red psychedelic-painted Mexican food truck. The food is as delicious as ever. Fried but not greasy, no old oil taste. My usual order is fish, shrimp and clams, chips instead of fries. All made fresh to order. The chips are to die for, fried just right. The breading in the clams, shrimp and fish has just the right amount of seasoning. They are so not greasy that I can eat them all as finger food and wiping my fingers off on a napkin doesn't leave greasy streaks. All are served with a little coleslaw, generous amounts of cocktail sauce, a spicy but not too much so dipping sauce, and the best tarter sauce I ever had in my life. I found something new to make me happy. They have delicious fish tacos! Before trying these I had fast food fish tacos that were more crunchy breading than fish. Captain's Galley brings the fish! Perfectly seasoned fish with toppings in proportion and a nice drizzle of sauce. Now when I go back it's a tough decision as to what to get. If you ever in your life liked New England clam chowder, get yourself on over to Captain's Galley for theirs. I've had New England clam chowder many times in New England and this is so much better! It comes with oyster crackers. This clam chowder is fresh enough that it can survive 2 days in the refrigerator and still be delicious.

We just walked over to the door. All ready, I didn't like entering with a loud music, I asked to be seated where it's quieter. She said: she'll turn it down. It didn't seem like the music any quieter, so hubby asked her again, and she said: someone may have turned it back up, she would lower it again. The music did get quiet. (There were small children at the time). We ordered from extensive menu. I chose the Empanada de Camaron: 4 fried turnover Empanada stuffed with cheese, shrimp, and vegetable sofrito (mixed with aromatic ingredients then sautéed), accompanied with Mexican sauce. Hubby picked the Chile Relleno: Poblano chili pepper, stuffed with mixed cheese and potato, battered in whipped egg then deep-fried to a golden brown and bathed in delicious tomato sauce. Both were delicious! The relleno was served with rice pilaf with mixed vegetable, he said he didn't care too much for that. I only ate only one of my empanada, because I was filling up with my chips & enjoying my salsa, but I wasn't really hungry. I took the rest home, for later. I love the sauce! I told Adriana, and she said: Oh! You didn't want that? I tried to tell her: I'd like it to go. (I have a feeling we're having problem communicating, she's very nice, though). The service: We were talked to by 4-5 different servers who asked us how we were doing. One: I asked if I could have mild salsa sauce, and she said: No, those were the choices they all have. A few minutes later, I asked a bus boy, but he asked someone else (who spoke English), and he - Alexander - he delivered a warm salsa to our table. He came back again, to ask how it was. The 5th girl who showed up at our table, mentioned to her about our anniversary. Towards the end, we did get a complimentary flan (thank you), but both of our water glass were empty, and we didn't get a refill, we're done. The restroom were clean, and I love the decor of the restaurant, specially the fresh flowers on each table.

So much art to look at, curiosities tucked in every corner, space to roam and explore! - Get the passport to make your stay even more rewarding and fun! I love the scavenger hunts and the stamps force you to do things you might not normally do on your own accord. - The full pitch and putt course is a relaxing and a fun way to spend a few hours. It was only $25 per person and took us 3 hours. - I signed up for the Makers Tour and highly recommend it! Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tots, Portland Dip, any Burger, and the Bagel and Lox Breakfast is Incredible!!!

The Highlights * The Saltwater Outdoor Pool: This was the absolute highlight of our stay. The water is kept at a perfect 38°C (100°F), making it incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend visiting after 8:00 PM when the pool becomes an 21+ area. * Thoughtful Details: The robes provided were high quality and very comfortable. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring flip-flops for the walk to and from the pool area. * Art & Dining: The murals throughout the hotel are fascinating to look at. We also had great experiences at the on-site bars and the Black Rabbit Restaurant, where both the food and the service were excellent. The Room & Stay Quality We specifically booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. However, most rooms at this location utilize communal facilities. Unfortunately, our room was located very close to the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Due to a complete lack of etiquette from other guests using those facilities, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Because of the poor sleep quality and the noise levels, we likely won't be staying here again. It's a beautiful property, but the layout and noise issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our birthday celebration.
