Found this place on way back from Redding to Chester. Servers are so friendly and great service. Eaten here twice. Had French dip, delicious! Fish and chips also very good. Tri tip sandwich was very good, my husband had that. This will be our go to place when in Red Bluff!!! read more

I work next door, called in an order and was put on hold for 13 minutes. During this hold I could hear the waitress talking and seating people. I Walked into restaurant and asked to speak with manager it just so happened the owner was there and eating at a table, when I told her I had been on hold for 19 minutes at that point she just looked around and said "can someone take this order" loyal customer that will never return. read more

Rockin R is open from 6am to 9pm. They serve clam chowder only on Fridays! I came here to pick up some clam chowder after hearing great reviews from others. The clam chowder was really thick and creamy. I loved how there was a lot of chunky potatoes, clams, and spices in the chowder. It was definitely one of the best clam chowder I've tasted! It seems as though Redding's breakfast options are getting stale. By chance months ago we stopped at the Rockin R Restaurant in Red Bluff and were we surprised. I am not sure what makes this place so good. First I thought it was the waitresses there, always friendly, they listen to what you want, bring what you ordered and all with a cheerful smile and a welcoming spirit. Then looking in the arms of the waitresses, the food, oh the food is so good. Not only that the waitresses figure out what you ordered then figure out how to make it cheaper for the customer. While eating the waitresses always walk by to see how things are going and tasting. If they see something that may not look right, they ask if not they just keep on going so as to not be too intrusive. Overall this place is well worth the short drive to Red Bluff from Redding. I think the waitresses are the highlight of the restaurant. How many times have you had good food and then had it ruined by the waitress or waiter? Here you get great wait staff and the food is good too. I'm not sure the food would be as good if the wait staff was not as great as they are. Additionally the time alone with my wife on the way down is priceless. Get in your car, drive to Red Bluff and enjoy a fine diner breakfast lunch or dinner. MANGA!!!! read more

So this was a place we frequented. Sometimes 2x a week depending on what was happening with our schedule. Plus whenever we have family in town or go out with friends we go here. Waiters and waitresses (for the most part) are amazing!! Over time things have become more expensive, smaller portions and now they have decided you can only have one refill. This may not seem like a big deal to most people but to us it is. Now myself I do not drink a lot when we are out but my husband works HVAC. He is used to drinking tea and water A LOT!!! He drinks everything served to him, never leaving any waste. Recently we were told after 1 refill that we would have to be charged for a second drink. So the owner, when approached concerning the change in policy of only allowing 1 refill to the outrageously priced drink of $3.99 , stated that there has been "A" person drinking 4-5 glasses and even asking for a to go drink. Heaven forbid!!! He even stated it is taking advantage of them as owners. What a joke. We pay, at minimum, $14-$15 a meal per person. When they serve you a drink they fill the glass with ice which means as far as actually liquid you maybe get 1/2 - 3/4 cup in a large glass. Now tea is cheap, but here is salt added to injury, coffee is unlimited refills!!! Coffee and flavored creamer are much more expensive than tea! How appreciative are you of your customers if you have an issue over a person or two out of all your customers who drinks 4-5 glasses of tea or soda. It isn't being wasted. Sadly we finding a better local establishment to frequent and give our money to. read more

We were passing by from our camping trip and some of us were hungry while some just wanted some dessert. The service here was great. Friendly and fast. Their french fries and ranch was really tasty. I got french dip with French fries and it really hit the spot. My wife went straight for the dessert and she got chocolate cake. They had something for everyone. Kids got ice cream. My son got oat meal. My 8 year old got mini hot dogs with fruit. It really was a weird mix of food that we ordered but we were glad that we were able to order something from the breakfast menu and something from the lunch menu. Been here once, long before the pandemic. Would never go to a place like this during a pandemic, because I know places like this take absolutely no precautions and don't care about the health of anybody. We never went back because the baked potato I ordered tasted like kitty litter. Like the potato itself had been stored in Kitty litter. Not used Kitty litter lol just Kitty litter. It was the most bizarre tasting baked potato I've ever had and I have them a lot! It takes a very special place to screw up a baked potato, but they somehow managed to. I've never had a weird tasting bake potato in all my life and I'm 44 years old and have eaten them at least 5 times a year almost all my life. The Burger had no flavor at all. My son couldn't finish it. It tasted like they had never discovered the existence of salt or any seasoning. The only salvageable food were the fried green beans which my son loved. We stayed at the Best Western and decided to eat here since it right next door. The atmosphere was so inviting and the staff was awesome! Very nice, and curtious. Food was EXCELLENT!! Horrible service, went in for lunch. Got our drinks, placed our order, 45 minutes later we finally got our meal. During that time I got my soda refilled once, the second time when the waitress finally came to refill my soda she pushed a glass of water towards me and said, "you could drink some water too." Add to that a chili burger that was cooked until it was about shoe leather and tasteless and the whole experience was horrible. If I could give less than a star I would. Overall experience was good. We came for breakfast, biscuits were a bit dry but the gravy was delicious. Steak, potatoes...all good. We only had an issue with one of our plates. Corned beef and egg plate, my husband added an EXTRA egg, so 3 eggs total. When his plate came out it only came out with 2 eggs, or so it seemed, it was the same amount as what I had on my plate (which was 2 eggs) so we asked the waitress if he got his extra egg and she said yes and added that the restaurant has "small eggs." Staying next door at the Best Western and this place came HIGHLY recommended. Well, it did NOT disappoint. The fish & chips were absolutely awesome...best I've had in a long time. My colleagues had a various assortment of the local cuisine including fried pickles & fried green beans for an appetizer. Bottom line...AWESOME food, AWESOME staff and AWESOME prices as well. I went there Friday night, had the prime rib. It was excellent. Enjoyed the claw chowder soup, the Sierra Nevada pale ale, and the unusual bowl of beans. I thought the service was friendly, prompt and unobtrusive. Thankfully the c&w music was quiet. I'd return anytime. My only criticism would be that I should have asked for the butter and sour cream for the baked potato on the side so I could have dressed it myself. That's my fault, not the restaraunts. read more

I ate here for the first time while visiting family in Red Bluff, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was. My boyfriend and I arrived before the rest of our party, and the waitress made sure to ask others walking in whether they were meeting people so she could steer them our way.
