There is no doubt this is a beautiful, modern office with very friendly accommodating staff; however I would advise caution in relation to potentially unnecessary treatments. I have attended the dentist in the UK for exam and cleaning every 6 months since I was a child, I have no major problems with my teeth and minimal treatment. As a new patient I was x rayed and moved to a cubicle. Dr Kim completed the exam, he was calling out 5-6, 4-5, 5-6 when checking my gums - this was painful and caused my gums to bleed. I was advised I needed a deep clean in 4 quadrants and had 2 cavities that needed treatment - additionally my root canal would need redone as the filling was only temporary. I was shocked and confused. After a few sleepless night and talking with my family I decided to go for a second opinion. You guessed it - my gums are fine, I have no cavities and my root canal filling is composite and therefore adequate - although may benefit from a crown in the future. Again I was shocked and confused. Having moved from the UK, unnecessary treatment is relatively rare as we do not pay for our treatment therefore minimum benefit for dentist doing additional unnecessary treatment. I have emailed the manager to advise of my concerns. Interestingly I have had my teeth cleaned and the hygienist used a pick, no sonic water pick required - big difference from needing a deep clean! Between things long ago and just life, the dentist chair has never been my favorite place. It's usually taken a lot of coaxing and medication to get me there. But my experience with Rocklin Modern Dentistry and Dr Tran himself and his staff, I won't say it was pleasant, but four hours later I made it through. I would go back to finish the rest of my work. This past Friday I could no longer take the dental pain that had steadily increased for the majority of the prior week. I called Rocklin Modern Dentistry at about 1230 on Friday and they promptly made room for me at 1500 hrs the same day. I was treated as if I had been their patient for years. I waited about 10 minutes before being called back for a brief exam and x-rays. I briefly saw Dr. Kim and within 30 minutes, I was being prepped for emergency surgery. Dr. Namirainan came into the operatory and explained everything in detail and confirmed I was ready to proceed. Once I signed the final forms and authorizations, I had my IV started and was almost immediately at ease (dental and financial apprehension). Soon I was under deep conscious sedation (1 hour total) where 6 molars and premolars were extracted and subsequently packed with bone grafts. At no time did I experience pain caused by the office staff. There is no question that this will be my new dentist going forward. I considered my previous provider to be great, but Rocklin Modern Dentistry is clearly outstanding in all regards. Unfortunately, I'm currently on the Visa insurance plan, but have no regrets committing to nearly $30,000 for 6 implants and a handful of cavities. Don't put off seeing a dentist for 7 years!!!! I'm a true chicken when it comes to dental treatment, and I felt totally comfortable with my new providers! My last 3 girlfriends all worked in the dental industry and prepared me for the likely cost I had coming my way, even though seeing the costs on paper really drives it home! My parents are actually considering switching from their current dentist of 15+ years to this fabulous office. If you are looking for a new dentist, give Rocklin Modern Dentistry a true opportunity to make them your new provider. They have thus far been the best provider I have had to date. Dental work is not cheap, but what you spend upfront, can be a fraction of what you may be in for at most any modern provider, if you should simply ignore small nagging issues. This happened to me first hand. Although, some of the negative reviews make a bit of sense, I find them to be unfair. They quibble over $500, when I'm looking at $30,000. Implants are expensive and I wish I had listened to my body when little things arose. Regardless, RMD is my new provider with my full confidence. I came here after being told I needed 6 crowns by Modern Dentistry of Auburn. Of course I was nervous and came ready to fight--there's no way I needed 6 Crowns and I figured this place would be a lot like the auburn location. BOY WAS I WRONG! They must've felt how nervous/angry/worried I was, because the doctor and staff was unlike any dentist office I'd ever been in. The doctor thoroughly examined my teeth and told me I needed one root canal/crown, a small filling, and a "watch" for a future filling. He spent probably 20 minutes with me (instead of the 4 minutes the doctor spent with me in Auburn). He fully explained everything he saw/did, answered ALL my questions, and treated me like a human being. I've always had crap insurance, which meant crappy doctors, but this office made me feel like a million bucks. I can't recommend them enough!!! We are coming back for a check up again and this time I'm bringing in my youngest son too. The cleanliness of the office, rooms & the friendliness of the staff is still top notch. My lil boy is one of the pickiest kid I know and of course I was thinking since he has a cavity I'm gonna have to strap him down somehow and stressed the entire time about how to get his filling done. Dr. Tran made it way easier than I imagined, the experience was actually quite pleasant. I'm still perplexed how well it went, I think Dr. Tran is just a natural with kids and he's so calm in his demeanor and extremely patient. The hygienist Doan was also so good with the kids, she made dental hygiene a fun experience during their teeth cleaning and now my kids love taking care of their teeth thanks to her teachings. The staff Nadia and Jessica were all courteous and professional and I thank them for putting up with a stress induced mom. They all just know how to make us feel comfortable, plus my kids got a toy from the treasure chest for being good :) so now they actually don't mind the dentist much! read more

Beware! I would definitely not recommend!!!! They charge a lot of money as they are constanly selling extra and unneccesary services that cost extra and a lot of $$$$. You will be baited with an inexpensive first visit BUT, they will sell you on extras and they are expensive. There might be some merit in what they are selling BUT you probably don't really need it but they will convince you that you do. Then, if you question them, they say, "well, there was no guarantee that (that the $900 extra cleaning that you paid for) WOULD WORK. REALLY????? DON'T GO! I am very satisfied with Rocklin Modern Dentistry. I came from Dentistry by Design, a highly praised dental office so my expectations are high. I read through all the Yelp reviews for offices in the Roseville-Auburn area and found so much conflicting opinions that it was hard to make a choice. I settled on Rocklin Modern Dentistry and I am happy I did. I have been treated with respect and offered only the services I truly need for my unique dental needs and was put on a treatment plan to correct issues. I am seeing fantastic results and my oral heath is much improved after a 2yr hiatus from dental care. Their extra services like laser treatment really do work and the staff is not pushy about selling "upgrades". They are offered and explained and it is left for you to decide what fits your budget. I have been going to Dr. Tran for a few years since I moved here. I have been very pleased with my experiences with everyone that works there. I have also had Oral Surgery by Dr. Namiranian and I would give him the highest grade you could receive. No problems afterwords either. Dr. Tran takes the time to explain and answer all of my questions and make you feel very comfortable. I have always had High Anxiety problems just walking into a dentist office. Dr. Tran made a plate (false teeth) for me that I never have to use the glue to keep them from moving all around. I have had 3 other Dentists that were terrible before I moved here. I had to use so much of the glue to keep them in.... Dr. Tran, Dr. Namiranian are so very professional, caring and calming that I am happy to find this Dental office. And recommend it to others... I have always had bad teeth. Growing up, my parents did not set proper hygiene rituals for my siblings or I and even as little as 6 years old I had dental surgery on all 6 of my front teeth that were decayed. Having unhealthy teeth as a child did not make it easy to turn things around as an adult. I have had countless dental procedures done and many bad experiences. Having dental work done became a traumatic thing for me since I was little. Our family did not have good insurance and I had several painful experiences when I was where I was not fully numb or it did not seem like the dentist really cared about how I felt. This has caused anxiety when returning to the dentist to this day. Dr. Tran is by far the most caring and sensitive dentist I have ever seen. He spoke to me in terms I could understand and during the entire procedure walked me through everything that he was doing and why. I have no doubt that anyone who has ever had a bad dental experience would feel more comfortable after coming to Dr. Tran and Rocklin Modern. New insurance = new dentist and lots of yelp searching. It seems every dentist has some complaints about recommending treatments that aren't deemed necessary by the reviewers. I was skeptical but decided to give Rocklin Modern Dentistry a try. I have had consistent dental care and brush and floss regularly. I've also been told that I have some deep pockets that need watching. My biggest concern was that they would recommend things I didn't really need. I did have a cracked tooth, (I could see it in the ex-ray) but they said we could just watch it. Also have another large filling that should probably be replaced with a crown someday. Also okay to watch for now. Then the dreaded, I need a root cleaning, Anti microbial rinse, Laser treatment. So I'm sitting there wondering, Do I really need this or is it just an attempt to make a little extra money? The office staff and the dentist were all extremely nice, patient and explained everything. My insurance covered most of the cost so I said yes to the root cleaning and rinse and no to the laser. At this point, no one tried to talk me into anything. They were respectful of what I was willing to do. While doing the root cleaning, the hygienist came across one spot that she said really needed the laser, the pocket was a nine. And I already know it's a problem spot for me, deep pocket that holds food. Since she didn't try to convince me that my entire mouth needed it, I went ahead and did that quadrant. Did I really need it? Who knows? But honestly, my teeth and gums feel better than they have in years. I think some dentists do only what absolutely needs doing, knowing that it's expensive and most people are on a budget. Others are more proactive and want to stop things from progressing. It's difficult to know who to trust. The best thing is to go with your gut. I felt good about Rocklin Modern Dentistry. If that changes in the future, I'll be sure to let you know. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE! Recently I moved and also changed dental plans so needed to find a new dentist who would take my new dental insurance. I had used the same dentist for over 20 years with regular semi-annual visits and have always kept up with my dental care. When I went in for my semi-annual cleaning at Rocklin Modern Dentistry I was told that I had about three pockets which measure 5 and I would need a "deep cleaning" in all four quadrants with an out of pocket cost of $1000+ after insurance! I was also told that I needed three crowns at a cost of $1300+ each after insurance! Sensing that I was being ripped off, I went to my old dentist for a second opinion. He examined my teeth and took some x-rays and told me that I DID NOT need a "deep cleaning" and I had no 5 pockets. He did find that I needed one crown but it was not on any of the teeth that Rocklin Modern Dentistry told me about! THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY UNETHICAL AND ARE THIEVES! I wish that I had read some of the negative reviews before I went there but hopefully I can prevent other people from having the same experience. read more

I really cant say anything was bad but certainly different from any other dentist visit in my 54 years. I went for an initial consult. I filled out info on the I pad. No magazines but a media center. Instant ex-rays were taken that showed up as they were being filmed. The exam was painful as he probed and rattled off numbers. A big screen showed the dental images taken minutes before. Then the shocker, I have a cracked tooth, (I could not see it in the ex-ray) I need a crown. (They can fix it the same day) I need a root cleaning, Anti microbial rinse, Lazar treatment. I go to the dentist every 6 months and have never heard of root, cleaning, the rinse or the laser treatment. Total cost over $2000. I will not be going back. As I said in the beginning, I cant say anything was bad but seemed like the dentist has a lot of cool new toys that he cant wait to use. Perhaps he was right and my old dentist is missing it.
