I took my son for a haircut this last Saturday for a 10:30am and we were serviced by Lisa. When I called to make the appointment I mentioned that my son was 2. When we got there Lisa was nice. During the haircut her tone became more and more frustrated and she made many comments about his moving. Not only was her tone and comments unappreciated but she left my son patchy with some spots shaved down more than other and his hair was cut lopsided with the scissors. The cut was going longer than anticipated so instead of continuing, she left him unfinished and moved onto her 11am appointment. This being a child salon I expected better patient from the hairdressers. My son is 2, a toddler and he was not screaming or crying or moving around restlessly. He was playing with the steering wheel of the car causing him to move slightly and would occasionally turn his head to look at the TV screens or in the mirror. read more

Came in for my son's first haircut and it went great! I was a little nervous because I was afraid he'd cry the whole time, but Nadia and the other ladies in the salon were so sweet and patient. Nadia is really good with babies and suggested he sit on my lap. He didn't cry at all and was so calm bc Nadia has such a sweet manner and was able to cut his hair in a way that didn't irritate him. She did a great job on my son's hair, he looks really handsome and clean cut now. She even gave us a souvenir first haircut photo and a lock of his hair in a pouch. They gave my sweet boy a half bowl cut for his first haircut. I was devastated. I showed them pics and they just butchered his hair. Besides the terrible hair cut, the place is not clean! The lady asked me set him the red car with blonde hair all over it from the previous hair cut. They reuse the capes and they have stains on them. I didn't see them sanitize any combs either and I watched them cut multiple kids' hairs. I really regret going there. read more

Went in to cash in a gift certificate labeled $30-35 of services, but left paying an additional $25 My daughter had 10 inches cut off with the intent of donating, they helped tie it up, but we have to donate ourselves. I read reviews saying they charged an additional $7 if the hair was longer than shoulder length, well I was charged 3.5x more. NOT HAPPY about that, therefore did not leave an additional tip. I won't be back, but only due to the price (not posted anywhere BTW). Definitely not for your working class. ***UPDATE*** If I misread the voucher, my apologies. I did not see the date on the voucher as an "expiration" date, rather the date it was provided. It may have been donated, but I paid for it in order to use it. It would be helpful to see your prices listed only because I saw the stylists speaking to one another and commenting on how much "more" they should charge me, the debate was between $20-25, an amount they decided upon on the spot, rather than it actually being listed and what not. As I said, the service was great, your business is just overpriced for my personal preference. You have loyal clients, which showed and that's wonderful. I wish you continued success. read more

My son is no walk in the park when it comes to a haircut. In fact he's now 5 1/2 and has only had me cut his hair. Poor boy. Once I tried a salon and he screamed the whole time and we just gave up. So finally today he said he would try to do a haircut at a "real" salon and I called Rock n Cuts immediately. They fit us in at 3:15 and despite his complaining and whining, my son came out with the most adorable and best haircut ever! We worked with Andie and she was awesome! She had the right combination of patience and "feistiness" to deal with my little critic. The receptionist fed him a steady stream of animal crackers and suckers and Thomas trains. Andie worked quick as I help his hand and worked so efficiently that I was shocked when it was over! And she kept cutting and styling as he got up. He looked amazing! We asked him what he thought and he said, "I don't like it when you guys tell me I look good". Immediately Andie looked at him and said, "You look terrible! Like you were in a train wreck!" My son got such a kick out of that! And smiled and laughed and thanked everyone and really loved (and loves) his haircut. . Andie just rolled with him at every turn and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will come back regularly and ask for Andie to get him used to the routine and maybe try some more "rock n roll" hairstyles. But for his first real haircut, I couldn't be happier! The smallest ones have a car seat driver seat which is super cute and there is a lots of TV in the room to distract your kids at the same time. OMG, what a random and amazing experience I had at Nadia's Rock'n Cuts! So, my friend was having some work done at a plastic surgeon across the street. What was I going to do for three hours? I'm walking down S. Santa Monica Blvd. and see this little shop with all these cute rock T-shirts in the window and Queen blaring on the DVD player. Nadia was so pleasant and sweet, I asked her if she thought this photo I had of a hairstyle would work on me. Solid place and the staff is very patient and nice. They have little TV's at each station, toys and all kinds of stuff to make a toddler enjoy the experience... except for my two-year-old. He FREAKED out upon entrance and so the hairdresser was nice enough to cut his hair on the waiting room chair. About half way through the process, he didn't mind what was going on. the only place I take my toddler for his haircuts. I have tried a few other places, they always give my son a bowl like cut. Not here. They are prepared for your kid: toys, animal crackers, entertainment... and when it all fails, well they take as long as needed, cutting hair one at a time if that's what it will take... but your child will get his cut. We took two 7 year old girls for the amazon deal: haircut & manicure The girls thought it was cool and are happy with their cuts, so that's the important part to me. As the parent and consumer.. It seems that they have 1 general formula to cut a girls hair and that's all they can do. Don't expect anything too on-trend or unique. The manicure was fine; just painting their nails but what else do you expect for a little girl. The bummer for me was the fine print on the deal saying they charge an extra $7 for hair longer than shoulder length. Their hair was seriously AT their shoulders and they charged more for them. She chose this place for her very first haircut (which was when she had just turned 4), rather than getting her hair cut at my "grownup" salon. They are awesome with kids here. Plus, when she chose it, I had no idea, but Nadia is a Beverly Hills icon! My friend who grew up in Beverly Hills said Nadia used to cut her hair! Abby cut my daughter's hair this most recent time. She made my daughter feel like a superstar. My kid had a smile on her face the whole time she was here. While she was concerned about getting her first hair cut, that all went away once she walked in the door here. They take kids concerns and feelings seriously rather than dismiss them. Kids are heard here and that is one of the things that make it so special. Plus, as an added bonus, there is a treasure chest for the kids to get something at the end, toys to play with and if it's the first cut they take a picture and put a lock of hair in a special envelope for the occasion. Well our search for a good kids hair place continues...the woman who cut my 4 year old daughter's hair was a bit rough with her (She literally had her hand on my daughter's neck and was pushing her head back into the sink which was upsetting my daughter and I had to step in and say "excuse me- please don't") - then was rough in combing and drying her hair. Not to mention my daughter's hair is curly and she just decided to blow dry it straight but it just ended up looking frizzy and weird. Then when they charged my card I had to lean over her to put in my pin, and when she handed me the receipt there was no place to put a tip and when I asked her about it she was like oh that's separate - luckily I had some cash but just tacky. read more
