Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese Sandwich on a roll.
    Chris M.

Been some time since I posted a review here. This has been my weekend go to for breakfast. The egg and cheese on toast has been great. Fast service and always friendly. The taste has been spot on and price is right. The ambiance is clean and that of a quaint restaurant. A lot of locals and regulars go here. I recommend and will be back.

Love love love this coffee shop. I've been coming here for years since I was in college to study, work, read, or meet friends. The service is great. The staff are very kind. The food selection is wonderful and the drinks are great as well. It usually doesn't get busy so there's almost always a place to sit either in private or with friends. Will continue coming here as long as I live lol!

Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich - Pressed

Always get the grilled chicken pesto panini when I come here! So flavorful, I'd definitely recommend. Unfortunately, sides (fries, salad, etc.) cost extra and don't come with the sandwiches. Service is okay, employees don't necessarily go out of their way to be especially nice, but it's fine. Ambience is cozy and it's a great place to bring your laptop, connect to wifi, and work/relax.

First time having the famous (dare I say infamous) Taylor ham /pork roll bagel sandwich and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You walk in and can order on a kiosk /iPad which is nice especially if you are indecisive and need time to browse. My latte wasn't my favorite but it did what it needed to for our lengthy drive on the turnpike. Nice neighborhood spot lots of families popping in and out for breakfast

I ordered avocado toast which costs 6 dollars and in the description says the toast is made with sliced avocado, pomegranate seeds, and goat cheese on whole wheat toast. This is what I got. I will NEVER EVER order from this place again. This is NOT WORTH MY MONEY!

Its a trendy spot that was doing things right, even before trendy became trendy. Apparently its a chain, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the community feel. I didn't come here for the coffee, but walked in because of their pretty toast pictures. So many options! Goat cheese pomagranate or salmon cucumber? Picked the latter as per cashier's suggestion and it was a perfect afternoon snack. There's also breakfast, sandwiches, and of course plenty of coffee... all for a very reasonable price and all served in a very homey ambiance. Give it a try if you are in town.

Its a nice warm day to sit at RocknJoe and have some coffee. Loved that this place offered a some outside seating for guest, lounge type seating, and table seating. Its a bustling shop with live music and lots of customers. I wouldnt say its the best place to study due to the noise; lots of sound echo-ing and excess noise. But if you have headphones you should be ok. Service was prompt. I loved they had a great menu for hot breakfast items like omelettes, lunch items like sandwiches, and just your average coffee shop snacks. I tried the Raspberry Cookie Crumble latte and egg/bacon/cheese croissant. Definitely enjoyed both and will be back again to dine in for lunch and coffee soon.

Awful. 30 bucks for cold coffee, a nasty pork roll egg n cheese and "eggo" waffles. Uggh.. So disappointing :(

Rockn' Joe is a solid little coffee spot in Millburn and I recently found out this is not the only outpost, this seems to be quite a little chain in NJ (3 or 4 stores). It does give off that chainy vibe which I'm not opposed to, just has that vibe. The music was solid (ask Sheila A) and it was quiet. The staff was friendly and the coffee was good. The internet was super slow and intermittent which was disappointing as I was there to set up shop and work, which made it a bit hard. None of the food rang out so I passed, but definitely a solid option for coffee!

I really, really like this place. The lattes are great and so is the food. The staff is friendly and attentive. Very comfortable atmosphere with oversized leather chairs and tables. I have read where the service can sometimes be slow but I usually go on Sunday mornings and the last thing I want to feel is rushed. I'm usually moving in slow motion and if they are, as well, I hadn't noticed. Yesterday the bacon smelled so good that I had to order some. Was thin, crisp and delicious, although not a normal accompaniment to oatmeal. If I had one word of advice/criticism, they should make their own oatmeal, not serve instant. Otherwise, AOK. Oh, and the guitarist yesterday was great. Just trying to figure out why anyone would go to Starbucks when this gem is less than a block away. Hmmmm.

She told me they were short on staff and had to order and pay with her before seating. First time dining here and didn't know how busy it was since the dining area was on the other side of the wall. Fine... no problem. Upon sitting, I noticed there were only two other tables and most of the tables were empty. There appeared to be two male servers tending to the dining area.. Food and coffee came out in good time and the server who delivered it was friendly. After I sat and paid, I saw three other tables who came and were sat - all receiving normal table service. (I.e waiter taking orders, pay at the end.) I don't want to assume anything but would suggest the restaurant look at their practices and either exercise them across all patrons to avoid causing anyone to feel singled out... Food and coffee were good.

I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items.

My family and I have been regular customers at Liv Breads in Millburn for the past five or six years. I come here almost every day, often morning and evening, for coffee and breakfast, and my husband gets his coffee here literally every single day. We have always enjoyed the food and coffee and have spent a considerable amount of money supporting this bakery over the years. Even a regular black coffee here costs around $5 plus and when you are buying coffee and breakfast this frequently for years, you are clearly a loyal, paying customer. But what happened today genuinely hurt me. After finishing my coffee, I asked for the usual refill. The person serving me insisted that I bring back my used coffee cup before she would give me the refill. She then specifically told me that "a lot of people like you" have been asking for refills, and therefore she needed to see my cup before giving me one. If there is a new policy requiring customers to show their original cup, I have absolutely no problem with the policy. What upset me was the way it was communicated, particularly the phrase "people like you." As a brown-skinned Indian woman, I could not help but wonder what exactly "people like you" meant and whether I would have been spoken to the same way if I looked different. I am not claiming to know what was in anyone's mind, but I can say how the interaction made me feel: singled out, embarrassed and unwelcome. I have lived in the U.S. for years and cannot remember another interaction that made me feel this way. What makes it especially disappointing is that this wasn't an interaction between a business and someone who walked in for the first time. They know us. We have been coming here almost daily for years. Customer loyalty should mean something--not free coffee and not an exemption from reasonable policies, but simply being treated with familiarity, dignity and respect. The food and coffee have always been good, and that is exactly why we kept coming back for so many years. Unfortunately, after today's interaction, I walked away feeling deeply uncomfortable and no longer welcome. After five or six years of supporting this bakery, it genuinely makes me sad to say that I don't plan to return.

We went on a random Wednesday when the restaurant was about 90% empty, yet we were seated in a booth in the back where water was literally leaking from the ceiling onto the table. We asked to be moved, only to find a huge amount of trash underneath the next booth. As I looked around, I noticed napkins, crumbs, and trash all over the floors. There was absolutely no excuse for that, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty and several staff members appeared to be standing around and goofing off. On top of that, it was ridiculously cold inside. When our food arrived, we had to rush to eat because everything got cold so quickly. We couldn't even keep our coffee warm. The manager was very nice and apologized, explaining that he tried to control the air but was unable to. He did speak to an employee, who came over and swept maybe 10% of the mess before going right back to hanging around. And unfortunately, the food wasn't good either. Nothing tasted fresh. The potatoes were undercooked, the bacon was overcooked, and trying to eat that kind of food cold made the entire experience even worse. I've given this place far too many chances. This was the final one. I will never be returning.
