My wife and I had it for lunch during the week because we were walking distance from a meeting so didn't have to fuss with parking. (That's the only bad part) I had the West Texas Burger. It has brisket and it was soo good. I'm always picky with my brisket (hate when it has fat) and this one was good. They also don't mind when you want to change up the burger. I ordered it with regular fries and tried the Mac-n-cheese, pretty good. I didn't want the burger to end! My wife ordered the philly steak sandwich, and it was good. Meat had good flavor. I hate to be the person who just makes negative reviews, but this was bad on so many levels, I had to dig around and find my yelp login. Most importantly, it's a burger bar, and the burger sucked. I had the chipotle burger, and asked for medium. They gave me a hockey puck. It wasn't even worth trying to eat. The sweet potato fries had good taste, but weren't even close to hot. Again, you're a BURGER bar! It's not that hard to cook a halfway decent burger. The place has a nice bar area with four large tv's and I went in during the NBA playoffs. The bartender says, "oh, I have no idea if we can out that on." To be fair, they did get it figured out, but one tv (the one in front of me, of course), had its resolution screwed up, so I couldn't see one quarter of the picture, including the score. Left Los Angels the other day by train hit the hotel, The Plaza- which is awesome, then headed out for some grub. I walked a few blocks and walked into thi place. Sa-weet! Nice classic rock playing and an awesome server named Juan help my wife and navigate the menu- salads, sandwiches, and burgers. The Mrs. Had the Buffalo Chicken salad and I had the Boarder Burger; we added onion rings.., and oh dear Lord! Wow, everything was amazingly delicious. The salad with chicken had a not too hot but spicy, "Well take off you hat and welcome to Texas, man!" flavor that didn't disappoint. The burger was cooked to perfection and the extra slice of beef in the burger took it to another level. Needles to say, we were stuffed and didn't have room for dessert but they all sound great. The food is really good here!!! But..... everything else was horrible. First off, there is no hostess. So you have to seat yourself. You could get a table before someone who waited longer than you or someone will take your table if you've been waiting longer than them. We tried getting a table, was told someone was there before us. We understood. But then someone who got there after us, got a table. Survival of the fastest. We sat up at the bar until we got a table. The entire time there, the cans and glasses from the previous customers sat there the entire time we were there. Bar tender seemed very annoyed and in the weeds. Once we found a table, we stood there for a good amount of time waiting for it to get bussed. So, were we supposed to bus the table? They finally did. Sat there and was supposedly being served by their best server and we were going to be taken care of since we had already brought up some concerns about the seating/table situation. Took over 40 minutes for our burgers to come out. We were starving. Finally got our food, and it was pretty darn tasty. Our server said he'd be back with napkins. The chipotle burger has a beer battered bacon on it that's really good. Be careful, the chipotle sauce is super hot. Which brings me back to my next complaint. As I was eating my burger, we were still waiting for napkins. So we went and got our own from an empty table because we never got them from our waiter. Waiter finally came around and I asked for water. Never got it, so we went up to the bar to ask for it. If you're drinking at the table, order your drinks way ahead of time because it takes forever for a bottled beer to come out. Some other server checked up on us and weshe brought us another water and we had to ask her if our server could bring our checks. That took forever as well. So. Food is really good. Everything else, they need to work on it. It really felt like we did everything except cook the food. Not sure if we will be back. 3 out of 4 of us were once servers, so we tend to see our experiences different from someone who has never served. Which also means we tend to be a little more patient. So for me to complain, they really messed up. If you're looking to go, go when it's super dead inside. Don't go when it's super busy. read more

Seriously they were the nicest group of gentleman. Unfortunately it was pretty early on a Sunday and they were out of the cauliflower dishes we wanted to try. We were in the downtown at the plaza enjoying the lights on Christmas evening. Most restaurants were closed or had stopped serving food around 10pm. We saw this place and went in. They told us they're open till 11pm so that was great! Yelp reviews were awesome too. The waiter was very nice went over the popular items in the menu, which matched what we saw on Yelp, he brought our drink and gave us more time to explore the menu. We got the border burger which is a 6oz burger topped with arrachera steak, guacamole, habanero Monterey cheese and spicy caramelized onions. We asked if we can share and unlike other places that just bring you another plate, they actually cut the burger in two, split the fries and toppings and actually served us two well presented plates. They even put the caramelized onions on the side as my friend doesn't not like spicy food. We also took the recommendation from a fellow yelper and tried their cherry habanero chicken wings and the sauce was amazing and not too spicy. The restaurant is large, clean and also has a jukebox where you can select some music to play for a dollar. I recommend this place and I want to go back to try some of their other specialty burgers, West Texas would my next. read more

Completely disorganized staff and kitchen. Me and a coworker waited literally 55 minutes for chicken wings and nachos. Multiple tables that arrived AND ordered after us received their food before us. No explanation was given. Our first beers arrived warm. The nachos arrived cold and soggy. For waiting the 55 minutes, the extremely generous staff gave us two free 2 dollar beers. If you dislike free time, enjoy spending your discretional dollars on subpar food and overall think being ignored is ideal, then this is your spot. Came here with some friends back in November 2019 for a Friendsgiving lunch- the staff was disorganized and a bit rude. They were out of several of the initial dishes we ordered and we had to all order burgers. Before they were even able to bring out our food, our lunch hour was up and we had to leave so we requested that the food be packaged to go. The staff brought our food out for dine in and completely ignored our request so we had to send the food back and asked that it be packed to go which took another 20 minutes. We all had to go back to work at this point. Super excited for the burger I bit into it, only to discover that the meat was RAW. I called the manager immediately and he offered to refund my card. A week later I checked my bank account and the manager hadn't given me a refund! I had to call back for another manage to refund me for a raw burger. Not impressed and haven't been back since! Unfortunately I was really underwhelmed by this burger. Maybe it was just the chef I had, but the buns were massive compared to the tiny patty on the sandwich itself. My fiancé had the buffalo chicken sandwich ($10.50) which was pretty standard but most buffalo chicken sandwiches are. Her son had the kids chicken strips which was a pretty big portion. Enough to feed an adult. I opted for the Rolling Stone burger ($12) that had mushrooms, grilled onions, and toreado cream cheese. This thing was not only huge but deliciously rich as well. Each plate came with a hefty portion of fries. Every single one of us barely managed to finish my plate, but I swear we were stretching our pant buttons trying to do so. Great customer service! They must have improved from the previous reviews I have read. This place might be a little expensive for some but you'll be leaving satisfied and feeling like it was worth what you paid for. My friend and I sat at one of the high tables and were greeted promptly by our server. The place has a nice, casual-sophisticated atmosphere, with a cool wooden tile ceiling and faux cement flooring. Abundant large screen TVs would make RBB a cool place for drinks and eats to watch sporting events, but I wouldn't describe it as a sports bar because the food is too good!! I had the basic burger with American cheese and the works-including an I-Don't-Know-What-to-Call-It-But-It-Was-Pretty-Dam-Good home-made topping of jalepeno and onion served in a little crucible-shaped thing on the side. Wow, I could have used more of that! Hey, waiter, bigger crucible, please! So this place makes a super burger on a large brioche bun, lettuce, pickle slices. I would compare the burger style to Independent Burger up in Montecillo, except, I'd say even better. I subbed the side of fries (included) for an excellent, fresh, cold Caesar Salad. Downed it all with a Diet Coke and was out if there in half hour and a $10 check--impressive! Gotta go back soon. read more

I was hungry--as in, traveled 1,875 miles across 2 time zones without eating hungry, so a piece of shoe leather with A1 probably been tasty. What I ordered: - Ribeye tacos. Meat was ok, but not really seasoned in any meaningful way. - Smoked pork tacos. Tasted spoiled. Maybe it was the onion, maybe the pork. Who cares? It was gross. The tortillas for both were hard. Let me begin by saying, don't go to a Burger Bar and order a martini and a salad. I'll give this joint a 2* bonus for my error in doing so. Otherwise, this would be a 1* review. I asked the bartender how her martini making skills were. She replied, "great!" I ordered a dry gin martini and the rockstar salad with chicken and dressing of her choice. My martini arrived and was the color green. It must've been half olive juice, and the martini glass was only half-full. It tasted like pure olive juice. I gave the bartender the benefit of doubt, and said, "I'd like a very dry martini, not dirty." The next martini arrived shortly, and it was also half-full. It tasted way off, and I asked how much vermouth she put in it. "A 3 count?" she replied, not knowing that a dry martini means very little vermouth, not a shot of it. Next, the salad came. Very unimpressive. Basically mixed greens with some dried fruit on it. I had to ask for dressing, because it came without any. Chicken was over-cooked and bland. I choked down what I could, and asked for the check. I bet the burgers here are great. That said, my advice to the restaurant is this: take Hendricks gin off the shelf if bartenders aren't trained to make a martini, and take salads off the menu if they are so unimpressive.
