We had a beautiful balcony view overlooking the lake and trees. The location was perfect--right next to Toni's Mexican Restaurant and within walking distance of a grocery store, McDonald's, and several cute shops and bars. It's directly across the street from Lake Gregory, making it incredibly convenient; just park in your parking spot at the North Shore Inn and walk over. The room was clean, cozy, and even included some snacks. We had a very comfortable stay and no complaints at all. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. read more

This is my first time visited Crestline and The North Shore Inn.It was a quick one night getaway and we sure had a great time. We got the one bedroom suite upstair.It was a cute and cozy room.Come with full size fridge,full kitchen and fireplace (They do not allow you to bring your own logs and they provided a Duraflame fire log that will basically last a longtime) Separate living room with balcony connecting bedroom and living room. Bathroom was big and clean.If you like vintage vibe type of room you'll love this place but if you expect the modern type of room this might not be the place for you.The pillows were comfy and it's more than enough for 2 people but the mattress was quite too soft for us but we didn't woke up with a back pain or anything and we had a good night sleep. They have parking in the back of the building. Location was perfect! Close to everything.You can walk to the market and the lake was across the street! Perfect. Been here twice so far, the first time being kind of a last minute, spontaneous decision. We had such a great time we decided to come back earlier this week. Both of our stays were short and we opted for the only suite at this Inn and loved it - top floor, fireplace, full kitchen, big patio, two tvs, etc. The bed is SOOOOO comfortable, one of the best I've ever slept in. Love that there is easy parking in the back, and best of all, its location - right across Lake Gregory and walking distance to the market and downtown. The first time we were there, there was a power outage on our last night. The owner offered us a discount if we called directly next time we were interested, so we took him up on it earlier this week. It was such a nice time again, great weather. We had a great time. Giving it 5 stars because no one should be expecting perfection in an older building either, but yes the outlets are loose, and yes if you get the suite you should bring your own tools, utensils, and spices. But they do give you cookies, staff is nice and it's incredibly convenient. Looking forward to returning :) read more

Returning guest.. this is mine and my man's 4th time coming to north shore. This time we stayed in room 10. It was a nice warm room with a nice floor plan and a cozy fireplace. While we were there it had snowed in crestline so that made our stay a little more romantic. We enjoyed every minute of it!! Totally recommended! They kept in contact in the day of arrival. Nanette was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The view was great. The room was clean. Plenty of room for company as it's a suite. We were in room 9 and it can connect to room 10; so we're thinking about maybe seeing fit it's available for jamboree days as it would be perfect for viewing fireworks and juggling kids. The coffee maker could be a little bigger and paper towels would be convenient. But I really liked it. I can hardly believe I didn't take any video or pictures of the room! The stairs are a bit narrow/steep but it was fine. Go directly to the back to park and then go down the stairs to check in. My Husband and I did not plan to stay at this Inn. We were headed to Big Bear Lake when we found ourselves in Crestline after dark and needing a place to stay. We walked in to the main office of the Inn to check for vacancies and we were greeted by Nanette. She was genuine, warm and welcoming. She had a vacant room with a King size bed and a fireplace and we eagerly accepted. We were not disappointed. The room is uniquely decorated...with a vintage feel that is so cozy. There is a fireplace that warms up the entire room, a spacious interior with all the necessities like a fridge and a microwave. And, most importantly, a very comfortable Bed with nice clean linens. The whole room was clean and there was free snacks like cookies, water, coffee, etc.. in the room. The balcony was spacious and we had a view of the lake. We will definitely return. read more

This location was superb for our 3-day stay in the area for a wedding. We were only 10 minutes and a few miles away from the venue. The rooms are small but cozy at the North Shore Inn. Ours had a small veranda with a view of the tree-blocked lake and overlooked the small business area. The hotel is close to eateries, a fabulous grocery store (Goodwin & Sons), 7-Eleven, McDonald's, and the local Crestline Cafe (great food). There is a Mexican restaurant next door but we didn't get to try it. There isn't daily cleaning service, but you can ask for whatever you need from Abdul who seemed to run and maintain the place. (We got fresh towels and garbage bags as needed.) A small refrigerator is in the room, along with a coffee maker, bottled water, and snacks. Refills for the snacks, bottled water, and coffee packets are available upon request. On arrival, we had a problem with our refrigerator (it was brand new) that caused concern, since I keep my extra insulin refrigerated. Abdul could not get it working, so he got an electrician to pop by within 10 minutes to get the appliance operating. Abdul was very helpful, friendly, and respectful (always called me Maam---and in a nice way). The towels were decent, and soap, shampoo, and conditioner are offered. My only complaint was that there are tons of decorative pillows that just get in the way in such a small space. (I threw them in the closet.) Management should trade them in for some decent (more firm) sleeping pillows. The price was reasonable for the area, especially because we got a 10% discount for being senior citizens (65 and older). Not sure if we will ever be back in this area, but if I decide to buy a small hotel or B&B, I would definitely hire Abdul to run it! :-) read more

Abdul was very accommodating, he and his wife are very nice and go out of their way to help. We were there for a family wedding and when the rooms were all booked he helped others who needed lodging for the weekend find other places to stay. The place is clean and nicely kept. I was amazed at the wedding reception when people that i met told me that when they couldn't find a room Abdul helped them find other lodgings like a small cabin etc. So if you want to stay in a small hotel thats more like visiting family this is the place. read more

Stayed here the night due to work. 4 stars due to checking in and going in the room then asked to step out to fix something in the room. Left for about 40 min and came back. Was inside for about 20 min when was asked to come out again, that they hadn't fixed the issue yet. Waited for about 15-20 min and then was able to go back inside. Other than that, like I stated before, owner is amazingly friendly, location is great and clean room. Parking space is located in back of location. Would definitely stay here again! read more

We were expecting rustic and charming; instead, we got drab, shabby, dirty, and ugly. We don't even know where to start. The room was filthy. All the table surfaces were sticky; anything we put down on them had to be practically peeled off. We had difficulty finding any free electrical outlets to plug in and charge our phones; when we did find some, every one of them was so old and loose that our plugs kept falling out. There were no night tables at all, which made it a little difficult to function. All the lamps in the room had garish fluorescent light bulbs, which cast an industrial-looking pall over everything. A ledge in the bathroom was covered with dust, and the small metal soap dish drilled into the shower's tiled wall felt like it was going to fall out at any moment. One of the hangers in the closet was broken. Outdoors, the railing going upstairs was so filthy that we had to wash our hands afterward. All in all, an utterly dismal and unpleasant experience. The only positive was the convenient location, but otherwise, stay away! read more

This place is wonderful. Great location and easily accessible. Rooms are great and this unfortunately I know isn't their fault but my room/bed is infested with bed bugs. It's inevitable sometimes and I know it's not their fault if someone else brings them in but this is a bummer. I don't think they are aware of this yet, and I'm sorry to share but I would want someone to mention this before I booked a room. Other than that everything else is amazing. Had the pleasure of meeting Nancy that runs the North Shore Inn in Crestline who is such a very nice pleasant person. Upon checking in i found that the place is Immaculately spotless. The view I had of the mountains was priceless. And the lake just adds that beautiful touch of art to a majestic painting. We had a convention in the Twin Peaks area but the overflow ended up at surrounding hotels. I must say that we were fortunate enough to have come across this North Shore Inn and highly recommend this place. We plan on future bookings at this location. read more

After a night of car camping in rain, hail, and snow, I decided to look for a place to crash that would get me out of the weather for a night. First place wanted 250 for the night with the dog. So I ended up here. They didn't have any dog rooms left and still offered me a great room at a much cheaper rate, plus they honored a 20% off coupon. Now onto the place, it's super cute. Room is clean, bed is soft, having an accessible balcony is pretty neat too. Complimentary snackies and a fire place? Now that's just icing on the cake. The North Shore Inn was a nice stay for my boyfriend and I. The room was clean, amenities simple but nice, and the view of the lake was wonderful. You really can't beat the location for the price - 12 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and across the street from Lake Gregory. There is a grocery store across the way as well for snacks and such. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because, unfortunately, the bed was far too squishy/soft for us. We like a firmer mattress for back support and you really just sink into this mattress (not in a nice, tempur-pedic way). We ended up having our hips/midsection a good four inches lower than our legs and necks and we both had to pay a visit to the chiropractor when we got home. It is really a shame, because we would absolutely go back if it weren't for this problem. This is a specific issue to us, so don't let it keep you from experiencing this quaint spot if a squishy mattress doesn't bother you. read more

Don't be frightened by the tight parking spaces or the steep staircases. Those are the only reasons why I didn't give this hotel 5 stars. Other than that, it was like being home. I was immediately impressed with the attention to detail, cleanliness and amenities on the desk as we entered the room. A tray complete with ceramic coffee mugs, glass wine goblets, 2 bottles of water, and 2 mini snack bags awaited our arrival. Our room was quaint and decorated in a light teal/turquoise beachy theme. Just adorable! The bed linens were soft, and the pillows were neither too soft nor too hard. In the bathroom, the towels were lightweight 100% cotton that quickly absorbed moisture. Bonus: the balcony! This morning, I sat on the balcony drinking my coffee while listening to the birds in the trees and watching the sun glisten off Lake Gregory across the street. They even provided an ashtray for those who may need it. To say we were impressed with this hotel is an understatement. I am looking forward to a return visit! We have stayed several times at sleepy hollow cabins which are similar in $. This hotel fits ours wants and desires much better. NOTE: I didn't see an elevator and it looked to us like all rooms were either up or down a staircase. Please call their office if you aren't able to manage a staircase independently. read more

My girlfriend and I checked in for some girls time. The place seemed cute and quaint. it was hard to find the office at first since it is on the street level and we had parked in the back. We were a lil taken aback when the guy at the desk said he would meet us at our room. He was in the room by the time we got there (not sure how as we came in the front door). We discovered ants in our room but took care of it ourselves. But after finding ?? (Who know what) on our blankets, I had to go back downstairs and ask about them. The front desk person just took the blanket and gave me a new one without saying anything to me. I was astounded! Needless to say, we will not return. read more

I'll start with saying WOW!!!! This was a spur of the moment trip to Lake Gregory and found The North Shore Inn at the last minute. Spoke with the front desk and showed true customer service! They offered a military discount, so I decided to book with them. Once I arrived on site, the hotel was everything PLUS more versus what I expected. The location, cleanliness and hospitality of North Shore Inn is easily 10 out of 10!! I enjoyed every moment of my time there. I still can't get over how clean and well decorated the room was. If you're in Southern California and not interested in the big lakes, Lake Gregory is an amazing getaway along with staying at North Shore Inn. It's not your big name hotel but they definitely take really good care of you there. I'll definitely make my way back there in the upcoming months.
