I had a leak that took out my kitchen island. The team responded quickly and handled the mitigation effectively. I was happy. I supplied their rep with the claim number from my insurance company, and was told they would handle payment directly with insurance from then on. My insurance company said they would handle payment as well and notified Rocky Mountain Restoration of payment being processed a week ago. We had a punctured pipe in our garage wall that was spraying water into the attic and wall. After the plumber came and fixed the leak, he recommended Rocky Mountain for the water remediation. I called and spoke with the owner, Justin, and they were able to come out the next day. Once they inspected everything they sprayed the area with a disinfectant and set up their dryers. When I walked out into my garage it smelled clean, not chemical. The techs came out the next two days to check the wood for the dryness level. I wanted to share a very disappointing experience with Rocky Mountain which a plumbing company referred to me. The Plumbing was out doing some work on my property and one of my concerns is that there was discoloration around my toilet in the guest bathroom. the plumber said there could be a leak and even the possibility of black mold that could have spread into the rooms and hallway. He called Rocky Mountain and they came out. Based on the information the plumber gave me I trusted his professional judgement since I had a history with them and came highly recommended. The toilet was not at this time ever lifted and looked at. I am a single woman and rely on the professional companies to help direct me and I really like and trusted the plumber. Rocky Mountain gave me a quote to mitigate if this was in fact a huge issue which I agreed to. However, after the toilet was removed, it turned out that the only repair needed was replacing the toilet wax ring, there was also some urine about 10" in front of the toilet, but no major leak or damage that justified the extensive mitigation work that had been performed. The mitigation crew spoke no English, making communication difficult. They proceeded to remove all of my bathroom flooring and baseboards and performed extensive mitigation services which they were instructed to do by there crew leader who was not on site. I was charged 5384.04 for work that, in my opinion, was not necessary based on what was found. When the crew leader came to my property after the demo he confirmed this was not needed but already completed. To Rocky Mountains credit (after long arguments), they did replace and install the new flooring. However, I still believe I should not have been charged thousands of dollars for mitigation services not needed. As a result of this experience, my bathroom was unusable for over a month, causing inconvenience and stress. To make matters worse, I received a lawyer's demand letter yesterday seeking the remaining balance of 2692.02 before I ever received another bill by mail or email. In my opinion, this entire experience was handled poorly. I felt pressured into approving unnecessary work and was left with a large bill for services that were not justified. It was an excessive charge for an issue that did not exist. I would not recommend Rocky Mountain restoration based on my experience. I had a bathroom catastrophe back in July/August of 2025 and I was referred to Rocky Mountain Restoration by a plumber. They handled a lot and made me sign a bunch of paperwork assuring me it was to allow them to handle everything. having no experience with this, I complied and followed along. I should have asked more questions. A lot more. Once everything was said and done with their part of the repair, they let me know I had an outstanding bill for $4,700 because my insurance didn't cover the cost of an Asbestos Test. Had they mentioned it beforehand I would have told them, we just had a home inspection that showed no asbestos. I had documentation showing it was already clean. Now I'm stuck paying just shy of $500ish a month to them in fear they'll put a lean on my house that I need to sell soon. In their defense, they did indeed get everything demo'd and dried out. but at the end of the day, I can rip up flooring and pull-out drywall and insulation. i could have rented heaters and it would have been a lot less money than almost 5 grand. I was referred to this company by a plumbing company I had called out to inspect a crack in my wall that I was concerned may have been due to a water leak. The good: the initial guy who came to inspect the area did a thorough job and had good insight into the issue with an idea of what may have been going on. Because of this, I decided to hire them to do the work in inspecting the area. They came out quickly and got everything started in the same day. The bad: I didn't realize until after the fact, that the repair was not part of the cost. He did talk about "their contractor" that does the repair, but didn't realize it was separate because he made it sound like it was part of their team. I was charged almost $2300 for them to basically rip off a small area of base board, cut a small hole in my drywall behind my washer, and to set up drying fans to be left for days. That's it. This work in my opinion is NOT worth $2300. There's hardly any manual labor involved! Communication was terrible after that first day- I was told I would receive a call 3 days later to check up on the area, and no one called- I had to reach out to get someone out here, and when they would "check" their availability I wouldn't hear back all day until I contacted them again. Anyway, after the area was considered "dry" their contracted repair company contacted me to give me an estimate for repair (another $1800). I was feeling a bit turned off from the last few days, and then after reading some online reviews on RMR, I started seeing all the negatives and was concerned about being scammed and ripped off, so I decided to contact a different contractor for my repairs, rather than use someone connected to Rocky Mountain. The guy I called came and did an inspection- said they didn't do a good job- there was mold in the area on the wood and studs where the water was, which technically RMR was SUPPOSED TO CLEAN, AND SANITIZE this, but they didn't. They should have seen this. They were supposed to open up more around the area to check for this. They were really going to leave the mold and gave me the OK to have it patched up and repaired? We had a water pipe burst in our garage which soaked the ceiling and walls Once the water to our home was turned off, the dry wall and insulation fell down creating quite a mess. This was around 7PM Saturday night. RMR was called by our plumber and they were willing to come out at 10PM but we were exhausted and scheduled them for Sunday am instead. They quickly assessed the damage and worked from Sunday to Thursday to make sure the walls were dry. Personnel came once each day to move the fans and dehumidifiers to curtail any wetness that could lead to mold in the walls. They cleaned up all the drywall and insulation that fell so we could access the garage. II cannot imagine better service and I am very thankful to all the gentlemen who worked so hard to make sure we were satisfied with the job they had done. read more

I called a plumber to fix a leak from my shower. The plumber referred me to Rocky Mountain because it wasn't a plumbing issue and said that Rocky Mountain is an all-in-one company that would fix my issue completely. Rocky Mountain came in to demolish my shower and dry things out. Then without my knowledge, they gave my project to another company, Marksmen, that has completely ruined my shower. It has been over 3 months. My shower is still unusable. Every time a worker comes in, there are issues with all of their work, they come unprepared (come to measure without measure tape, come to caulk without a caulking gun). They have damaged other parts of my house that were not part of the original issue. Rocky Mountain should not have handed off my work without my knowledge. They also shouldn't be handing work to Marksmen because they have terrible communication and terrible workers. read more

My Mom had an under-sink leak and same old story where we were urged to file an insurance claim out of concern that mold could be behind the cabinet box. That lead to having to have all countertops replaced. They recommended Acuity Builders. It took 4 months for Mom's counter top tile to be replaced. Acuity Builders wasn't helpful in helping us pay a difference to update the counters and did only like tile. I would not recommend Either of these companies. read more

I would not recommend this company. I had a similar experience another customer posted here and wish I would have checked reviews before working with the company. I was referred by a plumbing company to assess for mold after I had a water leak. The initial guy who came out was very informative and explained through the entire process. However, in every step after he left, the communication with the company was horrible. It took days for them to actually arrive to my home and only after my insurance adjuster reached out directly did they finally schedule. Mold was supposed to be assessed immediately and it took them days. The people who came out cut out a portion of the wall that was not even directly affected by the initial water leak but according to their testing it was. They set up a fan and left it for a few days again and lacked communication again when they would return. They referred out for the reconstruction of what they cut out. In the end, there was no mold, they charged nearly $1700 to cut a hole, take pictures, setup a dehumidifier and lacked communication throughout the process. This company brought in an air purifier and a dehumidifier for two weeks and took a sample for mold. Then told me my home owners insurance would take care of it minus a $500 policy deduction. I never signed anything or agreed verbally to have anything done. If fact I verbally said no to any work. Now they are after me for $3,173.92, threatening me with a lien on my property. They submitted an insane bill to our insurance company. $2400 to move a safe 15 feet. Not only that, they were an hour late to move the safe. I was lied to from the first minute on. My kitchen sink went to hell and I had George Brazil come fix it. They recommended that I speak to Rocky Mtn Restoration because there could be water damage. I was told that this was an easy fix and that once I got them a claim number my insurance would pay for everything minus the deductible. After I agreed to let them tear my kitchen apart and place a few machines (dehumidifier, etc.) I never heard from them again other than to collect their stuff. Beware of this company! They will blow you issue out of proportion to charge you an insane price. They are scammers and actually called a mold removal company to inspect our rental property without notifying US at all. They fear mongered our tenets into thinking a small wax ring leak on tile floor that was cleaned up immediately would cause mold issues.. ( less than a gallon of water) They also push to claim on your insurance and try to coach you on the verbage. It was insane. We have several house in the Phoenix area and never dealt with a company like this before We are filing with the better business bureau and the Phoenix register of contractors. Where do I begin to explain the horrific experience with this company. First, do not use Robbin's Plumbing. They will refer you to Rocky Mountain, I'm sure they get kickbacks. I was told I had a black water leak and needed to fix asap. Rocky Mountain demolished my master bathroom knowing the insurance claim was not approved. I asked for a price if claim was denied. I was told around $2,100, reasonable for the work. Claim was denied and they initially billed me $10k. Then offered a discount to $8k! I fought with them for a month. Did not return calls, I had to escalate many times. We finally agreed on a price of $4,500, which was still way too much for what they did. I had to deal with a very sensitive situation after a family friend passed away in his home - he wasn't found for a few days so the home became a biohazard and I called Rocky Mountain for an inspection - Alex answered the phone and was very compassionate and understanding. He took down all my information and got someone to call me quickly after to get on the schedule. It was a very smooth and efficient intake & dispatch process! Patrick called me to get on their schedule and due to the urgent situation, I was able to get in that afternoon. Patrick was also kind and empathetic on the phone. He explained the biohazard process to me and ensured that they could take care of everything once in the home. They arrived to my appt on time and were very clean and professional with full suits, respirators, gloves and lots of plastic protective coverings. Rulon was the other team member with Patrick and he handled the home with care and professionalism. They were both explaining the process and what they were doing as it happened because I was a nervous wreck! They calmed me down and after the inspection, I felt a sense of relief. The last part of the process was just going over the work authorization on their iPad (which was very user friendly and modern) the form was easy to read and understand and it was nice not to have to go through so much paperwork like other companies! I've had the privilege of working with Rocky Mountain not once, but TWICE in last 6 months (lucky me, right?) In a perfect world, you don't want to ever have to work with a restoration company but I was so impressed with them the first time, I called them for my second leak. Mike did the inspection. He's super friendly and is thorough on explaining the whole process. Dominic did the actual work of removing the water and putting in the drying machines. He is absolutely fabulous! Super friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgable. Lee removed the equipment and was also very personable and professional. Everyone I've worked with has always made themselves available anytime I've had questions. They're great with letting you know how long until they're at your house and arrive on time. No one wants to work with a restoration company because it typically means something bad happened to your house BUT if you do need to, I highly recommend Rocky Mountain! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The only thing positive I can say about this company is that their response time is very quick. That's all. Had a water leak in the bathroom. RMR was recommended by our plumber so I thought, ok. (In fact, the plumber had them on speed dial... It all happened so fast I didn't have time to look them up) RMR came out quickly, tore out the countertop/sinks, and put it on the back porch and never hauled it away. Someone else had to finish that job. They tore out 1of 2 cabinets, leaving the other, and somehow felt it was ok to take that. The other cabinet had to be ripped out by someone else, again finishing what they should have done. Then they have the nerve to charge thousands of dollars to do an unfinished job. Katelyn, who is the person who does the communicating, is nice. Sadly, she has to just reiterate what her boss tells her. Boss is unbending, not customer oriented at all. Katelyn, if I were you I would find another job with a better boss. So bottom line, if you like throwing away thousands (whether it is from your pocket or your insurance company) for something that should have cost hundreds and are ok with work that is only half done, call them. Let me first say, all repairs were made and covered, so that's the main goal. We had water damage from a shower. We had two restoration companies out that the insurance company recommended. Rocky Mountain had their act together in the "dog and pony show" portion of the process. Thoroughly checked out all the damage and concluded with "we want to give you the Nordstrom shopping experience" after we sign with them they take care of the rest. A crew showed up next day opened up holes to dry things out. Placed fans, dehumidifiers and heaters where needed. They left, a few hours later I noticed that one dehumidifier wasn't as noisy as the other one, because they didn't plug it in. Plugged it in to save them a trip, next morning everything in the garage stopped because they over loaded a circuit and their power box ran out of juice. From there on out, communications with Rocky Mountain was absolutely subpar. They didn't handle the things as they stated with insurance. They were hard to get ahold of, commitments they made on who would be here when were repeatedly missed. When the insurance walk thru occurred we were told a manager would be here since the "crew chief" was on vacation. Once the inspector got here, Rocky Mountain wasn't here, someone unprepared (not the manager) showed up late and brought no value to the process. Per the insurance company, they tried to sneak in several "non standard" charges. Including hundreds of dollars for "a non emergency call". We were promised the "Nordstrom experience" we got the "Ross - Dress for less" on Black Friday experience. read more

I hired these guys to take the mold out of my bathroom on the house I was selling. I was quoted $1200 to take the wall down the bathroom which I paid for. They promised to build it back up after they took the payment from me. They were so quick to do that. I had a deadline of getting that wall fixed that they tear down since I was selling my home to a new homeowner. I never heard from these guys again. I called and asked them what's going on. Will they fix the wall by the deadline date?. They said they will and they never called me back. I kept calling asking to speak to a manager. The manager even refused to speak to me and they promised they'll get back with me. They have horrible customer service. Very unprofessional. If I could give this company zero stars I would. Be aware. They came highly recommended from our plumber and we loved our plumber. We had a leak causing water damage. They were very quick to respond to the scene and told us don't even worry we will deal with the insurance ourselves. You guys won't have to even talk to your adjuster. They were trying to rush us to do our demo so that basically they get paid. Without any plan to move forward with restoring, our room that was damaged. I called Rocky Mountain Restoration due to my plumber recommendation. I had a leak in my laundry room and my plumber recommended them com come for an emergency work. They should dry the area, open the drywall, clean it and restore it. A representative came up and started the work without showing any estimate. I signed agreements authorizing them to bill the insurance company and they would make all the paperwork. Quickly he installed a couple of equipments to dry the area and called a company for a material testing, a guy who drilled my wall with a knife to take samples. On the next day, due to a delay of continuing the work, I decided to stop the work and put the equipment outside. I was billed in $1100 for the testing and $1500 for that dropped equipment in a total of $2600. Talking with my insurance agent, she said that they wouldn't pay for that mitigation work. -UPDATED ON 9/29/2023 Rocky Mountain contacted me to negotiate the money loss. Since it has some work performed and the test was a third party company it was agreed that I would be compensated in $1000. read more

Had a leak from the plumbing in the wall, resulting in wet carpet and the possibility of some damp walls. Rocky Mountain was recommended by my plumber so I had them come by to take a look. Their "first responder" was fairly aggressive and within 20 minutes he was pushing me to file an insurance claim. That's something they never let go of; I was constantly being told I should "file a claim, file a claim". I was told I could lose my tile floor and would have to probably replace the bathtub in the bathroom. All from a little drip in the plumbing. I asked the first responder for the out-of-pocket cost to just dry my floor and walls and make them safe, I was concerned about the potential of mold. After giving me a price, I spoke it back to him and confirmed that I would get dry and safe walls for that price. He said yes. I told him to proceed. That evening the project manager came by and confirmed that the work they would be doing was covered by the cost quoted to me earlier that day. Turns out...they lied. The cost they gave me was for the set up of their equipment and the rest of the procedure would be more money. Of course this is after I signed their paperwork. I put a stop to everything and told them I would pay the quoted price for what had already been done and leave it at that. After a few days of being passed from one person to another, they accommodated my request, and we ended our business. To their credit, someone from their operation did follow-up with me to ask about my experience and they were very apologetic. They will never be allowed in my house again. read more

Do not use! My RO had a water leak and I hired them through my insurance. I went 3 weeks without a dishwasher and kitchen sink. They said they would set up a temporary sink for me and never did after multiple requests. Then the claims department harassed me charging me $1888 then $1400 and then through Copper Canyon law got another $180 from me. Oh and I got a notice from them that they would put a lien on my home less than 1 month after the work was done. read more

My mom is home owner in Arizona and we used Rocky Mountain Restoration to fix minor mold in her guest bathroom. This simple fix took them one week to complete. They run up the bill more than necessary and use the insurance to help pay their overcharged bill. I would not recommend Rocky Mountain Restoration to anyone. As others have stated, they assure you that they will do everything possible to mitigate any damage. We had two issues, and neither was fully resolved. They come in, make a big production, tear out walls in three rooms without any discussion, do not clean up, and then leave fans so they can keep coming back daily. If you question the work, they are rude and disrespectful. They have little respect for your home or the customer. They talk a big story but do not deliver. They over charge for what little they actually do. We were told "all the plumbing looks good. There is no leak and the water was probably coming from the previous owner's washer." The very next day the water was back. Their response ... "that's your plumber's problem." AND, remember, they do not restore any of the walls they remove or damage they cause. You have to hire another company or other contractors to repair the damage. Also, the so called contract signed to begin work listed the work but then we were asked to sign it again because the signature "didn't come through." That contract did not list the work to be performed. Once they leave, you are ghosted and no one returns your calls or emails. NOT a reputable company. Disreputable company. We were told not to reach out to our insurance company and that they would handle any discussions. When our insurance finally contacted us they shared that what they were attempting to charge was way out of bounds for the size of the job that was being worked. In addition to that, they brought in packers for our closet so they could get the remediation done quickly and the company they brought in has to be conspiring along with this company to commit insurance fraud. They packed up one closet which was less than 50 boxes and moved them to the other side of the room and claimed the work to pack up the closet was $4000! The other kicker is before they even send you an invoice you'll receive a letter from some company called Titan Lien Company essentially threatening you with a lien for non-payment. There was never an invoice sent to us AND it is pending with our insurance. Run far away from these guys and their unscrupulous practices. read more

Rocky Mountain Restoration is a company of dishonest employees who try to scam you of money while attempting to commit Insurance fraud. I had a leak in my toilet and a plumber brought them to my house. When they got there they said that even though there was no flood if they contacted insurance and said a flange was broken it would "100% covered by insurance". Additionally they said they would falsify that it was a class three flood to improve their chances of coverage. There was absolutely no water in my home or damage but they said they could get me a "new bathroom".They said they would talk to insurance and get things covered. Additionally Rulan White said they needed to demolish my bathroom before insurance company arrived. I was incredibly uncomfortable with what was going on yet the employee insisted this was what needed to be done. Not only did they try to destroy my bathroom they said they needed to demolish the other bathroom and my entire kitchen. I refused to let them do that as I was so uncomfortable with what was going on. The plumber and Rocky Mountain continued to push daily to make me move forward with this plan. They insisted the bathroom needed to be demolished prior to Insurance arrival and unfortunately they ended up doing that. When I started getting involved with insurance I realized they were attempting to commit insurance fraud. When the insurance company didn't cover the fake claim they got me in touch with a lawyer to try and fight the insurance company for coverage. I did not feel comfortable with this as they were lying about everything that occurred in my home. I tried multiple times to get a hold of people and send emails yet know one would return my calls. I just received a letter from a lawyer saying I owe them 12,000 dollars when I've never received a bill or a call from any one. I plan to go to the Arizona board of contractors as what happened in my home is horrible and I hope to protect others from this problem. I took pictures of my home the entire time and documented what was going on to have proof going forward. There was no class three flood or any water damage in my home yet I'm left with no bathroom. This company is a scam. They will quote a price then try to get 5x the amount from your insurance. They will lie to you about mold. They will lie to your insurance company. If they can't get what they want from your insurance they will have lawyers leave scary messages. Luckily they are also really stupid and don't get a signed contract. *update* it appears everything was a misunderstanding with their billing department and a newer employee. I truly appreciate them owning the mistake and they have since smoothed things over. Do not sign anything and do not use this company bottom line. They will run their equipment longer than necessary to run the bill up more than necessary, and per the insurance they're using higher than market price gauging over the reasonable charges and them come after you for them over charging.
