Let me set the scene - COVID-19 was in full effect, and I had a special date planned for my girlfriend. Oh yea, and this was a special meal while on vacation. I can't say enough how incredible the food and staff were - 10 out of 10! (OK, 5 out of 5) The staff was amazing - I had called ahead asking for them to tuck away a special birthday cake - Done. No questions asked. My date didn't like her fish and it was swiftly replaced by the most incredible filet. The filet was possibly the top 1 if not top 2-3 steaks I've had of all time... You definitely won't regret ordering the steak. The food was incredible. The waiter recommended a creamless corn mash which sounded just okay... it was delicious! A definite must-have. This was really the perfect birthday dinner - nice and spaced away from others, attentive service, and a welcoming, cozy feel. The only downers are it's not super close to much else, and the decor is a bit more formal/old-school. But the food and service 100% make up for that and more. Finally he returned for our drink order. My sister had a mixed drink which she said was mostly mixed and she switched to beer. We ordered dinner and about 25 minutes later we're offered bread, ok. We both got the filet, which were perfect aside from her blue cheese brûlée not being brûléed. We shared the whipped potatoes which were great and the Mac and cheese which was not. The paste is too heavy and it's just a chewy heavy pasta. We were not offered salt and pepper, but heard they weren't on the tables cause people steal them. Our waiter was less than attentive. My sister got the bananas foster brûlée for desert which she said was good. Would I return, maybe, if someone other than myself was picking. I'm good with a steak from longhorn honestly. read more

The building where this restaurant is situated was once a funeral home! Today, it's a place where great steaks got resurrected. Skip the Bridge and Berns, and enjoy the best right here. Only reason this place gets 2 stars is because of the professionalism of the manager... but go ahead and avoid this place at all costs Let's start with food. The pork belly app was mediocre at best. The wedge salad was descent but the portion size is less than half of what you would receive anywhere else. Whipped potatoes were the best thing we tried. Salmon entree was edible, maybe 6.5/10. The steak is where everything broke bad. Ordered a 14 oz strip, price tag 80$. Prime beef but not dry aged. Berns has a dry aged 16 oz strip for 75$, not to mention it comes with salad and French onion soup. So if you do the math the 80$ steak, 15$ salad and 15$ soup brings you up to 110$ for a meal comparable to what you would get at Bern's for 75$, not to mention it would be way better. I ordered the steak medium rare, it came out blue rare, cold in the middle. I sent it back and they bring out the same steak cut in half that was just charred for a couple minutes on the grill, with the steak being closer to rare. The waiter gave me a condescending speech about how strips should be cooked less than ribeyes. First of all, I don't want any lessons about how to order a steak and second of all, for 80$ they better cook me a new steak and bring it out at proper temperature. Service 1/10 Waiter was horrible and had bad attitude. This is not Outback this is supposed to be the best steakhouse in St Pete. I would expect the waiter to be more professional and show some basic understanding of hospitality. In the end of the meal when the waiter came back to ask if we were done and how everything was we explained that the steak was disappointing, he immediately gets rude and says he's going to get the manager! Bad move lol. Manager came out and said all the right things, offered us free deserts and took the steak off the bill. We dined here on 11/2. I ordered a medium rare prime ribeye priced at $100. It was very overcooked. Came out completely grey on the inside and completely dry. Had a few bites and showed it to my waitress who replied, "Well i hope the rest of the dinner is to your liking?". Never offered another try from the kitchen, ignored us the rest of the dinner and then never took it off the bill. I was very embarrassed as it was a birthday dinner (which they also knew about and never offered a dessert gesture) .... so, we simply followed up with a very polite letter to management the following week. No response. Incredibly overpriced and apparently, they could not care any less. Server was not trained properly and there wasn't anyone to talk to on our way out. I prefer Bern's, which includes everything from Soup to salad and organically grown veggies from their own farms, is impossible to beat. When arriving with a party of 10 guests on a Friday night (advanced reservation) we were greeted and sat immediately which was great. After sitting we were greeted by the waiter 5 min later and given water with no drink order taken. After over 10 min we were finally asked for our drink order in which every guest ordered cocktails immediately. The waiter was not the least bit attentative or friendly. As the drink began to trickle in 1 by 1 by seperate people carrying 1-2 drinks per tray the last cocktail (which was the first one ordered of 10) ended up coming 38 minutes later after ordering. After waiting almost 40 minutes for a drink, we asked if we can order food and we're looked at like we had 3 heads. One would think a party of 10 all drinking would be taken care of as thr bill could have gotten easily over $2000 if drinks were on time and ordered again. Every guest ordered a $90 steak and would have expected good service at a place with this price point. Food was good but nowhere near the quality to justify the 1 star service. We still managed to tip 20% even with this 1% service due to most of us being in the biz at some point. Um, why did I not know about this place sooner?! The ambience, the food, and the service was top notch! I loved the couch/chair I was sitting on during dinner. It made me feel like a Queen. For the entree, I had the Lobster Americana which was a creamy spicy pasta dish with huge chunks of lobster - YUM! My boyfriend had the rib eye. You have the option of getting sides to share and they're great for two people. We had the mushrooms and the cream of spinach. We didn't even make it to the dessert menu we were so full. Went here for the first time last night and ordered the $70 ribeye. The steak was so burnt on the outside that we couldn't eat it. The server never asked what was wrong and only asked us if we wanted it to go. The pieces I was able to eat had zero flavor despite the rave of where they source their meats from. The calamari, cream corn and cream potatoes were good. Maybe it was just my bad luck this night but I wish I had celebrated my birthday elsewhere. They offered both scrumptious steaks, to yummy seafood choices. The Lobster bisque was probably my favorite item we tried. My husband and I had dinner as part of a large group. Apparently we as a group had to spend $1500, we had a private room with 2 servers. We started with expensive cocktails that appeared to be light on alcohol and heavy on ice. I tried a different cocktail and it was no better. I started w lobster bisque that lacked much lobster and bisque. Husband had French onion soup, which said was "meh." He also had a Caesar salad that was marginally decent with better ones at Chilis. Our waiter, who displayed serving skills that are rarely seen, was incredibly polite, funny, and helped us to understand exactly what we wanted to order. We asked a million questions about what each dish & cocktail was like, and he was more than happy to indulge us. We ordered the Brûlée Pork Belly with Cauliflower Puree, Shaved Fennel, Poached Pear, Sweet Soy Glaze($13)for an appetizer, some oysters ($18), and I got a bowl of Lobster Bisque with Cognac Cream ($12). The Brûlée Pork Belly was the best I've ever had, perfectly seared and juicy on the inside, displayed elegantly on the plate. The oysters were nothing to write home about, but the Lobster Bisque surely did not disappoint; the bisque was delectable. For dinner I chose the 16 oz ribeye ($65), with bernaise sauce ($6) & a full lobster tail ($32). My date chose a NY Strip ($58) with a The side dishes were family style, so we picked two to share. We got the whipped potatoes ($9) and sautéed mushrooms (around $11). Personally I'm not ever too excited about potatoes, but these were truly something else to behold! My steak was ordered medium rare, and served perfectly medium rare, with a lovely sear on the outside. Both of our Steaks were phenomanal. Rococo Steak serves only Prime Steaks from Allen Brothers - in Chicago, IL. My lobster tail left something to be desired, but I don't hold it against them too much because everything else we had was truly fantastic. We were too full to be able to eat anything else while we were there, but I couldn't pass up the desserts that they had! I ordered the Blood Orange Upside-Down Cake with White Chocolate Marscapone, Toasted Almonds, Orange-Raspberry Reduction and the Honey Lavender Cheesecake, with Graham Cracker, Earl Gray Chantilly, Honeycomb. I will say that I am not a cheesecake person, I typically do not order them as I'm not usually a fan, but this dish was highly recommended by several of the staff, so I decided to try it. The Honey Lavender Cheesecake was light, airy, full of flavor that it seemed you could taste before you took a bite. I do have a massive regret, and that is because I shared this with my date LOL. We came here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Service was 5 stars and we got a tour of the wine room. We had the dry aged Porterhouse for 2 with mashed potatoes and spinach, raw oysters, and salads. I was very impressed with the drinks- especially the St. Pete Fog. The oysters were delicious as well as everything else. It was nice to go to a different steakhouse in the area. We had a great night and will definitely return. I loved the decor also. As far as gluten free options go if you came there for steak you obviously won't have a problem. A few of their sides do contain gluten and they were helpful with that. We visited when they first opened and things were rough. This visit was terrific. It's a beautiful setting with parking, a big plus these days in St. Pete. The service was great with Joseph, who was very attentive and helpful. Our group of 4 started with oysters, octopus, and crunchy calamari. The oysters were perfectly shucked but only came with their cucumber mignonette. I asked for some cocktail sauce and horseradish which they quickly brought. The oysters were nice and briny and really didn't need much else. The octopus was tender and the crispy calamari was spot on! We all liked the Caesar salad and some of our group asked for sardines, which they brought. The entrees were what you would hope for at a good steakhouse. We had a mix of steaks and seafood which we all enjoyed. The dessert we shared was bananas foster with bread pudding. A nice way to end the meal. In a word: Fantastic! The locale, operation, service, and fare are all superb. The wife and I came in here to celebrate her birthday and left with an absolute Wow-factor from our experience. We both ordered a filet mignon, albeit with different accoutrements: mine with a side of Au Poivre (DElicious), and the wife's with the blue cheese butter brulee. Now, don't get me wrong, both our steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned just right, and were juicy, tender, and superbly delicious, but upon sampling my wife's I would have to say that hers was actually better than mine. The blue cheese butter brulee added such a wonderful flavor and complemented the meat with absolute perfection. Our shared side was the twice baked potatoes, and they were also very tasty. The portion size was spot on, as we left feeling full and satisfied, but not miserable. As I had made our reservation ahead of time, I was sure to mention that it was my wife's birthday. She was welcomed with a 'happy birthday' by the hostess upon checking in, as well as by our server, twice! Not only that, but they brought her a delicious chocolate dessert on the house with a decorative round of white chocolate on the front that read "Happy Birthday". This made her so happy and was very good in it's own right. Overall, this place was absolutely fantastic from the moment we walked in, throughout the meal, and the moment we left at the end of the evening. We ordered scallops with asparagus, ahi tuna burger, charcuterie platter, and octopus, we even got a complimentary creme brulee! We went pretty early (around 6 pm) to accommodate our babysitting arrangements, so the venue was a little sparse with guests.
