Decided to try Rodeo Cafe for the first time after reading a few glowing Yelp reviews. Thankfully my party of 3 made it here on a Sunday morning right before the breakfast rush and we were immediately seated. They offer typical breakfast fare at reasonable prices. Our meals arrived quickly, and they kept my coffee topped off. My husband had the pork chops and eggs, my son had the Rodeo meal (steak, eggs, potatoes and French toast) and I opted for John Wayne's favorite (eggs on potatoes atop a flour tortilla between 2 sausage patties and covered with melted cheese). 3 stars for the cozy feels and the hospitality. Okay, I'll start by saying that I kind of get the appeal. It's nice to have a hearty neighborhood breakfast place. The portion size was great. They have the popular classics on the menu (i.e. pancakes, omelettes, etc). I just could not get over the stale oil taste/smell. I ordered the combo with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The pancakes came out just okay - on the plain side. They were a little doughy in the middle, but not raw. I did not enjoy the bacon. The stale grease just spoiled my appetite and they were overly salty. I couldn't get the aftertaste out of my mouth. The coffee was alright - I've had worse. Maybe my standards are too high - being a brunch person. This is just my honest personal opinion. read more

What a hidden gem. We are not from the area but saw the great reviews and decided to stop in. It was incredibly busy and they still sat us right away. Our server was attentive and suggested the best plates. When the food came we were shocked at the large portions. My wife had the Benedict that looked amazing, but according to her was just okay. Hers came with steak and she said it was the downfall of the dish. My 3 year old survives on chocolate milk and French fries. The staff accommodated her request despite it being 830 in the AM. She was more than happy and the fries I stole were nicely cooked. They have all the normal breakfast dishes including chicken fried steak and eggs, pancakes and the sort, and daily specials such as chiliquiles and ribeye and eggs. I had the corned beef hash and eggs with an english muffin. The dish was huge with a giant pile of hashbrowns and a good portion of hash. The food came out quick and was hot and tasty.
