Excellent service & Authentic Mexican food! My GF loves the bleu cheese dressing and Fish Tacos. All G!!

While having been a loyal customer for decades, my friend & I were extremely disappointed in our meals on Saturday. We ordered a 2 item combo, rice only (no beans) and added a salad. The salad dressing was like water, both ranch & bleu cheese. The rice was crunchy, either overcooked or undercooked, and dry. The shredded beef taco was not edible, meat was very dry and couldn't even bite through the meat. The enchilada was good, salsa & chips were the best part of the meal. The staff were not friendly either. I have always favored the Montclair location, but Riverside was a closer point to meet my friend, we both live over 20 miles away. I'm extremely sad, since my daughter moved near there & has always loved their salads, would've been a good place to take her. I will try the Montclair location again, but not Riverside. read more

Rodrigos is our go to Mexican restaurants. We mostly enjoy the Tustin & Huntington beach locations. Love their free chips and salsa. Their margaritas are the best. My wife enjoys the diet tostada and I like the chicken Sonora or the fajitas or the combination plates. We also enjoy celebrating birthdays and such there because there is lots of room for everyone. Really good food the service was amazing chips and salsa were top notch . I ordered Mexican pizza and it was great half ground beef and half shredded beef . Really good . The food is great and the chips and salsa never stop flowing this review would have been 5 stars but 2 were removed due to the fact that their is no longer Spanish music since people complained and they have since removed the classic Spanish movie pictures that use to be their,personally it feels like they have lost some of the authenticity plus it use to be darker and felt more cozy I really wish they would put those things back so I don't have to put on my own music I hope they go back to their roots and get rid if the flower pics and play some Mexican restaurant music again. read more

My family and I love going to this place the food and service is great. We were here the other day and when we were ready to go it was hard to get our servers attention because they were swamped so we asked a guy (Roberto who seems to be the manager) who was just standing around, for our check we thought he would be able to get it for us since we were in a bit of a hurry but instead he just brushed us off and told our server to get it for us so we had to wait for it making us even more late. Dont get me wrong I highly recomend Rodrigo's like I said before their food is tasty and service is great but if that guy is the manager I feel awful for the servers that work there since it doesn't seem like he's very helpful and is there just to boss around and collect a pay check corporate should really look in it. read more

My family and I went to Rodrigo's for taco Tuesday not only did our server get our simple order wrong but I ordered a taco ticket that was missing from the first order I had put in and when my boyfriend went to get the taco at 8:10 they had already closed the taco bar down. I asked our server what happened she wasn't sure because the taco station isn't suppose to close down until 9. She went to go ask and they said because the big party was done in the bar they decided to close it down, mind you there are other guest in the restaurant area. I'll never come back here. What a disgrace considering I've been eating at Don Jose/Rodrigo's since I was a child. I'll take my business somewhere else plus my family and dozens of friends that frequent here. read more

I have been coming to Rodrigo's for many years (since it was Don Jose's) They have great food (large, flavor filled portions), great bar service, the best servers and reasonable prices. I love this place and I will continue to come here and invite my friends and family to come here. I will not hold them responsible for an incident that I experienced today. I was here with my family (a large group of approx. 60 - 70 people). Inasmuch as it was a Sunday they had a Mariachi by the name of "Mariachi Aguila". After having played at several other tables they arrived to our table I requested they play a song for my girlfriend after they had just played 3 songs for the table next to us and 3 songs for the table before that. Most people were donating $5.00 / song. When they finished playing the 1 song I requested, I gave them $15.00 and requested 1 song for my 93 yr. old mother. The man took my money and as he walked away he told me they would go to the next table and come right back. They proceeded to go around the rest of the restaurant and play several songs and as they would walk by me I was told they would be right back to play the 1 song for my mom. This happened 4 times. Just when I thought they would honor my request, they decided to take a break. After the break they played several other songs for other customers around the dining room and avoided returning to my table. They never did come back but kept my money. "Mariachi Aguila" - good but dishonest. Lesson: Hold your money until they play your request. read more

My husband and our friends eat here at least twice a week. They were one of the first to offer out door seating during the Covid. The servers are by far the best... they deliver when it comes to being friendly and all of our dining needs. The good is consistently delicious and served hot. We like the express lunch menu. It has a nice variety at a great price. My girl friend loves the margaritas... in her words the best. We're able to dine In Doors now. They deliver when it comes to the current covid19 serving rules. We love Rodrigo's! We go to both the Riverside La Sierra and Corona locations and both are great. They are both consistently excellent. Trying to watch my weight is easy at Rodrigo's with their Diet Tostada. It is so filling and I often substitute beans for the chicken. My husband loves the Seafood Chalupa Salad. It's kinda sad, this place is close to our home and when we want to have a quick fix for Mexican we would come here. Well probably going to find a new place. Their twist on a normal items isn't that great. It's either a sauce with cheese or they put condiment on top and then serve it under something else and warm. So, this place kind of a joke! The salsa is the consistency of water with like 2 huge chunks of tomato. My drink tasted like soapy water. The drinks were in really small cups and the "crispy" taco shell was really chewy with like one piece of shredded beef in it. There was a woman talking really loud on her cell phone and I heard someone ask the waitress if there was anyway of asking her to turn the volume down and she said she couldn't do anything but she'd tell the manager and he never came out. We told the girl at the front about it and she said there's like nothing we can do unless they're like using profanity or something. The food left something to be desired. Salsa and green sauce were sweet like they added sugar. Tomato based products and beans tasted canned. Bland. Food left me thinking, "ehh." Didn't taste bad, just didn't taste good. I like spicy and food full of flavor. This place did not have either. It does have its place for some people, otherwise it wouldn't be in business. It was the experience that gained the low score. The food was great and looked beautiful. The waiter for our group was not to helpful and maybe had too many big groups to serve well. We hardly saw our one server. The server hardly came by to see how we were doing and we only got one extra refill for some drinks. Also, I had to stay longer than the rest of the group to get some money. After waiting I had to walk over to the server and ask where the change was and the server said the front cashier area had it, but I still had to wait while they tried to sort out which receipt was mine. Also someone in our group had a salad and asked for a carry out container. However the container given was very small and when asked for a slightly bigger container the server said that was all they had and said just crush the shell to fit. Than the server tried to crush it but the person told the server wait I will do it myself. I might try this place one more time, but not anytime soon. read more

I absolutely love the grilled fish tacos. They're delicious! Tonight I tried the tortilla soup which had great flavor but only two, very small pieces of chicken. The chips and salsa are unfortunately hit and miss. Sometimes the salsa is way too salty and the chips have been the oiliest I've had anywhere. They've occasionally been stale too. If the chips and salsa were consistently good this place would be the best. I frequent this location at least once a week and sometimes it great and others I'm sorely disappointed. read more

I ordered cheese enchilada combination plate. The beans were good. The tortillas tasted like they were old, the cheese (too much) was like bubble gum and the rice no flavor (box quick rice) I ordered the tortilla soup I think Nordstom makes it better.
