The food was ok, as a true Mexican I can appreciate real Home Cooked Mexican food, this was more Americanized Food I had the Lunch Special Tostada my friend had the chicken enchilada and taco . I ordered fajitas the menu said Chicken and $2.99 for shrimp And I requested to add shrimp Our waitress said " it's only shrimp " so I said ok . When I got home they had not included the flour tortillas. For the fajitas Good thing I had large Flour tortillas at home for my husband. It was lunch time it was getting busy. The decor was Mexican and they have patio sitting.

Dos Amigos. Blue Agave Margarita on the Rocks and a splendid glass of Don Julio Blanco for sipping.

The place was originally Don Jose's but became RODRIGO'S. My wife took me here as he family always ate here as Don Jose's. Great food and bold drinks. Their lunch express menu is fantastic. We ordered and received our meals in 10 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Large space for restaurant and bar area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Bar has nice selection of tequila and (my favorite) Mezcal. Service is always friendly.

I love coming to Rodrigues! The service is always great, and the food is consistently delicious. We came with family to celebrate two birthdays, and everyone loved their meals. The portions are very generous, and most of us even had leftovers to take home. It's always a great experience, and we look forward to coming back again!

One of the best enchiladas sauce i've eaten in a long time. The shredded beef was so soft and moist and tender. Tostada is always refreshing. Chili colorado is so flavorful. We were craving Mexican food and my husband likes this place so I decided to try it. I settled on a 3 item combo that included a tamale, crunchy shredded beef taco and crunchy ground beef taco with rice and beans. Cost $20.50 My husband got a 3 item combo as well that included 2 shredded beef tacos and a cheese enchilada. $20.50 My son got the kids bean and cheese burrito meal with fries. $6.95 Service was excellent! The servers were so nice and attentive. They brought us new chips as soon as they noticed we were low and the refilled our drinks regularly. The unlimited chips and salsa is great. I feel like the salsa could use a bit more spice. It's a little bland for my taste but my husband enjoyed it. Both crunchy tacos (ground beef and shredded beef) were excellent! I would definitely get them again. The Tamale was a miss for me. The masa was really thick and a little hard with no flavor. I would not get again but my husband thought it was okay. He said he would get it again. The rice and beans were also just okay for me but my husband and son really liked the beans. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, it was a great experience. The area we sat in had high backs and give a good amount of privacy. It would be a great date place because you can't hear or see the people next to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is also quite big and can accommodate large parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend eating here!

Food here is always absolutely fabulous. They are really the only ones that know how I love my simple cheese enchilada, but whatever you order comes out fantastic and it's always enough to take home for the evening because it's too much to eat at one sitting. If I am really lucky, I get my favorite server, which is a Isidora, I really hope I spelt that right! He is fantastic on top of it friendly personable, and I always reminds me to use my app! My family has always come to this place anytime a family member comes into town because it's one of our favorite spots!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always really clean and they have a lot of seating (and space for big parties too!).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is kind of small, but there is still a good amount of options to choose from. We came around 3pm on a Sunday and it was not super busy! We were sat fairly quickly and the food was also brought out in a decent amount of time. I tried their nachos for the first time today and the plate is HUGE, you could probably share them with 2-3 other people!! Also the fried ice cream was a good choice for dessert. Our server was also really helpful in answering any questions we had. Only thing I was a little disappointed by was the burritos. They seemed pretty plain as there wasn't much inside -- some were just chicken and beans, which is totally okay but for me personally I was expecting a little more for the price and size. I'm sure they were good but just didn't seem worth it to me.

Came here for happy hour . Sat in the bar area and received happy hour pricing plus lunch menu pricing before 4. I went with the fajitas . I had a choice of flour or corn tortillas I went with flour . I decided to upgrade my fajitas to shrimp best choice I made all week. Ha! They were grilled to perfection and fla-vor-ful! The plate came with sour cream, guacamole,and pico de gallo in cute little tortilla cups. Complimentary chips and salsa were given to the table and the chips were so good. As you can see from the photo I couldn't wait to dive in . I'm looking forward to returning. It has been too long.

Read all the reviews about how great the chili Colorado was great. Well I have to strongly disagree chunks of spiceless, flavorless chewy beef was the worst I've ever had will never recommend this place unless you like whitewashed Mexican food nothing authentic at all I've had dog food that taste better.You can get better from the little taco stands in Corona. read more

Pretty disappointed in the "fried" ice cream. They top it off with a huge dollop of whipped cream and an unnecessary tostada bowl. The fried part isn't fried. It tastes like they just rolled the ice cream in honey bunches of oats and made it look big with the add ons. Such a shame because it was warm and crispy before when the restaurant was Don Jose's. That was real fried ice cream. read more

This is pretty good Mexican food. Prices are good and chips & salsa are one of my fave in the area. Our teenagers like the Karaoke when they have it. Joint gets lit on those nights. We have ordered just about the entire menu after all these years. Everything has been good. I particularly like the Rigo's special. If you want a salad, add it. Their ranch and blue cheese dressing are super delish! Service is almost always on point. I love not having to wait on refills while eating. If it's a Friday/Saturday or holiday, expect to wait. read more

The server was very attentive and sweet. The coconut margaritas were amazing as were the churros and fried ice cream. However the beef in my salad was not eatable, my husbands chicken in his salad was not done. We were there for a birthday party and the restaurant did nothing her. So we will not be returning to this establishment and thank goodness no one got sick. read more

STAY AWAY FLIES IN DRINKS!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! UNSANITARY AND INSECT INFESTED!!!STAY AWAY!! DIRTY FOOD AND DRINKS!!!!! We came here this Sunday and ordered a few drinks from Javier only to find a fly lodged between the ice cubes in one of our drinks! Thinking that management would want to take care of the issue and just replace our drink we asked for a replacement. At the end of our meal we found out that I guess you have to pay for the drink even if it had a fly in it!!!! Even after I explained to management what had happened they didn't care!!!! We love this place. The food is great, the servers are friendly and helpful, the place is clean. This is our # 1 go to restaurant. An amazing coincidence happened.. We were in Carson City, Nev. at a Target. We got to talking to the cashier. We asked her about Mexican Restaurants to eat at. She gave us a name and then said.. "I'm from Riverside and I used to eat at Don Joses before I moved. I miss it." Dang! We told her that we're from Rivercity and that is our #1 restaurant!!!!!! read more

My boss has taken me to this restaurant twice for lunch. Here is what I found... - The place was clean - The service was good - I enjoyed the ambiance - Ordered taco and enchilada combination. Omg sooo bomb! I had the supreme burrito no chicken sub shrimp with green sauce! Still licking my lips! Fajitas were good and the mexi wings were PERFECT! I had the supreme margarita and it was just that a supreme margarita it was clear in color grand mariner on the side soooo refreshing on this Sunday and if I didnt have the kids i woulda had toooo many lol!! Office lunch is always the best at Rodrigo's. My favorite Salad is the Tritip salad, I crave it! My boss always gets the shrimp salad. They have lunch specials that hit the spot. This was once Don Jose's, a very old and well know restaurant in Riverside. It's been remodeled and updated with very nice dining areas including a large room that can be rented for events. Great food at good prices and good service. The parking is a bit sparse but acceptable. read more

I like the other Rodrigo's on Hamner better because when we try to come by here it sucks. we have showed up to this taco Tuesday location with friends and family 3 times over the last 2 months and they always close the taco Tuesday cart down early. One time we even ordered drinks and a salad and got the taco tickets from the server and when we walked up to have them make the tacos they weren't even there they closed it down early again... read more

Our family loves the friendly and accommodating staff at Rodrigo's in Riverside. They always make us feel like VIPs and they work hard to make sure everything is perfect. We eat at Rodrigo's about once every week and while we all have our favorites, there is enough variety on the menu to keep us coming in for something different once in a while. The food is consistently good and we love the complimentary chips and salsa. The pricing is very competitive and you can't beat the lunch express menu. We feel fortunate to have a neighborhood eatery of this quality and consistency. We are grateful that they have done everything possible to remain open during the Covid-19 crisis and we encourage everyone to continue patronizing them to insure their future success. This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The food is fantastic and the portions are huge. You need to sign up for their coupons because they make it even better because you can get 10 dollars off your bill. The staff is great too especially Frankie. My wife and I have been coming here for over 10 years and the food rarely disappoints. We drive 35 miles to get there and it is worth it. If you are anywhere near Riverside, Corona or Norco, you need to try it. We go at least twice a month. My wife and I usually get shredded beef tacos and chili Colorado and it is always fantastic. Don't forget flan at the end. read more

Very delicious. I normally get the beef fajitas, and recently tried the beef and chicken fajitas, beef was tender and juicy, chicken was moist and amazing. Come in during a game and enjoy some really good Mexican food. read more

I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. We changed our plans to 12pm. That's where things started going wrong in ways we couldn't have predicted. There was a huge line outside. All reservation holders, all waiting, none being told anything useful. We stood there for over an hour. This restaurant enforces a 90-minute table limit, so the only way reservations run 60 minutes behind is if you sold more tables than you have. When they finally seated us, they walked us to the very back of the restaurant to plastic folding picnic tables and plastic chairs. The furthest possible seats, out of sight from the mariachi stage. Then we asked for the brunch menu. The server looked surprised, "We're out of the brunch menu. Everyone ordered the same thing." You promoted a brunch, and everyone ordered brunch? Shocking lol. We had to order off the regular menu instead. Our reservation was at 12pm, we sat down at 1:05pm and I finally got my meal at 1:30pm. There were several mistakes to our orders. One person at our table got the grilled shrimp. They served it raw and he sent it back. He ended up not eating and left without a meal. One of the staff was telling frustrated customers that this is simply what you should expect on Mother's Day. No accountability. Just the excuse that wanting a functional experience on a holiday is your fault for going out. This made it worse. And the mariachi? They stopped playing five minutes after we finally sat down. The same guy who told us this to lower our standards told us the band was on a 15-minute break. That break lasted 50 minutes. They came back to play right as our plates were being cleared away. Remember, we were seated in the very back, nowhere near the stage. The band finally made their way toward us just as we were asking for the check. They comped a few items and brought complimentary dessert. It didn't matter by then. This is a bar and lounge that decided to become a holiday brunch venue for one day. The grandmothers in that line didn't come for the lounge atmosphere. They came for the brunch and the mariachi -- the two things this restaurant completely failed to deliver. But I'd bet the staff is somewhere high-fiving each other for surviving a busy shift, convinced we all got exactly the Mother's Day we deserved for daring to go out. We still spend $300. We fell for the trap. And the portions were not large enough, so we went down the street to an Irish pub after and ate some appetizers to make up for it. Better to stick with family restaurants that have experience with special occasions.

My husband and I went to Roderigo's yesterday for dinner we normally go to the one in corona but since this is closer to us in Riverside we decided to try this one. Our waiter Judy was horrible we asked for one water and one soda she asked me what I wanted to drink I said water and I was going to share the soda she then proceeded to tell me while just to let you know there's no refills on sodas so did you want one I said no as I said we are going to share. That is not the way your waiter should start with her guest. She never came to our table to ask us how we were doing and till the end. At the end when we were paying for our meal there is a paper that says join our new fiesta club on it it says sign up on the website and receive five dollars off of your email or fill out form below to get the five dollars off when I brought it up to another waiter that had came to get our money which was not our waiter she said oh now you don't get that until after I said it does not state that on this paper it says if you fill it out you get five dollars off she went and asked Mgr Nacho, And he said we do not get 5.00 dollars off, even though that's what it says on the card. Went there for Lunch last Friday, we sat at the bar (yes with social distancing) Javier one of the best bar tenders was there. Alfredo and Armando are the other two. Had the taco with carnitas and Bob had the tacos. Our Margaritas were great as usual and the food was hot and good too. They seem to stand back and not make too much conversation but that is understandable with this COVID-19. I know there are other Rodrigos like in Murrieta, but I will drive to Riverside. Our favorite go to place for the best tasting, consistently delicious mexican food. Never disappointed by the fast friendly service. Been a customer since the 1980"s!!! We have celebrated birthdays, weddings and reunions here and can always depend on Rodrigos (we still slip up and call it Don Jose's) to give us the best dining experience for our friends and family.
