Unfortunately I got severe food poisoning here on Friday. I got a beef taco and a chicken taco. My boyfriend had beef flautas and he was fine, so it was the chicken. I had to be hospitalized. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I don't recommend taking that risk. read more

The food tastes great- as far as you can get here in the Temecula area without having to drive into San Diego. But the service is seriously lacking. Both times we've come here its taken forever for the server to greet us and then take our orders. And when I say forever, I mean more than 5 minutes. Yes, my standards are higher, I've worked in food service before. But when you're hungry and really wanting to get your order in, that 5 minutes can seriously feel like a lifetime. We'll be back though only because we like the food and the restaurant is always empty. So its worth it. read more

Came here on Saturday for dinner and I will say customers service was awesome! You can tell all the waiters work together as a team! So my review is based on food and food alone! If you like Taco Bell bell food for 10 times the price then this place is for you! I honestly could have had a better meal at Taco Bell. Nothing authentic about this place. The beans definitely came from a can and the rice just tasted like white rice with tomato sauce thrown into it! My husbands burrito was filled with the same nasty beans and rice and hardly any meat. So needless to say we won't be coming back and we will stick to Baja Cactus in Temecula or Provecho in Sun city. read more

I've eaten here a couple of times and on all occassions the food has been okay (nothing to write home about), but the service was always attentive and the prices are reasonable. If you really want to try Rodrigo's, I would recommend coming during brunch. Same menu but with unlimited (!) champagne. :) read more

I had heard about this restaurant from my coworkers who rave about it. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm and waited about 4-5 minutes before our server greeted us. She was pleasant enough and seemed genuine. I immediately noticed that this server had been given way too many tables. I looked around and observed not one person being assisted. We finally got our drinks and placed our order. I was beginning to wonder if we had to ask for chips and salsa when another server finally placed some on our table. I have a rule about Mexican restaurants, you can always tell how good the food will be by the salsa. This was atrocious. It was literally smashed tomatoes with a hint of black pepper and cilantro. I should have gotten up then and left. I proceeded to order the supreme fajitas, a combination of chicken, steak and shrimp, served with tortillas, rice and beans. The dish arrived and the re fried beans were the worst I had ever tasted. There was no rice to be seen, guess they just forgot about it. The fajitas were oily and had way too many onions and peppers. The steak was so overcooked, it was inedible. I waited and waited for the server to return to see how we were doing and she just never did. We had to flag down another server to ask our server to come to our table. I mean I really felt sorry for this server, she just had too many tables to take care of. We tell her the problems and she tells the manager to come over. I explain how horrible my food is and he graciously takes the meal off the bill. Thank goodness as it was $18.75 for an overcooked oily mess! He gives me a coupon for "buy one get one free lunch or dinner" that expired in four days. I love this place. The chips and salsa are delicious! The chips are never stale and always fresh. The margaritas are divine and the chicken quesadillas are scrumptious. I've never left dissatisfied. The waiters are very attentive and have cool shirts! Seating is very quick as well. read more

This is our first time trying Rodrigo we were not impressed with the food, we ordered the three combo item with 3 hard shell tacos, beef, chicken and carnitas. The beef & chicken barely had any meat in it but carnitas was way too salty..and the shell wasn't even crunchy it was partially crunchy and hard to chew. The Mexican rice had too much tomato.. the restaurant is beautiful and I was glad it was playing at Mexican authentic music added more to the ambiance... but as for me returning I highly doubt it. read more

Service was horrible tonight--or I should say total lack of it. I waited 30 mins before my husband went and asked a server about the delay. To top it off, a couple who had just been seated rec'd their drinks before us. I asked for no lemon with my iced tea,got lemons. Asked for sweetener for my iced tea..got none. Had to ask, again and waited. Finally had my husband get up and get some at the bar. The couple that had just walked in got their dinner before us. My food was not hot. My husband even noticed that the server used his bare hands to place the plates onto the table--no pads needed. Horrible, horrible. The server that took our order did not believe I had waited 30 mins at the table. I did. Awful dining experience tonight. Had to wait and wait for my bill. The other couple..they got their bill. I had to go inside and ask for the bill. My husband had long gone left--he tired of waiting so long...Shameful...no apology for any of it. Tried this place for the first time and was not impressed at all. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to even come to our table to take the drink order and it wasn't even busy. Food is decent. Just like any other Mexican restaurant chain. Nothing fancy or spectacular about the food. Save your time and money and just go to Roberto's if you want some good Mexican food. read more

Outstanding Mexican restaurant! The service is excellent. Overall, this is one of the best "family restaurants" we have the pleasure of patronizing. Most appreciated is the consistent great flavor of the food. I suspect that they always use very fresh, high quality ingredients in the food preparation to achieve the good taste. The quality of the food is usually what would be expected from a high-end restaurant but the prices are surprisingly reasonable for that quality. You can't miss with this place. read more

I've been waiting a while to review Rodrigo's because I'm always reluctant to blast a place for bad food or service, but my experience at Rodrigo's a few months ago was so disappointing. My family just moved to the area and we had high hopes. We entered a beautiful, contemporary Mexican restaurant that had a nice vibe and a sign that said "Best of... " something. Impressive. Not really. I'll cut to the chase... everything tasted like it was from a can. If you like canned beans, instant guacamole, frozen or pre-cooked everything, this is your place. I sent the guacamole back. It tasted like rotten vegetables. Our server cringed every time she brought a plate like she somehow new that is was horrible. If I saw this place on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares I would not be surprised. So sad. Slow service, bad food but nice decor. read more

So when we moved to the area - this was the first Mexican sit-down place we tried. Wow - what a pretty lackluster experience. Wait staff was sllllllloooooooooow. The food was pretty terrible. Fast forward one-year later. I turned to my wife and said: "maybe we should try them again - they are so close (literally less than a mile away) - and maybe it was just an off night." Nope - even worse the second time. We literally looked at each other and said "don't forget this - lets never come back." It was just terrible food, terrible service - everything. very disappointed. expecting authentic mexican food I received what seemed like microwave TV dinner material so called food. Growing up with real authentic mexican food, this franchise has forgotten the true meaning of quality and has gone to the quantity and numbers of plates they put out. The rice is generic, the beans have no taste and the prices are very high. The chips are ok, can't go wrong with chips, although they get you full so when your food arrives and you are dissapointed you will ask for take out boxes, the salsa is tomato's in from a can, very generic. For true Mexicans looking for a home style cooked meal, don't bother going. Mariachi is loud, but ok. read more

We have been here 2 times since we moved here and its nothing to write home about but there food is really good and there hot salsa has lots of flavor and there waiters and waitress are really nice. and on Sunday it is a blast!! also the large Margarita is yummy and watch out!!! read more

Took my wife here since I've been seeing coupons for the place for some time now, so I gave it a try. The place is in a nice location and the atmosphere was typical. The inside looked very nice. No complaints about staff. Now with all that set aside. If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends and don't care much for food. You may be in luck. If you're a Mexican food fan, don't expect much flavor to hit you in your mouth. Chips and salsa basic. We got the fajitas which came with rice and beans. I gave the beans a good taste test, very disappointing, no flavor. Fajita chicken bland. I got a glass of horchata, watered down tasting. So to sum it up, this place should be renamed Rodgringos, because you wont get any authentic Mexican flavors from this place. read more

First time here. Had a two item combo plate. The chili relleno was delish as were the beans and rice. Normally I don't like the rice but did this. My other item was a shredded beef taco. There I was disappointed. The corn tortilla was greasy and the meat was dry. Hubby had the burrito supreme and it was packed full of shredded beef and chicken. More than he could eat, it was so large. Oh, their chips were fresh, light, and wonderful but their salsa was very poor. Big hunks of stewed tomatoes and no taste. They really need to get some decent salsa. read more

Very good service and atmosphere. It has a large back room for larger groups to dine. Food was good and flavorful. Recommend for a quiet evening with your spouse and friends. They also have senior specials before 6pm during the week days for those who would like an early dinner. read more

I've been to Rodrigo's a few times and it was amazing. The food is the best, I love the ultimate burrito! But since I'm young I always get bad service. I got a server my last visit named Michael and he was the best customer service I've had in a while. Treated us like royalty and it made me want to come back. We ate here for dinner with some friends and were really surprised on how fast the service was. Our waiter was super friendly and gave us some good recommendations. Went there a little over a year ago after our daughter was born and didnt go back until today, now we remember why. The food wasnt horrible although extremely greasy! the service was a shamble, our server failed to be attentive to the additives that were offered in the meal and instead of asking what we preferred, he chose for us. then when we asked for our check it took forEVER to receive it and then when we were ready to pay he took forever to pick up our payment....i donno....i doubt we will be there ever again unless its for a happy hour round of drinks ONLY! read more

Came here for dinner with my girlfriend and her kids, after her co worker said she ate at the location in Corona and said it was good. We arrived around 6pm, and were really suprised how nice the place looked, we sat down got chips and salsa and we were very dissapointed on the salsa, it tasted like it was out of a jar. We ordered 2 margaritas when they came, they were just ok. It took a long time before our server came by to take our order, we ended up ordering the albondigas soup, a side salad, the beef and chicken fajitas that we split, the kids had a cheese enchilada, and cheese quesadilla. The soup was just ok, the side salad was just lettuce, cheese and dressing, the fajitas were just ok with too much veggies, and the kids dinners were bland. The worst part of the whole evening was that the server never came by, had to chase down the busboy just to get more chips and water, and this place was not busy. We had such great expectations from this place and were greatly dissapointed Would not come back. read more

This is pretty much my favorite weekend place for dinner and margaritas, and now having come for about 2 years, the service is excellent, the staff are all very friendly, and since we go soooo much they know the order of our whole table without even having to ask. The manager is great too, I think he really selects great staff because everyone seems glad to work there and there is evident teamwork amongst them. read more
