I have been here twice and I had a better experience the 1st time. The hostess with blonde hair is snobby & stuck up. She was not friendly at all. My son & I asked her what certain cakes were since there were no names on anything and she seemed like it was so hard for her to answer us. My son also mentioned to me that she was rude. She acted as if she had better things to do when she was just standing there not doing a thing! On another note the lady who rang me up was very nice & sweet! My son & I got chocolate mousse & hazelnut. Both were very good! However, my son mentioned that where we were sitting smelled like butt. Terrible shakshuka. Tasted like it came out of a can and the eggs were completely overcooked. The boreka was good, but the hard-boiled EDD that came with it was a strange dirty brown white color. Service was super slow and I was out of water for 20 minutes before someone came by. It also took us a very long time to get our food. Being a carnivore I was disappointed to find that this restaurant was basically non-meat (fish being the only "meat" on the menu). I ordered the burrekas platter and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiter first brought a basket of rolls with 3 small salads. Then the burrekas arrived. They were served with a lovely Israeli salad, and a hard boiled egg cut in quarters. There were about 10 burrekas on the plate with fillings of cheese, potato and spinach. I meant to take some home with me but they were so delicious I couldn't stop eating them. Meanwhile over at the other side of the table, my mom had the eggplant tahini. She enjoyed it but added salt as she thought it was a bit bland. The waiter said he was new but was very friendly and got our order right. On the way out we picked up a couple of pastries for this evening. All the pastries looked delicious and it was difficult to decide. I ended up getting the chocolate mouse' and Mom got the Tirimisu. read more

Basically, Roladin.....while most people really love your "chic" or "modern" decor and your pastry case etc. I care a lot more about your food, and that's okay.... Because while your food is moderately over-priced it's also high quality and prepared fresh, hot, and as you I like it. Delicious. Falafel Sandwich: Crispy/soft bagget.. the kind of bagget you wish every bagget tasted and crunched like. Hot Falafel, flavorful and crispy. Hummus that was note-worthy. Little "Israely pickles" I don't know, I was a little dubious but they added a balance of addicity to the mostly starchy sandwhich, it was good choice. The salad that came on the side was fresh and crisp but nothing exciting. It would have been better with baby greens instead of ice burg lettuce, and a dressing you could actually taste. Zuchini soup: Hot and creamy, needed some salt but it was perfect for the rainy day. Tasted like lentil soup with zuchini in it. Mashed Potatos: Hard to go wrong! Delicious, full of butter and herbs. LOOOOVe starchy foods. mmmmmm empty carbs. Love the tea with "nana" .... aka lipton black tea with mint leaves in it. Very comforting and soothing. My favorite par.... DESSERTS!!!!!! Chocolate raspberry mousse: OMG DROOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Topped with a fresh raspberry and some raspberry syrup, followed by a layer of the fluffiest, seciest chocolate mousse ever, with other little raspberries weaved into it. The bottom was a dark chocolate cake... fluffy but still indulgent. Plated with strawberry syrup, and fresh cut strawberries. Awwww I want you now. Large fruit tart: All fresh fruit, with the typical glaze over it. And the custard in between was creamy and custardy. The special part about this tart, that makes it unlike other typical fruit tarts, the inner part of the crust was lined with dark chocolate. What you say? Yes, Dark chocolate. Crunchy cookie crust with chocolate. Yum. As for the atmosphere, personally to me, I like cafe's and bakeries to feel more quaint, comfortable, and welcoming. Roladin.... Cute cafe in the middle of a not-the-cutest shopping center. Beautifully decorated with curtains outside on the patio that doesn't remind you that Party City is right across the parking lot. Large menu to choose from, ranging from light bites to full meals to drinks / smoothies and desserts / bakeries. Baked cakes and tarts come in large and mini sizes (you can get a mini sampler dessert platter with 5 mini cakes/tarts), or cookies/biscuits can be bought by weight. Pastries such as croissants and rolls look delicious as well! Fruit tart was my favorite, but all their baked goods are well-prepared and beautifully adorned. Comfortable interior and seating. Hot espresso drinks or smoothies are also available. For the food, I've only tried the salmon wrap, which was very fresh and flavorful. Very friendly people. Definitely overpriced but still a good local cafe to just hang out and relax. They use to have these large screen tvs outside but for some reason they got rid of them. This is a great place to linger for weekday coffee and breakfast although I wish their drip coffee was a bit better. Love their omelette sandwich - the bread is fantastic. We've sampled several of their bakery items and much prefer the savory goods (breads/rolls) over the sweet goods. The chocolate chip rugglach are delicious, however the cookies are standard, the tiramisu was just okay and the slice of red velvet cake was several days past fresh. Service is attentive a friendly without being pushy. I hope more places like this continue to open up in this part of the valley. Not everyone wants to schlep to The Blvd for breakfast. read more

I'm always up for some baked goods so when there's a new bakery in town, you can bet that I'll make a beeline to check it out!. Roladin is uber cute, clean, and pretty new. The glass counter is filled with delicious baked goods, cookies, cakes, and pies. They all looked so good that it's pretty difficult to pick which one to snack on. There was some sort of confusion as to how to order since it's both a sit-in and pick-up restaurant. We were asked how many in our party, was brought to a table, and there we sat...for a long while. After it was obvious that we're not getting served, I asked one of the hostess on how to order. Apparently all orders are taken at the counter and when ready, it will be brought to the table. Okay...no biggie then. Just wish someone would told us earlier. I ordered a mini fruit tart and my friend had a slice of chocolate cake. Both were beautifully decorated and presented (chocolate swirls and flower patterns on the serving plate). My fruit tart was very good; full of fruit with a almost-too-sweet glaze. The chocolate cake was very rich...sort of stick to your ribs rich. The service itself was spotty and slow. Our server seemed to think that once she brought us our sweets, she can ignore us or disappear. The prices for our treats was borderline outrageous. My mini fruit tart was $5.95 while my friend's chocolate cake was $8. For that price, I could have bought him an entire chocolate cake at a nearby supermarket. Roladin does have alot of yummy baked goods and a full coffee bar. The slow and rather crappy service and high prices cost them 2 stars. It's not the best. And it's certainly not a place I would go out of my way to get to. I was out with my cousins and we were in dire need for some sweets, desserts, whatever. We originally wanted to go to the Yogurtland across the street but it closed at 10. This place is open till late. So that earned some brownie points. Service was "meh" but I never expect A+ service from people working after 10 pm anyway. They seemed a little annoyed that we couldn't decide what to get. You can't blame us, there were a billion choices of pastries we've never seen before & NO names! Plus, it wasn't like we weren't the only ones there. We were the only ones ordering. Ambiance/decors are nice. Wannabe modern and chic. I got half a dozen cookies and ended up only really liking one of them.. To top it off, it's pretty pricey. IF, and only IF, I come back here. Avoid! 4 out of 5 stars is not accurate, even 3 stars would be a stretch. Our food was not fresh. The Israeli salad tasted like it was in the fridge for a few days. The bagel was definitely frozen with ice - it was toasted to resemble the stiffness of a rock. The atmosphere reminds me of Europe/Israel which is cool. But man the food sucks so bad. All they need to do is cut their menu down from 10 pages to 1 page and make everything fresh. I will never go back. read more

Roladin is an excellent bakery in the West Valley where there are, in my opinion, hardly any good bakeries around. Not sure who runs the show here, but everyone is very friendly and helpful. I mostly buy my pastries and run, but on a couple of occasions I've sat down to enjoy a meal. I love their Smoked Salmon Scramble - full of fresh herbs and salty bits of salmon. Their pastas and paninis are all pretty awesome. The creamy pasta sauce is an indulgence, just like their desserts. Not a fan of their fruit tart, but their cheesecakes, mousses, and cookies are all winners. If you sit outside, you can watch DVD concerts on the two big screen TV's they have hanging on the wall. Lots of vegetarian and pesca- options and the food is pretty good. My main gripe is that the staff and owner sometimes condone smoking on the patio, despite this clearly being against the law and their own signage. If you ask, they will enforce the rule, but it clearly wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't selectively enforced. It's dog friendly, which is a plus, but the couches outside are in serious disrepair and kind of gross. read more

My 1st time here and I really like it. Good coffee and an intriguing Israeli menu. I had super toasted raviolis. I think it feels very Euro & Mediterranean. While the menu is VERY expansive (I wonder who the raven-haired cutie is in menu photo's. Maybe the owners' daughter?) their pastry case seems to be the big draw! I have gone there since it first opened, and I have yet to be disappointed. I haven't tried their food food, but their dessert pastries are super delicious! My mom and me stop by here once in a while and grab a something sweet to treat ourselves! I always like to try a different pastry or dessert each time, and each is more delicious than the last. My favorite was their fruit tart which was soooooo good. The whole place is really quaint, and the way it looks is something too nice to be in a strip mall in Reseda. The whole place has an open feel, and it's a nice surprise when you find it. The staff are all really nice.. Whether we are getting something to go or dining in, they're all very helpful. I don't go here as often as I'd like, but when I do, it's always a sweet treat! read more

Located in a strip mall with lots of parking and a friendly staff to come with. I have yet to try eating a meal here but the tables I did see enjoying the savory food looked delicious.
