COVID times review: When we visited the coffe shop WA already reopen business, so masks are not mandatory anymore BUT as a matter of caution this place requires customers to mask up and IT'S OK. We all are taking care of each other. I didn't see the signs that says "ONE CUSTOMER AT A TIME" oops! But then other customer did the same thing, and I felt better. So yeah, because the space is quite small, waiting line is outside the shop. The coffee was great, as well as the pastries (pan au chocolat, croissants, apple muffins and chocolate chip cookie) I'd say that it's worth to wait if you see a wait line, you'll get your order in a pretty decent time. Also while you wait you can take a look to the plants and flowers from the next door shop. I saw on their menu they also have egg sandwiches I may go back to try them ;)

The morning bun! They have one of the best morning buns! Flakey texture on the outside and almost doughy on the inside on some parts, such a great combo. The place has outdoor seating and man, it was super cold but a nice warm Cuban sandwich helped us beat the cold, on our way to our hike! Definitely a nice stop before continuing the day!

Farm Kitchen items....should have followed their advice 18 years ago! (6/16/18)

This is for a quick detour for a grande iced mocha heading back towards Bremerton. (6/16/18). I had stopped in at the adjacent Bay Feed and Hay Nursery the previous Saturday. Both places were cool to checkout...both cool interesting and cool standoffish. Clearly I'm not a local resident, both individuals at this indie cafe were servicable but didn't exude any welcoming warmth. Three stars. The extra star was due to receiving an end product mocha that was on point...not cloying, could taste the balance with smooth finish. They use Grounds for Change beans. Cafe featured Farm Kitchen products and other baked goods. There's only outdoor seating. Reminded me of Cafe Bambino in Seattle. Started a stamp card. Four starts total. The stop was long enough to make that assessment of a decent iced mocha, plus make a cell phone call before hitting the road again.

Coffee before 8:00 am!

This is the closest coffee shop in the neighborhood. They do a consistently good job on their espresso drinks. Their baked treats, sandwiches and other drinks are good as well. They have very little space inside. However, they have a wonderful, covered seating area outdoors over looking the neighborhood nursery. So, it's a great place to hang out and and enjoy the passing of the seasons. The owners are dedicated to the Rollingbay neighborhood, and contribute mightily to the community. As other reviewers notice, they do struggle sometimes with the warm and cheerful part of the business. Perhaps some upbeat music?

We stopped in at the Rolling Bay Cafe after a quick jaunt through Bay Hay and Feed and it was a very nice little spot. A good number of coffee and beverage options as well as plenty of small sandwiches and pastries. Extra star for the great patio outside on which to enjoy aforementioned delicacies!

There is no seating inside, but some seating in the nursery outside, which can make it a super spot to visit.

Over the past couple of years, I've had all manner of cakes, pastries and pies from Blackbird. In…read morefact, it's almost a given that when I encounter a tasty pie or pastry at a friend's house on Bainbridge, when I ask, it's almost a given that it came from Blackbird. They're expensive, but the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to Blackbird. You may pay more than you might somewhere else, but their quality is exceptional. Today I stopped by for one of their quiches--their spinach and goat cheese--and a lemon blueberry scone. Both were super yummy. I often get one of their chais too, which are also quite tasty (and not at all dry, a common problem with scones). Having Blackbird downtown makes it quite convenient to just stop by while on the way to elsewhere. But sometimes it can be a destination if...you can find seating, which is at a premium most of the day.

It's clear this was the case for others as well, as there was a large line extending outside the door onto the sidewalk when we arrived around 10:00 a.m. I ordered their multigrain toast with jam along with a savory croissant. The toast comes heavily buttered and the savory croissant for the day was topped with the fillings you'd fine in a spanakopita -- i.e. spinach and feta. I really loved the thickness of the toast slice and the degree that they toasted it: soft and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They did not hold back from including a bunch of seeds in the bread, and that added a nice texture in every bite. The jam is on the sweeter side, but I like that it's on the side so you can control exactly how much sweetness you want to add. The savory croissant had good flakiness to it, but it would have been nice if we had an option to have it toasted. Overall, very good bakery that I'd gladly visit again if I'm back on Bainbridge Island. Definitely get the toast.

My quiche had undersalted eggs, strange-tasting cheese, and a crust that ate as if it were microwaved. And my brother didn't finish his mocha - which is just so rare for him - and he described it as Swiss Miss. On top of that, we waited a good 20 minutes for our disappointing food and drinks. The struggling sole person working the bar, the oven, and the register really needed a coworker. It was a typical cafe vibe inside. One guy taking a FaceTime, a party of 10 rekindling old connections, and couples spending their morning together.

Plenty of warm (and cold) drinks, and a reasonable breakfast and lunch menu. You order at the counter, but they will bring it to your table. Cons: I ordered a sandwich--the turkey BLT--which was okay, but just okay. On non-descript wheat bread, bagged lettuce (which was a little wilty), and a round of processed turkey. Bacon seemed reasonably freshly cooked, however. Upshot: nice place to hang, especially with a warm beverage in hand. I would go again just for that, and likely will. As for lunch--which, granted, I only tried one of their sandwiches--there are much better sandwich options on the Island.

We were asked to go to the stall ahead after paying due to "waiting on more fries". We waited 20 mins. No drive through fast food should take 20 mins. The owners and managers truly don't give a crap. This is literally the worst McDonald's location in Kitsap!!! Everyone here agrees. Nothing but attitude and trash everywhere. Bathrooms are not clean, homeless harass you as you walk in. Nothing but a health and safety hazard. Even the inner city Bremerton locations are better than this one. Every time I've been here, it's been a huge wait for no reason. Today's order was no exception. When I walked in, no one was in the drive thru, yet they prioritized every new order in the drive thru over my mobile order. Employees tried to hide behind the wall, when I asked for help. I saw every car pull up and drive thru. Completely crazy! I was there over 30 minutes waiting on a mobile order for a medium fries and small McFlurry. When the guy finally did do my McFlurry, it looked like less than half the cup and looked strange. Who knows what he did to it. I threw away everything...so disgusting! There were no managers anywhere! Very poorly managed store. This has been every experience for me...employees just talking to themselves and laughing at customers. The food is always cold and the quality is awful! Save your money. Drive a little further to the Poulsbo location which is way better. Don't come here!
