Two stars overall for the donuts and service. Was down to visit relatives and the nephew wanted Rolling Pin after dinner and we were nearby. He and his friends are regulars. We made our way through the line and placed our orders of the humongous chocolate chip donuts. Cashier said that they weren't ready but in the 15 seconds it took us to make another choice the chocolate chip were ready! We asked that they be put into bags separate from our other items. Well the cashier put the donuts ON the bags and not in them. We asked why and he said they were still hot. We told him we can't drive home this way and he was going to charge us more for boxes! A three star deduction for the poor, rude, hostile, non communication. Plenty of other choices in town to frequent. read more

I was super excited to finally visit their new establishment in Ventura. It was a Saturday morning around 9:00am. I ordered my black coffee and a half dozen donuts. I couldn't wait to get into the car and take my first bite with a sip of my coffee. i selected the maple cake donut took my first bite and it was cold an my first thought was this is a day old donut or they just took out of the refrigerator. Needless to say I will not be going back. I did notice that the employee took the donut off of the tall rack that was free standing. Not out of the case the donuts were in. Pretty disappointed in my recent experience. The quality is not what it used to be and the experience/ service is not worth the wait. The cronut was dry and the majority of the other doughnut varieties we ordered were over baked or seemed old. Aside from the cute vibe of the older building and waiting outside in line, there isn't anything spectacular about this place. Nothing you can't get from any other doughnut spot. When ordering it's hard to communicate what you want and the cashier. They're not very accepting of making a change or correction to what you're ordering. I get they need to move people through the line, but they could benefit with streamline their process. A suggestion would be numbering each row or variety on both the outside (so the guest can see it) and having the same number on the back side (so the cashier can see the matching number). read more

Finally stopped after years of driving past on my way back to Orange County, and so glad I did. Luckily there was no line or wait at that moment, the large drip coffee was good and they added cream to my liking. I opted for the apple fritter, my favorite (they have a small and a large size) and it was very yummy. They vibe was friendly, old-school donut shop, and it was perfect. Enjoyed the coffee and apple fritter all the way on the 101 & 405. Will definitely be my new spot for the drive home. read more

Wow, such a little hole-in-the-wall building stuck in front of an auto repair shop in Camarillo. We've driven by it a zillion times, and it's ALWAYS closed. I found out why. When I was employed, we never drove by on a work day; it was always a weekend. Now that we saw it was open and stopped there, I saw a small sign stating they are closed every Saturday and Sunday between 12-4 p.m., which was always within the range of time we'd drive by. Now it all makes sense, and once again, I'm smiling that I've retired, so we can discover a whole new world of.... WHATEVER.... that is now there for us to find during the week. More importantly, I'm NOT usually a donut fan. Never have been, but because my husband is, we had to stop here cuz he heard how great this place allegedly is, and who am I to squelch his search for the perfect donut. I will NEVER EVER like cake donuts, but I can be persuaded to having a bite or 2 of a cronut, a maple or chocolate yeast donut, or an apple fritter... but it's usually not ever a whole one of those. A nearly 5 star rating usually grabs my attention, so I'll try these. We bought a strawberry cronut, an apple fritter, and a yeast donut with chocolate ganache and chocolate chips on top. The cronut was amazing. It had crunch, it had a soft, fresh texture too, and it had lots of flavor. The chocolate donut was soft, fresh and perfectly chocolatey. The apple fritter, however, while fresh, was somewhat heavy and kind of had that fried aftertaste or after-texture. I didn't care for that, but I sure loved the other two. I'm not sure I'd qualify as a donut connoisseur, but the Rolling Pin definitely seems to know what they're doing. I'm glad I tried them. read more

Doughnut are good would rate a 5 except the cashier a chubby bearded long hair pale man was very racist. Mocking me as I tried to order and when I told him which doughnuts I wanted he proceeded to say "No" and then rudely got the doughnuts and just left them on the counter not saying anything except pulling up the payment. We just got back from buying a few of their donuts. We were second or third in line. We knew what we wanted. So we ordered away. When questions came up as to which flavor we said one of each. That's to make things easy for the guy taking the order. Also there was a line forming fast! They open at 6pm. Unlike other donut stores that opens at 4am. So when you get the cravings after dinner they're there to take care of you! Although be careful and make sure that you check your order before you leave. The dude can't keep up with multiple orders. LITERALLY THE BEST DONUTS IN THE WORLD!!!! Long story short, a friend bought me one of their blueberry glazed donut years ago, and I instantly fell in love. Rolling Pin is such a cute little, hidden gem of a shop. The staff are helpful and friendly. I love how we can watch them make fresh donuts right through the windows. My all time favorite is their classic blueberry glaze; a dozen of those alone will change your life. Next up, is their blueberry crumble glaze, so fantastic and just different enough from their classic. Then we have their white sprinkle cake-y version. Omg, it was unlike any other sprinkle I've ever had. The dough tastes so special. Idk what it is. Maybe the thickness. Maybe the chewy, but perfect texture. Definitely packs all the sprinkle favor you want, and then, some! Their classic white sprinkle is next. Last, but not least, idk what it's called, but it looks like a small loaf of crumbled glazed bread; and it tastes amazing. Basically make sure you buy a dozen. Get two of each, because I guarantee you'll want another one of each for later. Oh and I almost forgot, the best--and most dangerous for my figure--part...they are open 24/7!!!! Wow!! A wonderfully DELICIOUS donut shop. I had heard of it but never had gone as I'm not a big donut person. My friends and I headed over because we had a late night sugar craving. It was about 11:15pm when we went and I was shocked with how busy they were. The donuts were quite simply the best donuts I have EVER had. They were extremely fresh and had a huge variety. We got the tiger tail, chocolate log, and glazed log. The tiger tail was massive!! I was so impressed with the taste and quality. One of my favorite parts was you were actually able to see the donuts being made. Even at 11:15 at night, they were still making them!
