We visited Rom Mai Thai on June 9th after completing our Alaskan cruise. We were walking around Seattle and decided to stop here for lunch. When we got there the restaurant was about to close in about an hour and a half. There was one other party there, and what we noticed is that this restaurant had a lot of to go orders. Multiple people were going in and out within that last bit of time before they closed to get ready for dinner While we were there we got combo v that was the pad thai and the swimming Rama vegetables. We also added a papaya salad as a starter because it looked amazing based on the pictures I saw online. Every bit of food we had was perfectly balanced with sweet, savory, spicy, and the extra hint of citrus where needed was perfect. I never had swimming Rama vegetables before and the sauce they were in was so scrumptious. Our server was a complete gem. He knew that we were going to split portions of the meal and asked the chef to do that ahead of time. He also came to check on us multiple times even though his shift was about to end. The space itself was right and inviting with all the different decor and green that painted the walls. It was a very casual vibe and you could tell that a lot of heart was put into the space. If you are ever in the mood to try some delicious Thai food please come and check this place out.

Seafood Hor Mok...you can't compete with that. They are so nice. Customer service is top notch here. I sometimes get the Pad Kee Mao, Pad Se Ew or the any of their fried rices. Love this family owned restaurant.

Friendly, attentive, and kind service. Table seating only, no booths. Small, single stall bathrooms for men and women. Street parking down the block is free or pay to park on the road in front. Wasn't impressed with the food to be honest. I love pad Thai and unfortunately this lacked flavor and kind of bland. You have the choice of spice level up to four and I chose spice level 3 for my prawns pad Thai and didn't feel it was very spicy lol. Nice and quick service but food was lackluster so probably wouldn't return as I prefer other Thai restaurants.

I recently visited Rom Mai Thai and tried their Thai Kee Mao, and it was an absolute treat (could also be because I came back from a long day at the park. That's right across the street The dish was bursting with flavor and spice, perfectly balancing the heat with the savory notes of fresh basil, garlic, and chili. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with a satisfying chew that complemented the vibrant mix of vegetables and tender meat. The generous portion size made it great value for money, and the service was prompt and friendly. If you're looking for a dish that packs a flavorful punch, I highly recommend the Thai Kee Mao at Rom Mai Thai. I'll definitely be back for more!

*partially eaten* lunch combo A (sub pad see ew)

I love Rom Mai Thai. I started coming to this place when I would visit and grab dinner with my friend on the hill. Now that I've moved to the neighborhood, I come here at least 3x a month. Their food is delicious and the portions are a generous size. They don't charge more than most Thai restaurants which I appreciate because food has gotten so expensive these last 2 years. Definitely visit during their lunch hour if you can. My friend and I always order Combo A and substitute the pad Thai for pad see ew. Yes, I said SUBSTITUTE!! I've never had a lunch combo where you could change the item until I started coming here. The staff are all very kind and friendly. This place is truly a neighborhood favorite.

Came here last night with a friend. It was around 7pm on a Thursday, and the restaurant was pretty empty. We were craving Thai food and happened to be in the area, so we decided to come on a whim. The food was pretty good! We ordered the crispy spring rolls to start. They were piping hot and fresh. Slightly on the expensive side though for the size. We ordered pad see ew with chicken and pad kee mao with chicken, both medium spice level. The pad see ew tasted like traditional pad see ew I've had before. It had good flavor and the noodles were thick. The pad kee mao was pretty different than what I expected. Usually pad kee mao is a lot wetter and has a little bit thinner noodles, but these noodles were basically the same as the pad see ew noodles. The flavor was less intense than the pad see ew, so I wasn't the biggest fan, but they were pretty good still. Both of the dishes weren't spicy at all, so if you want spicy, you should probably order extra spicy. Next time, I would order a notch up in spice level. For capitol hill, this place isn't too expensive- the noodles were about $16, and we each paid about $23. For a no frills Thai place, I recommend coming here. I'd probably come back and try some of the other dishes like the fried rice or the curries. They have a pretty expansive menu with other special dishes, too.

Swimming Rama Noodle. To be frank this looks awful, but tastes fantastic

I've walked by this place many times, and always wondered what it would be like. Being forced to stay home, I wanted to explore my lunch options that were close by. At most Thai places, I would use the pad thai as a barometer to see how good the food really is, but the Swimming Rama Noodle really caught my eye. "Noodles, spinach, peanut sauce". It seemed so simple, could it really be good? To be honest with you, those items sound like an awful combo. If I put those three things together, there is NO WAY that they would taste good. I've had a lot of thai food in my life though, and I have faith in the thai cuisine's use of peanuts to make incredible food. I dropped by to secure my lunch, and was greeted with open arms (as a matter of expression I mean... they were incredibly nice, but also respectful of social distancing). After bringing back the food and popping it open, I realized that the presentation was very rough. That being said, there is absolutely no way that you can make this dish look pretty. Whatever, I was just looking to slam a ton of noodles, I didn't care what they looked like. This amalgamation of leafy greens and ultra thick peanut sauce was hearty and satisfying. After taking down this entire meal, there was 0 chance I was finishing any work for the rest of the day. I actually had to take a nap after. Give this place a try!!

Khao Soi was good too but I wasn't impressed- the noodles were not cooked too well and kinda stuck together, but it wasn't major. However seating was a bit confusing as you had to find an empty table and the server would bring you the food. When it was busy the line and wait got messy and it's possible to get your food without having a table so I don't recommend coming here when it's super busy There were around 8 tables and some bar seatings. You can see staff making the food over the counter and the ventilation was done well even with all the stir fry and cooking.

When entering they had a live keyboardist and singer playing Valerie which I was a fan of. We stopped in at 10pm on a week night and were sat right away and service was prompt and friendly. My boyfriend thought the sauce that came with the calamari was too spicy for his liking but for me it was super sweet and paired perfectly with the calamari. We enjoyed the appetizer thoroughly and I would say it was my favorite part of the meal. My man ordered his favorite Thai dish Panang chicken Curry spice level 1. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were looking forward to the bold flavors we've come to love. The visit started off a bit oddly. The front desk server, Tar, asked to see my wife's ID--even though she's 36 years old and we weren't seated in the bar area. It felt inconsistent, especially since younger guests nearby weren't asked, and it's something we've never experienced at their other locations. Unfortunately, moments like that made us feel singled out, and honestly it sometimes feels like they tend to pick on Asians, whether intentional or not. That feeling alone made the experience uncomfortable and will likely make this our last visit to this location. That said, the table service was excellent. Moo took great care of us, and Cece from the bar was attentive and kept our water filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, there were a few moments that took away from the experience. While I was taking photos of our dishes, a young staff member alongside Tar appeared to be giggling and mocking me, which made things uncomfortable. It may not have been intentional, but it didn't feel professional and only added to the awkward atmosphere we already felt. Food-wise, there were some inconsistencies. The chicken didn't taste as good as we remember, and several plates had visible fingerprints, which was off-putting. The galvanized metal plates also gave off a slightly unrefined feel--more like cafeteria-style serving ware. Additionally, the sticky rice, which is usually presented in a traditional bamboo basket, was served in a Ziploc bag, which felt like a downgrade in presentation. On a positive note, the papaya salad and pad Thai were still very good and delivered the flavors we expect. We'll continue supporting Isarn, but we'll likely return to the Kirkland or Lynnwood locations next time. Sadly, after this experience, this Queen Anne visit will probably be our last.
