Excellent food here!!!! We ordered three pizzas, the hot oil and scamorza pizza, the tartufo pizza, and a classic pizza with Serrano peppers and hot oil. When they said that pizza was spicy, we greatly underestimated the power of that pizza. My mom, a great spice lover and habitual eater, couldn't have it. So for people who are spice devils, go crazy! Our server, Braulio, was very kind and allowed us to exchange the pizza. The hot oil and scamorza pizza was my favorite. It has this delicious smoked mozzarella that left me craving more. The tartufo pizza , a white pizza with mozzarella, mushrooms, and truffle oil tasted really good as well. It was nice, creamy and pleasing without feeling too greasy. After our pizzas, my family tried the sfogliatelle, a dessert similar to a puff pastry with a lemony, citrusy filling, as well as a gelato with dulce de leche and chocolate flavors with a cannoli shell and Nutella. Both desserts tasted heavenly! The sfogliatelle was light, fluffy, with the perfect amount of sweetness, and unlike much that I've had before. The dulce de leche gelato was truly the best though. The flavor just seeped through and I wish I could have had more. Overall, I'd say I'm coming back and definitely recommending this place to friends!!!! read more

This place is ok, but to be honest 'rough around the edges'. Not the best Italian food I've ever had, let alone Roman. And not the living up to the hype of the CT Bites review. When we went, we sat the bar right when you come in. The place was 80% empty but no one had cleaned off the counter (crumbs, mail, etc). Better yet when you looked straight over the counter you are staring at a trash can up against a wood butcher type block table. The side of it is splattered with missed food from the trash. YUM. While waiting, the person behind the counter was making the salad for the display case. Gloves anyone? No, not here. He was up and around the kitchen cleaning stuff up, making espresso, hands back in the peppers, fingers all over the salad. I'm not usually overly sensitive but really? 2 of us went in hungry, ordered and despite asking waiters and maitre de many times our pizza never showed!!! We were in disbelief when after an hour and half, the waiter said he would take missing pizza off bill, and we could take home. Ok, we were still starving, only tiny salad eaten, but that seemed reasonable. To our continued amazment the pizza never did appear!! The whole night felt right out of the twilight zone! Called to request delivery of a large pizza and several pieces of pastry on a Saturday afternoon (August 1st) at noon. Delivery was denied unless I was planning on ordering 10 pizzas! Talk about disappointing and a misinforming website. By the way, delivery was requested to be made to Norwalk Hospital to nurses working in a weekend. Despite this, we will still take excellent care of you Mr. Manager, should you end up needing care at Norwalk Hospital. I will not be frequenting my heretofore favorite pizza joint any longer. This place is newly renovated... so trendy and cool .... but most importantly the food is absolutely off the hook!!!! The pizza puts any New haven pizza to shame . Try the rapini pizza and the Fontana Di Trevi.... salad was great. Real artisan pizza. As close to the pizza you get in Italy, here in Fairfield County. Have taken out and dined in. Love the casual, comfortable atmosphere of dining in but the service is not at all "royal" as some other reviewers mentioned. More like they're doing you a favor by letting you eat there. Pizza in norwalk has never been this good, usually to get a decent slice you have to travel to new haven or manhattan. The staff are very nice and cater to every need. Go here once and your addicted. The food is the only reason i keep coming back. Every time i order take out it'll be be 25-30 minutes. Purposely arrive after 30 minutes to find out they haven't even started to make the pie. I've ordered a few times from here and hands down its the best pizza in the area. My biggest and only complaint is with their delivery option. I just had my order show up an hour after they said it would, with ice cold pizzas. They don't deliver before 5, they don't deliver on the weekend. What's the point of offering a delivery service? This place is MARVELOUS! I had gotten takeout from here before, which was great and was excited to dine in. Absolutely adorable little place - bright, clean, with reasonable prices. My mom and I got the soup, which was their daily special - broccoli cheddar. Unbelievably good!! My sister and her friend split the basil pizza and ceasar salad, both of which were also great. We come here at noon, so it was a little too early for wine, but I was definitely eyeing their wine and dessert menu for next time - so pumped to have a cute spot to meet a friend in my hometown. I have been trying to find what the new yorkers and new englanders are so proud of with there pizzas and why they find them sooooooo much better than anywhere else. So far after trying the "best of the best" in NYC and being completely disappointed(not in the pizza but the claims that they are so much better) I'm hoping CT can redeem. This place is a good start. One of the few places around here with decent cannoli. As for the rest - the pizza was good, as were the cheese/bread/meat plates. The service was not. We had almost finished eating dinner before our water glasses were filled, and asked a server a couple times. Even after the manager noticed there was an above-average subsequent delay. We were in the mood for dessert or drinks but didn't want to be out all night - but still ended up waiting quite a while for the check. I'd probably try Romanacci again to see if they were just having an understaffed night, but their menu is rather limited and never ends up at the top of the list. Really really good pizza!! I love that they have authentic italian sodas and really fresh salads. We split and antipasto salad that was just perfect. And we all loved our personal pizzas. I really like this little spot. I have only had the pizza on a few occasions and I have to say that it is right up there in my top 3 in Norwalk. They have a nice selection of slices to choose from, which changes daily. The slices are generous and delicious. They have indoor seating at a counter and also some tables set up outside. My mom and I shared a few slices, a glass of prosecco and some chocolate covered strawberries. Cheap and yummy!! I'll have to come back to try their pastries/desserts. Can't get enough of this place. Every aspect of the menu is excellent. We always start with the salad specials which tend to be good fresh greens and fruit served with an awesome vinaigrette. Candied nuts, goat cheese, etc. it's always something different and tasty. Personal pies are excellent. I usually do the Rapini. Wine by the glass is always a great selection and reasonably priced. For dessert we usually do a chocolate covered cannoli along with a Romanacci Cappuccino which is a must! (made with Nutella). We always leave happy. And look forward to our next meal. read more

Extremely disappointed, hands down, the worst pizza I have ever had. Not to mention the service. The guy on the phone didn't get the order right, despite three tries... And said I could paid with credit with the driver (?!). That was not the case, I now wished I didn't have cash so I would avoided this awful experience all together. The pizza came in cold. Least of the problems... All ingredients are cheap and fake. The tomato sauce heated up from a surrogate can. The dough was very heavy and undercooked. Oil, definitely not olive oil and tasted old and greasy. The price though, that was fancy! 60$ for two pizza and one serving of Arancini (I'm not even going to comment on this, went straight to the trash can...) Please stay away from this fake. read more
