About seven years ago, my father commissioned for me an Amish-made grandfather clock, which I LOVE…read more I had had it serviced by a company with "Grandfather" in their name only to have the clock stop shortly thereafter. So, for nearly a year, my clock has not been running. When my father passed away in May, I felt even more compelled to get my clock running again, so I looked for a new option--someone who would understand how much I treasured this piece. I called Master Clock Repair and spoke with Christian. He was WONDERFUL in helping me understand how their company works and, moreover, in generating confidence in the consistently good work his father does. [His father's pedigree in the industry is strong; I was a little surprised to encounter such a humble and friendly guy--definitely not my experience with his competitor.] He worked with me to find a good appointment time and was very clear about the fees (which were VERY reasonable.) Christian's Dad, Mike, came to my house, listened to my story, and began to work on my clock. He helped me understand the workings of my clock, confirming that what the Amish builder had used should last over 20 years. He pulled the works, oiled and cleaned them, and put them back in. He tested the chimes, worked to ensure that all systems were functioning in a healthy way and, when he realized that the trigger for the chimes wasn't working as perfectly as it SHOULD have, he pulled the works again and continued well past the anticipated end time to get it exactly right. As soon as the chimes started I felt emotional--partly because this heirloom is such a reminder of my Dad's investment in my life--but also because in a world of compromise, having Mike steward my concern with such focus, professionalism, and empathy was, as they say, medicine for the soul. The title "Master" in the business name is well-earned and defended by the way that Mike works. I noted with Mike that most people who have a grandfather clock also have a story. Our clocks carry sentimental value. Today I learned that Mike--and Master Clock Repair--genuinely care about their customers' stories. The integrity and respect Mike showed are the antithesis of my experience with my previous company. I will, without hesitation, always call Master Clock Repair moving forward. HIGHLY recommend. Nothing but respect!

I received an antique clock from a friend a few months ago. While transporting it home, apparently…read morethe thin wire that holds the pendulum got bent. As a result, the clock stopped working correctly (it had worked fine for many years before that). The clock repair shop I previously used has since gone out of business, so I contacted this company. I took the clock in and explained the problem. I also asked them to re-solder the glass bezel over the clock face. Long story short, after several weeks, they notified me that the repairs were completed. I made an appointment to pick up the clock. They replaced the pendulum with a larger one and reattached the bezel (poorly and ill-fitting). I was given a lengthy lecture on how and when to wind the clock. I was also told that, since I had not elected to have them perform a complete reworking of the clock (which would have cost more than the clock was worth), they would not guarantee that it would work. Remember I said it had worked for many years and kept good time for my friend. 3 days later, I attempted to wind the clock for the first time and something broke inside. I called them and described the problem. I was informed that the sprocket seems to have failed and was then quoted a price of over $300 to repair it. I explained that I had already paid nearly $200 for the thin wire repair, an amateurish soldering job, and a used pendulum. I could not see spending another $300 on the off-chance that the clock would operate afterward. Later, the owner left me a voicemail message stating that, since they had not done any repair work on the clock the first time (and yet they charged me just under $190 for that!), they were not obligated to warranty the clock. I understand their reasoning, but it seems awfully coincidental that a previously-reliable sprocket/rachet would suddenly fail the very first time I tried to wind it (by following their instructions to the letter). Sadly, they have little or no competition in central Ohio, so I will have to look farther away to locate a more trustworthy and skilled clock repairman.

Stopped in to this little dinky underwhelming and clearly vintaged and authentic little shop, and took all of five minutes for this older guy with a magnifying glasses headband to get this done. He came out from behind the counter and asked what wrist size I need, told him mine and he said ok give me just a few minutes. He clearly had been doing this his entire life. This guy only charged me like $5 to take a few links out. I expeced to pay at least $20, so this was an awesome surprise. Due to the quick service, the lack of flair and truly honest and sincere work I defffffinitely will be going back here for any future watch needs!!

When I finally reached someone by phone, I was told -- directly -- that they don't have time to answer emails or take calls because they are too busy. Read that again: too busy to answer customers who are trying to give them money. There is no proper online ordering system, no follow-up, no basic customer service, and zero respect for potential buyers. If you don't want to sell online or respond to inquiries, then don't pretend to have a website that suggests otherwise. This is not how a legitimate or serious business operates in 2025. Ignoring customers and brushing them off with "we're busy" is unacceptable. Communication is the bare minimum -- and they completely failed. If you value your time or expect even basic professionalism, look elsewhere. What a mess.

Went to take some 18k gold in told me it was $140 per penny weight over the phone. Got there then…read morethey told me it was only 120$ per penny weight. then they told me my 18k gold was only 14k even though it tested between high 16 to 17.5 on their Xray so now it was only 100$ per penny weight. When I was in there a few days previous they told me it was 18k. Years ago this place used to be fair but don't think I'll ever go back. Make sure to get some other quotes before you just take what they offer, they seem. I miss the old owners.
