A few weeks ago I moved across the state with my cat in the car. By the time i reached Nashville, my AC was not working and I was worried about my cat overheating. I had to stop to cool my cat down and by chance there was a service center near me. I met Norris and he immediately stopped to help me. We figured out my AC filter hadn't been changed in years and it was clogged to the brim with debris. Norris took out the filter, vacuumed out the debris, and sent me on my way. I was very thankful I found such a considerate business to ease my anxiety and make sure I'm safe. My cat was happy too! In this day and age finding a repair place that is 100% honest is extremely rare. Ron Hall is the real deal. I surprised I have not done this before, as we have gone to Ron Hall for years. This particular review deals with our latest experience. We went to a car dealership for my daughter's car a few weeks ago, mostly because Ron Hall was backed up. After spending almost $600 fixing the car, the dealership hit us with 3 additional repairs they said needed to be done: power steering leak, radiatior leak, and rear differential leak. The cost was over $2000. Today, Ron Hall looked at it and ran some diagnostics. He said it was more of an ooze on the power steering and they could not find a single cooling system leak or rear differential leak. In the end, he added some fluid to stop the leak and did not charge to examine the car. This is not the first time either. A few years back, my wife had an issue that turned out to be a fuse. Ron told her he could not charge her for replacing a fuse. We have taken all of our cars here and have always been treated fairly. The only thing I hate about giving this type of review is if too many of you see it and start frequenting, making it harder for me to get in. But I feel excellence has to be rewarded. So grateful to this repair shop!! I was given a warm welcome to Tennessee and they did a great job!! I really wasn't sure what was wrong, it turned out that the alternator that was installed before I left California was so loose that I was lucky I made it to the shop. My driver side window decided to not roll up last week and a friend of mine recommended this place to me. I decided to just stop by on a weekday around 8 am hoping that they could fix or at least tell me what was wrong with my window. I walked in and the owner, his wife, and two sons were in there discussing the shops plans for the day. They immediately asked what was wrong and said they would take a look at it but that they might not be able to get to it today (they usually are appointments only and are booked out for at least a week). The sons took a look and said if I left it there they could probably fit me in and fix it by the end of the day. Great news. What was even better news is that the owner offered to drop me off at my house AND to come pick me back up when they were done. WHAT?!?! This family is very concerned about customer service and it shows. Ron himself dropped me off at my house and during the ride we discussed his 1996 Pink Toyota and how he still drives it on the weekends to the airport, where he is a flight instructor. About 30 minutes after dropping me off he calls me and gives me estimates of how much the cost of a motor and regulator would be. He had to call around to a lot of different parts places because the Toyota dealership wanted to charge $550 for the entire piece. HAH. He managed to find the part for $150 and said it would cost about $300 total. Expensive, but not nearly as expensive as it could have been. I agree and he says will call when they are done to come pick me up. 10 minutes later he calls and says that it wasn't the motor at all. Two bolts had come undone and all they had to do was screw them back in. Great news! He comes to pick me up and I end up paying $90 for labor and I now have a functioning window. This was one of the best customer experiences I have had in a long time and I will definitely give them more of my business. They go above and beyond for the customer and were honest with me every step of the way. read more

I found this place with no references just from passing by. I was a single mother of a 3 yr old with a car electronically breaking down for no obvious reason whenever it felt like it. That was eighteen years ago. I have never used anyone else for car repair since. I am not a family member or was not a family friend but do consider them to be my friends now with the kind of friendly help and advice I have recieved from them through the years. Ron Hall is as good, straight up honest and helpful as they come. His two sons work with him and they sure did not fall far from that tree. Mrs. Hall is busy all the TIME scheduling, manning the phone, taking messages, ordering and accepting parts from carriers so if you do not get an answer the first time you call, CALL BACK! The woman only has two arms and will help you all she can the minute she can get to you. I will admit that there are times I have had to wait for service because their schedule was just to full. I waited nine days to get our truck fixed this week and had them put us on the schedule when our turn came. That is only fair to their other patrons. There have also been times I drove up and Ron or Ronnie fixed something small for me while I stood there watching . It is just the luck of the draw on that. This is a family business with a reputation for integrity which is just not heard of in this day and time. For that reason they stay busy and their lot stays packed. There is a GOOD reason for that. They are simply worth it. IT is so hard for a WOMAN in a big city to know when she is being jerked around and lied to in the automobile business. That is EXACTLY why I go to Ron Halls. Yogi Berra supposedly said, "Nobody goes there any more because it is too busy." That sums up this service center. Ron Hall is the most honest auto mechanic I've ever been around. He does great work, and his prices are well below average. Unfortunately, it can take 3-4 weeks to get an appointment with him. If you need your car fixed ASAP, you just cannot wait that long. Last year, my Air Conditioner stopped working around July 4th. I called and called and called, and nobody answered. So, I had to drive 8 miles over there. They told me they couldn't look at it until August. By that time, Nashville was sweltering for 14 straight days with temperatures in the triple digits. It turned out, I only needed a simple fuse and could have fixed it myself in 30 seconds if I had known that was the problem. They put in a fuse and didn't even charge me for it. If your car needs repair, and you can wait 5 weeks, then definitely give them your business. read more

Mr. Hall's honesty was so refreshing. Mr. Hall and his lovely wife run it - their sons and Mr. Hall are the mechanics. I took it to him after almost 2 dozen recommendations on Facebook for a second opinion. The second valve was missing, it was overheating, burning water and oil, the computer showed it needed a sensor and may have had major valve problems - or so I was told by two other mechanics, with an estimated between $500 to $700 quote. Mr. Hall checked the computer and told me that it looks like an $150 dollar job but if it is more serious he told me it might be better to get another car, but he thought it was just the coil. He went to tear it down with permission to replace the coil and came back and told me the sensor was unplugged and the spark plug cord or whatever it was called was broken at the tip. No problems with the radiator whatsoever. He charged me $42 to plug the sensor back and change the cord - he said my 2003 Impala drives like new. And it does. The honesty was refreshing. My daughter went here for an oil change in her 2007 E320 Mercedes Benz and was charged $180. I know the oil for this car is more expensive, but we own 3 Mercedes and I've never paid that much at the dealer. They also charged $45.00 for labor. Before they found out she needed full synthetic the price was $38. Confused as to why the price jumped so much. The same labor applies. I'm very upset about this. I want to say I agree with the other reviewers regarding the quality and honesty of the service we receive from the Halls. I do disagree you have to wait 4-5 weeks to obtain service. Like any business they have busy times and slow times. We have experienced short and long waits. I have also stopped by when my vehicle was experiencing "weird" issues and they have never turned me away. They have worked on classic cars they didn't really want to just to help us out. That is the type of people they are. They are really knowledgeable regarding all makes of vehicles and my husband has used them since he was in high school and they are as helpful as they can be based on the other clients in line for their services. Most honest service center you will ever find. They have been taking care of my family's cars about 30 years. One of the last remaining true family businesses out there. Ron, Pat, Ronnie, and Norris will take good care of you and your car. Their rates are inline with everywhere else and they will never lie to you about what your car needs. He is honest and while not cheap , he is cheaper than the dealer and I trust him more. I have been going there for years. With labor rates at 90 plus dollars per hour , you want someone that knows what they are doing and Ron has the experience to fix the car or if it is something he can't do, he will tell you. I just moved to Nashville, single mom with kids, and my car was overheating. A friend recommended Ron Hall to me. The radiator was contaminated and full of hard gunk. The best case scenario would be if they could dig out the gunk and flush the radiator. The other option that was looking more likely would have been to replace the radiator. Mr. Hall told me that they would do what they could to prevent the high cost of replacing a radiator, but they could not make any promises. In one day, my car went to being on the side of the road to running better than it has in a year. They were able to clean the radiator and replace the hose. The cost was shockingly low and I am so very happy that I took my car to his center. They will always have my business as long as I live in Nashville. He and his family are the most honest and kind auto mechanics that I have every met. I recommend his service center to everyone that needs work. read more

Ron Hall's Service is the best around. They will out price all of their competitors in parts and service. They have been a family owned and run business for over 20 years, which equates to a knowledge and trust that I have not found anywhere else. So to all those shopping around looking for that best buy or somewhere they won't up-sell you; then RON HALL IS the place for you. My personal story with them is that I recently purchased a Pathfinder and needed to do an overall check on it. They told me what I needed to do with honesty, and saved me a bundle. Just a simply system flush for a great price. Then around six months later I was looking at putting some brakes on it. They got me a dealer price on the brakes and rotors, which came out costing me less than $250; which by the way is a steal. In short, not only do these guys do fabulous work, they have base line pricing, and the friendliest customer service around.
