Got the chicken fried steak special. The food was good and the service was friendly. Overall good but nothing out of this world.

Expect a wait if you go on a weekend morning, but it's worth it. This is a great choice for a great breakfast any day of the week. The place was bustling, but the friendly staff did a great job in keeping the flow going and making you feel welcomed. Those pancakes are the bomb. I can easily see those being my usual choice. Although I liked the smoked salmon omelette, the cream cheese threw me off a bit. But, that didn't keep me from cleaning the plate. The mixed fruit was good, and made me feel better about my glutton breakfast ways. Plentiful good coffee too made it a perfect morning. At some point, I need to make my way back to try their lunch items. Maybe I'll just hang out there until lunch time, because I know I'll be back time and time again for breakfast. I have been here several times. The quality of the food is very good, prices are a little high for breakfast fair but the staff is always friendly. If you go in a weekend, expect there to a wait, at least 10-30 minutes. The pancakes are are House special and highly recommended but take my advice and go for the cinnamon roll- it is next level delicious and the biggest roll you will likely see!!! read more

Great breakfast!! My kids love pancakes and I love to eat them off their plate!! I have to say these pancakes are awesome. Last time I was there I ordered one for myself because they were so good I wanted more then just one bite off my kids' plates. The bacon is crispy and probably fried in something not heart healthy- but it is delicious! The staff is consistently friendly and the wait is usually not too bad. read more

This was our first time here, we went for lunch but had breakfast. I had an omelet that was well prepared and no greasy. They do the home-fries with a bit of onion, which is nice. Coffee was fresh and Hot, I like that! My husband had the chicken fried chicken, he wished is wasn't breaded so much, but I thought it was crispy and deliciously seasoned! (And the best part, to me, not greasy!) Yum! The restaurant is really clean and bright and our waitress was the perfect amount of attentive (Christina, thank you!). I have wanted to go to Kate's Kitchen for several years because of the good Yelp reviews but I'll never be up north during breakfast or lunch. So I was thrilled when I found out they had another branch in Lenexa. I got a breakfast and my husband got lunch and both were fantastic. My wife and I were semi-regulars here for a few years. Then when COVID-19 hit, we became regulars who ordered carry-out from them every week. At first it was good. Then after a few weeks, they started getting our order wrong each time(even though we order the SAME THING every week! I first sent them a Facebook Instant Message on their page describing the problems we were having. I got no response. After a couple more weeks of the same thing, I sent them a direct email. I got no response. Then a week or two later, I went to their website and found that they only allowed a small amount of characters on their contact page, so I just told them to check the other methods that I used to contact them to see what our problems have been. I got no response. Finally, two weeks ago, I sent an actual letter to them by mail, telling them all about our problems and how frustrated we were by being ignored all the way round without even one reply or response. At the close, I put that if they don't feel that it's important enough to reply to their regular customers, we'll just have to return to Pegah's each week, which is what we've done. We highly recommend that you do the same. read more

Have been here at least 6 times over the last few months for sunday breakfast/lunch. Chicken fried chicken and eggs has been my fav....good crispy batter each time. Ive had the omelettes and Benedict and havent been disappointed. Staff are friendly, some more talkative than others....but not an issue at all, just an observation, all are friendly and accommodating. I want to try some of the sandwiches, but cant get past the chicken and eggs. read more

Business is booming at this KC Royals breakfast and lunch joint. At our visit, we tried the biscuits and gravy platter (full size) and the chicken fried chicken. They serve the gravy on the side, which--I think I think makes sense is you want to preserve the crunchiness of your biscuits. More restaurants should try this method, honestly. The problem however, is that while the biscuits themselves are pretty huge (larger than my fist), they lack the crunchy texture you expect from homemade biscuits. The texture exists somewhere between a dinner roll and a biscuit. They're good biscuits, don't get me wrong. I just think having crunchy, flakey biscuits would benefit from the (frankly brilliant) side dish of gravy. The gravy itself was good. It's the standard type, with bits of sausage and pepper in the mix. The difference from others? I think there's a hint of cinnamon. It's very subtle, but I think it works quite well. The potatoes were delicious, as well--perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of seasoning. They also pair well with the gravy. Now the chicken fried chicken is great. It's got a nice, juicy, freshly flavor with a crunch. It also has white gravy, but this variety seemed to have slightly more of that cinnamony taste. The only thing that made me slightly uncomfortable was the Bible verses salted throughout the menu. I suppose it serves its marketing purpose, given the largely WASP demographic. Otherwise, I didn't really notice it. In a restaurant setting though, it seems slightly inappropriate, given that people just want to eat. The last bit was that getting our check took about 15 minutes, which is--not exactly good service. So overall, I'd give them a 3/5. It's a good place--but it has room (and a budget) for improvement. read more

Today was my 2nd time to dine at Ronnie's. Both were great. First was the chicken fried steak special. Probably the best green beans I've ever had (plenty of bacon). The Yukon Gold mashed potatoes were the real deal and very good. The gravy was just fine. The thing preventing 5 stars was the chewiness of the steak. Not tough. But chewier than I prefer. But the flavor was great. Today, I had the California Fresh sandwich--grilled chicken with avocado, greens, onions and cheese. Outstanding! Kind of a mess to eat; but a good mess. Highly recommended. Very good service in a clean and nicely designed space. Baseball themed art covers the walls without coming across like a sports bar (of course, it's not a bar, so that helps). It's a breakfast and lunch place that closes at 2 pm. Factor that into your plans. read more

After having been here a few times, my family decided to eat here again, after receiving a BOGO coupon from Val Pak. I see now why they sent the coupon. It was late morning/lunchtime and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. We were a table with four adults and one kid. We ordered four entree's and two side items. We paid and gave them the coupon, only to see they took off one side item (a single pancake for $3.50). I asked the server and they said they would correct it. Well, they came back and added the $3.50 pancake back on and took off the other side item (a side of biscuit and gravy for $5.25). Not once did they take off any of the four entree's, which I thought was pretty shoddy. When I mentioned it to the cashier, I was told she would "let him know". To whoever the great and powerful "him" is, I don't think using the old bait and switch routine will gain you any customers or respect. Anyway, I DO NOT recommend this restaurant as the food has declined. I would like to give a shout out to the server, because she was great! read more

Really good food. Very clean restaurant. Try the cinnamon French toast. Yummy. For the most part, the servers are very attentive. However, we got Debby Downer. Not attentive. Took forever to get the check. She only took out older and checked on is once. The other wait staff took care of us. So, I'm still impressed by the place. Just not the one server. Maybe a smile and some attentiveness will help her. I hope this placebecomes a fixture of Lenexa. Keep it up. read more

I went out for breakfast with my 3 girls and we loved the food. My omelette was fantastic. One of my girls had the Cinnamon roll French toast. OMG it was so good. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Food was fabulous and I plan to go again soon. The only complaint I would have was once the server gave us our food and check, we never saw her again. Ronnie's is a reliable local breakfast spot that I frequent regularly. There are many good choices for breakfast, some healthier than others, just as you would expect. Lunches are also excellent. My current favorites are the mamacado breakfast scramble and crispy chicken salad. I can almost always eat here for under $10, excluding tip. I rarely have to wait for a table, even during busy Saturday and Sunday mornings. read more

Just heard about this place a couple days ago. Brought the wife for breakfast and the food is fantastic. They have a great menu selection of various breakfast and lunch item. Shelly was our waitress and she was phenomenal. Friendly, outgoing and very personable. They were busy but we received our food very quickly. To start off we were seated right away which for a Saturday morning at 9:00 is great, especially since they were busy. We were able to read the menu at our leisure primarily because it took about ten minutes to be acknowledged by our server . The kitchen was very quick . I had the pork tender loin or fritter sandwich. It was huge and the batter was nice and crispy but it seriously lacked flavor. I had fries and fruit with that. The fruit was very sparse and I pretty much only got cantaloupe with the exception of two or three small pieces of fruit. My husband had a Telya island he said it started off bland but got better as he got to the ingredients in the Omelet . We will Likely give them another try but at this point I don't feel a huge need to try to hurry back. read more

Went there for the first time today. Server was excellent! I made it very clear that I wanted my eggs cooked over medium. When my plate arrived my eggs were barely over easy. I cut into them and clear liquid ran out of the whites. I couldn't eat them. I was with a group and chose not to say anything but was really irritated as I ordered nothing but 2 eggs and potatoes. Small business with great customer service. We found this place on Yelp while shopping in Lenexa for granite. The cinnamon rolls are gooey and sweet, and the coffee is good. Food was really good...coffee was really, really bad...so one star off for coffee. We got the burrito, the cinnamon roll french toast, eggs and bacon...The french toast and the burrito were both solid choices. If they would have put the potatoes IN the burrito it would have been huge and epic!! Genessee Royale would be a place I would consider 5 stars for breakfast and fantastic coffee...In this part of town I will I would definitely go back...but that coffee though..I know you guys can make better coffee!! read more
