I can honestly say I do not understand where the poor reviews are coming from. My two friends and I grabbed dinner last night and from start to finish it was flawless--which is what I have always experienced at Roosters in South Park and Ballantyne is no different. The hostesses were warm and friendly. Our server, Logan, was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The manager was also very present and kind. The food was fantastic. We had hanger steak, a burger, and chicken. All of our mains were perfectly cooked and played nicely. We shared the onion rings, pan roasted corn, and potatoes au gratin which were the right size for sharing and delicious. We finished with the chocolate torte which was a nice ending to a wonderful evening. Shockingly bad experience -- and an even worse attitude. We had one of the worst dinners I've ever had at Rooster's last night. We came with a larger group and were seated at a noisy, chaotic table -- not ideal for some older guests who couldn't hear. When we politely asked to move, the attitude toward us immediately shifted -- and not for the better. Our server was visibly annoyed, rushed through the ordering process, and insisted we give all our mains first, then sides separately -- which would've been fine if she could actually hear us, but it turned into a confusing, frustrating mess. It took over an hour just to get our drinks. We ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese-stuffed olives -- they arrived without olives, and even worse, they handed us a vat of olive brine to mix our own drinks. When we asked for them to be remade (because who pays restaurant prices to DIY?), they came back with olives -- and a layer of oil floating on top. Truly undrinkable. We also asked for a light red wine around $100. Without any confirmation, they upsold us to a $140 bottle -- a shady move that left a bad taste, even before the food showed up. Speaking of food -- it took forever. No appetizers, just mains and drinks -- and it still dragged on for over two hours with missing and incorrect items. Some of our group had to leave before finishing their meals just to relieve babysitters. We were rarely checked on, and when the bill finally arrived, it was full of errors -- charging us for incorrect items alongside the correct ones. And to add insult to injury: Even though their website clearly states that a 20% gratuity is added for parties of 8 or more, they still added it to our party of 7 -- and told us it was due to our "group size." Normally we are 20%+ tippers -- but frankly, after this horrendous service, we would not have tipped anywhere near that. We've had good meals here in the past, which makes this trainwreck even more disappointing. It'll be a long, long time -- if ever -- before we return. read more

This place was jam packed... (week one of opening)! The wait wasn't long, but we made reservations (and showed up on time). Roosters has always had a reputation of being fresh food and great service, they did not disappoint and they'll undoubtedly do well here. The one gripe (and loss of star) was the fact that the restaurant was SO loud - we are never a family to notice, but holy moly, when it's jamming in there, you can't here a darned thing. Not even your waiter or waitress. It was unbearably loud. We were sat by a door that kept opening and bringing in cold air, so I wouldn't advise a table by the door in the cold months. Otherwise, the inside was open, airy and spacious. The meals we ordered were the skirt steak (absolutely delicious) not sure it's worth the price though. We ordered 2 pizzas that were absolutely amazing - the leftovers were just as tasty the next day (chicken pizza and the prosciutto/burrata pizza). The dough/crust is perfectly chewy and crunchy... I might suggest keeping an eye out for the blacked burned bits underneath from previous pizzas as they will sour your taste overall, but they're few and far between. Overall, it was a pleasant (but pricey) experience. 3 of us ate with a few drinks and an app/dessert for $175 - that's more steakhouse pricing and will limit our regular visits, but we'll be back. We're happy they're on this side of town and wish them continued success. But please do something about the sound - it's tough when you can't hear people at your own table. read more

Absolutely incompetent, server asked if anyone had allergies after she took our order I told her yes I am very allergic to tree nuts, fast forward my food comes out absolutely covered in pecans (I thought it was bacon obviously because I told her I am extremely allergic to tree nuts) end up taking a bite and immediately feel sick. Our waitress comes over with a big smile on her face saying how "sorry" she feels, manager comes over doesn't even offer to pay for any food or anything my girlfriend and I left on the spot. This place is great, with excellent service and delicious food. I don't understand the mediocre ratings, but you should give this one a try. They have outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog and I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits, best I've had in a long time. read more

Unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. 1-My waiter was wearing very strong cologne, so strong it was very off putting. 2- we ordered a salad to share and it came out with the meal, the waiter never even asked our preference. 3-After waiting almost an hour, our burgers came raw, not rare. RAW -had to send them back and then wait some more. 4-food was very very salty 5-desert, which was a cake was frozen and supposed to be comped for her birthday. We were excited to try Roosters in Ballantyne. Went for lunch and was very disappointed. I ordered the "Ribeye Steak Sandwich." What I got was overcooked prime rib shaved thin on toast. Quite dry I presume probably leftover prime rib from the night before, shaved, then reheated? One of the most expensive and worst "Ribeye Steak Sandwiches" ever. Service was fine. Our party of 11 enjoyed our dinner here tonight. Sara H was our server and she was a rock star! Loved her! Took care of us even though 4 of the 11 were kids that made a mess (sorry SH). made reservations two weeks ahead of time since this is a new restaurant in our area. The ambience was warm inviting and the smells were amazing coming from the kitchen. The only complaint was we had to ask for water to be delivered to the table while we waited 20 minutes for our drink order from the bar. All of our meals were delicious and cooked to perfection. Visiting the area, we ordered takeout from here for dinner. The food was ready when I arrived AND the order was accuate! The collards were smokey and very tasty--just as my husband likes! He had the thigh/leg bar b q: had a lot of flavor! The Onion Rings were also very good. I had a naked burger with just the fixings: cooked medium as I requested. We started with the Mushroom soup and the tomato bisque: great flavor! The outdoor dining and bar looked very inviting--would definitely consider eating here if we are back in the area again. read more

Came with family over the holidays to relax. While the food was decent, the service was severely lacking. We ran out of water and only was offered refills once, and when we were trying to pay it took 30 minutes before we could leave. Our server was no where to be found so we couldn't even wave him down, and even after flagging another server it took about another 10 minutes for him to track ours down and complete checking us out. read more

We were there early in the evening and the place was maybe a third full but you could barely hear the person across the table the noise was so high. FOOD WOSE THAN THE acoustics!! Wife's -pizza was so soggy from being drenched in olive oil she could hardly pick it up. Taste was even worse. I got a 10 oz steak, ordered medium rare. The center was deep purple and still cold!! Onion rings showed evidence f also being soaked in olive oil!! Not sure who trained the chef but he/she needs to cut way down on the oil. PRICES??
