Today's review only addresses y'all's grinders. I grew up in NL CT, founders of the Grindah, STOP with the dry ass focaccia bread, ITS ALL WRONG. The bread should be long, never cut the hinge, crusty, oiled on both insides, and toasted to perfection. May I suggest a trip to New London or Norwich CT to remind you how it's done. Very cool wood fired restaurant located on stock island. It was perfect for us since we were staying nearby. It is a lot larger than you'd think! Inside decor is rustic. They have lots of daily specials. We started off with a chopped salad that was super yummy but we were a bit sticker shocked at the $20 price. It was very good though! The lemon wings were out of this world good. Perfect flavor and char. Our pizza was average. Crust was underwhelming. Service was fine. Had to ask twice for our teas but waitress and helping staff were always nearby. I would come again and try some of their other items. Not sure I'd recommend the pizza. read more

I have come for lunch maybe a half a dozen times as I work nearby. Usually sit in the lounge and get prompt and courteous service. Today the lounge was full so we sat in the front. The worst service ever! We sat for an extended period before anyone came to our table. The waitress came to our table, took our orders and we NEVER saw her again. Despite have empty drink glasses when we were still eating our appetizers...they stayed empty for our entire meals. I think I'm gonna start having lunch where my business is appreciated. read more

What an excellent restaurant! The food is perfectly prepared and elegantly presented. I had the Lobster Scallopini and it was amazing. My friend had the Lobster Ravioli and she said it was one of the best ever! Save room for the Tiramisu! The service was top notch. This was our first place we came to eat while in the Keys and it was only a 2min walk from our VRBO. There's an indoor and cute outdoor seating area, where we sat, but the little gnats biting us were bad so that was only unfortunate thing. Food and drinks were good though! We got several appetizers - the bruschetta, meatball slider, caesar salad, and the wings. I got the margherita pizza for my entree which was really good. My friend had a long blonde hair in her water glass though which was gross but the waitress brought her over a new water. read more

My first time here and I was excited to try this place. The Sicilian pizza came out burnt and truly no taste and the Roostica came out a lil under cooked. I've tried other wood fire pizza places and this was a let down for me. The person operating the oven needs to be trained. Overall rating with service, food and atmosphere 4/10. read more

Nice ambiance - this is in stock island which is pretty close to Key west. Plenty of tables. We were staying at a nearby marina and wanted to get some pizza. This place doesn't disappoint! And they have great gluten free pizza and a gluten free chocolate torte. read more

We were on a week long vacation with a group of friends, and one of the days the guys went off on a little fishing boat adventure. Well, they caught limit and their captain recommended this restaurant to cook their catch. We went here for dinner and were absolutely blown away with the service AND the food/preparation AND the ambiance. We were asked to wait a few moments until our table would be ready, and sat outside in this beautiful little area under lights and vines... So we asked if we could just sit there and guess what? We did! Our waitress was the hostess who was just so fun, inviting, and truly attentive to our questions and needs. We had multiple salads, risotto balls, and fresh bread for the table... The drinks were flowing and we enjoyed ourselves so much. The conversation with our waitress/hostess was wonderful too! She made some wonderful food recommendations. Everyone at the table had our fish prepared piccata style and absolutely loved it! I'm the sole non-fish eater, so I opted for the lasagna. Unfortunately, I was not a fan because of the insane amount of cheese. I swapped out the dish for the spaghetti and meatballs which was good! Our desserts were delicious too! While we enjoyed our meal we saw a lot of people getting carry out, a lot of delivery heading out the door, and the place was very busy - It's clear this place is the go-to for Italian food and we can attest to that. I'm in Key West on a "working holiday". Today at work I heard some coworkers talking about a great pizza place that also served Italian food. They said the name of it was Roostica, located on Stock Island at 5620 MacDonald Ave. So, I decided to stop there after work for a late lunch/early dinner. I'm very happy that I decided to eat at Roostica. I had initially decided to try their pizza, but when I saw they had chicken parmesan on the menu I knew I just had to try that! It was served very quickly and tasted great! A very large piece of tender, juicy chicken that had a crispy exterior with just the right amount of cheese topping. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and was coated in a nice marinara sauce. My meal was right at the edge of too much. The portion was very generous, but not so big that I felt like a pig eating all of it . The atmosphere was nice and quiet. I guess I should say that I got there in between a full restaurant. I was there between 3pm and 4 pm. Your experience may vary. I noticed that Roostica also has an outdoor seating area in a vine-covered area on one side. If the weather hadn't been so hot I would have sat outside. The staff is very friendly and professional. I was very pleased with the level of service I received from the Roostica staff. read more

This review will be short. I ordered the Working Man's Lunch. You select half a sub or a small pizza with a salad or soup. I opted for the Chicken Parmesan Sub and the House Salad; both were delicious. My friend and I shared a Brooklyn Boy: sweet sausage, meatballs, spicy salami, red peppers, mozzarella, and bacon. Very good Italian food. I had the Margarita Pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. The other people in my party had the Shrimp Alfredo and a Brooklyn Boys Calzone. No complaints. Highly recommend this place. If I was going to complain about anything it would be the servers wearing t-shirts saying "legalize marijuana", unnecessary and tacky. Keep the politics out of the restaurant...just concentrate making delicious food. read more

The pizzas are pretty close to the Neopolitan style you get in the northeast and certainly much better than you find in most of Florida. So. In Key West and wanted a 'locals' restaurant... too many touristy places.... Picked this place at random ( spoiler alert I love pizza ). Sat at the bar. Server was great. Attentive friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Ah! The food...we had baked Brussel sprouts and bacon and the Roostica pizza.... What can go wrong with Brussels and house specialtie pizza? Absolutely nothing!! They were both amazing. Only downside was the house wine was $10, and honestly, not worth it. But overall great night out. First of all, I have to say we've been to Roostica many times for dinner and it was great especially their specials. Today we decided to do 2 takeout pizzas. Wow was I disappointed! The mushroom and prosciutto pizza was very dry and undercooked with no sauce and not much flavor! The mozzarella cheese wasn't even melted and it was so soggy. I couldn't pick it up without everything coming off the pizza. The shrimp pesto had more flavor, but was undercooked also and again mozzarella not melted and couldn't pick it up as it was so soggy. Whatever happened to brick oven pizza? I gave it three stars because we've always eaten there in the past and the food is good but I would pass on the pizza, maybe because it was takeout? It wasn't busy!. Also very disappointed as we've ordered the lobster pizza in the past they no longer have it but we always ate it there. If it wasn't for takeout, I would've sent it back. read more

Just a short jaunt away from Key West this place is located on Stock Key and totally worth the short ride and has easy parking. We were there on an evening in February so to avoid the indoor freezing air conditioning we sat outside and it was warmer, quieter and less crowded. We ordered the eggplant stack appetizer which was like a Caprese salad stacked with basil, tomatoes, mozzarella and crispy fried eggplant and it was great! The Caesar was a bit bland and could've used a few more of my favorite white anchovies for sure. The Hippie pizza had a nice wood fired crust, overall veggie toppings were sparse and flavorless, covered in a thick layer of cheese. The staff was very nice and friendly. read more

We were so grateful to have a beautiful place to have our celebration of life for my Uncle and grandmother. They provided excellent service, great drinks, and AMAZING food. My favorite was the lasagna. I know my uncle would have loved it for sure as he loved italian food. We were a sizable group preplanned outside seating, it had rained but it cleared up for the most part. Parking was a bit troublesome for us to have such a large group but we made do. I was in here in January and I cannot stop thinking about the delicious lasagna. As we were celebrating the life of lost loves ones I didn't take many pictures of the food but I know it was beautifully served and tasty! I loved our waitress, she was quick and attentive. The eggplant which was meant to have honey and walnuts and cheese had everything out of proportion and the eggplant (which was bland) overshadowed everything. The Brussels sprouts were not cooked well enough. The garlic bread was under seasoned and under cooked. The shrimp and pesto pizza undercooked.
