Wasn't into their beers but liked a few of their kombuchas. Got a four pack to take with us on our road trip !

Went here for the first time not knowing much about kombucha. They're very helpful with the menu and the venue inside is very well decorated and the vibes are great. Anytime of the day you'll find it relaxing and a great place to hangout. The kombucha itself is by far the best I've ever had before. Their cocktails are also great too! Highly recommend giving this place a try!

10/10 kombucha brewery. First, the kombucha. It is well-crafted: professional, delicious, consistent. Flavors were impressive across the board and ranged from comforting and crushable (blueberry thyme) to unusual and edgy (vanilla rooibos ashwagandha) to snazzy and seasonal (apple chaga chai). Tons of winners and vanishingly few losers. They have mastered getting just the right amount and true character from each flavor without going over the top. Grapefruit, cranberry, jalapeno, ginger. All so well executed. If you get hungry while you're tossing back flights, grab some of the local hummus and warm pita. The perfect accompaniment. If the showstopping kombucha flavors weren't enough to keep you coming back, they also boast an awesome cozy beautiful hangout space located in the coolest neighborhood: right next door to Onggi, a ferment shop, and also very near LB Kitchen, an extremely high quality and very vegan-friendly restaurant/cafe. We traveled a long way to get to Root Wild and cannot wait to make the trip back.

I adore this place. The inside is spacious, with a ton of bar seating, table seating, and plush couches if you can snag them. The ceilings are high and there are plants galore. And best of all, there's no pressure to be in-and-out: I've spent hours here sipping on kombucha and reading, chatting with friends, avoiding the rain, etc., and never felt any pressure to rush and leave. That, alone, makes Root Wild such a haven. The kombucha is also standout: not to sweet, not too vinegary, and perfectly carbonated. They also have awesome seasonal flavors - definitely get the spiced apple kombucha (a fall special) if they have it! And for newer kombucha drinkers, you can purchase a flight and try out all of their flavors. They also offer alcoholic kombucha cocktails and hard kombucha, but I haven't had the chance to try them out yet. There are also always fun activities happening in the space - I saw programming for comedy, music, fermentation classes, book clubs, and more. Overall: I can't recommend this spot enough. If you're looking for some chill, cozy vibes and some pro-biotic goodness, definitely stop in!

My husband and I stumbled upon this kombuchary staying at an Airbnb down the street. This place was my absolute favorite find during our weekend in Portland, ME. I'd never heard of a kombuchary before, and I'm not much of a drinker, which was great that they had varying levels of alcohol content. They also sold their kombucha in cans, which we snugged a few different flavors to try on our picnics around Portland. I went with a watermelon lime slushee. So, I don't like watermelon drinks...I love the fruit, but I just can't stand artificial watermelon, which is what I was afraid of. However, I've never had a kombucha slushee and this drink had the least amount of alcohol. I was blown away by how good this slushee was. The watermelon lime flavor was refreshing, tart, sweet, clean, and crisp. Not at all artificial. I was immediately obsessed. We came back the next day, but they were closed for a private event. I'm back home now, far away in MN. I still think about this place and how sad it is that I only enjoyed this slushee once.

Always a great atmosphere, amazing service, and a wide variety of delicious kombucha flavors. Our favorite spot to grab a drink!

I was intrigued by all their flavor options and stopped by for happy hour (half off 12 oz pours from 4-6 pm on weekdays). The strawberry rhubarb was a light and refreshing choice and the purple waves with pine, lavender, lemon and butterfly pea flower had a complex flavor. The cranberry option was very light in flavor and I wish it was a tad tarter. There is plenty of natural light and it's an excellent place to meetup with folks or get some light work done. The staff were really friendly.

I would go here 100x over. I am a kombucha lover and the vibe of this place was also immaculate. They great your with a smile here; the woman at the bar gave me some great suggestions and let me sample some. If you are under 21, know that they card here due to the higher level of alcohol content in their brews. My only critique is to make the kombucha friendly to those who do not drink and those who are under 21z

Kombucha isn't for everyone. I enjoy it every once in a (long) while. This stuff is definitely a lot smoother than the Synergy stuff from the supermarket. They have a lot of flavors to choose from on any given day and I imagine it rotates fairly regularly. The inside has some seating, it is in the style of the stripped down brewery with exposed ductwork and industrial fans and concrete floors, etc. Some smaller tables, larger "community" tables, two really sweet couches. There's outdoor seating too which won't last much longer when the weather turns, but they have picnic benches and some seating next to fake fire. They also have beer here, so if you've got someone that's not into hippie shit, they'll at least be half satisfied.

Highly recommend if you are a kombucha drinker or want an alternative drinking option! They have a lovely seating area that is open air during nice weather. They have a large garage door that opens to connect the patio with the seating inside. It was pleasantly decorated and was all around fun to be in their space. The kombucha options were phenomenal! With so many to choose from - they even had a few hard kombuchas. The bartender working the day we stopped in was friendly and helpful. Definitely stop in while you're in the neighborhood!

There is a reason why this place has no bad reviews. They have the best kombucha by far. The atmosphere is also awesome. At Root Wild they alway have incredible seasonal flavors of Kombucha, hard kombucha and so much more to try. I can never decide on one flavor so I get a flight! Even my boyfriend loves it here.

If you've never tried kombucha before... GO HERE. If you don't like kombucha... GO HERE. If you're a home brewer... GO HERE. I think Root Wild is putting out the best kombucha in the city. Whatever you're expecting or used to - maybe that super vinegary, super sour taste - you won't find it here. Instead you'll find really creative flavor combinations - using locally sourced ingredients where and when possible - that are just subtle enough that you want to keep sipping just to get more of it. My favorites include two regulars: spiced apple (with chaga and chai) and blueberry boost (with lemon thyme and echinacea root); and, two of their in-house specials: pineapple/jalapeno and rhubarb/strawberry. My partner - who doesn't like kombucha (supposedly) - loves the Grapefruit Shine (probably because it has such a strong taste of hops)! Take note, IPA lovers. Also, can we just take a moment to admire the aesthetic here? This decor is exactly what I want my future home to look like: woods and plants, white/browns/greens, full of light, and totally comfortable. Whether you're sitting inside on the sofa enjoying a breeze coming through the giant garage door on a warm day or sitting outside by their fire under the strings of Edison light bulbs... this is a special spot.

Saturday night, we tried to order online for pickup but their online order system was down during concert night. OK. We go to the restaurant to order. It was mostly empty with a few customers. If you were unaware Austin Street found their start with their original location in Industrial Way Portland area alongside lots of breweries in the area. I believe my first visit and taste of their beers was around 9 or 8 years ago. Once this location opened up it became the go-to for visiting Austin Street as it's updated and honestly nicer. I enjoyed their first location but let's be real this space is more unique and larger! Been to this spot many a times including earlier today. They still have an industrial feel to the place but have so many plants all around to brighten the spot up. Inside while beautiful I must say the true highlight is during warm weather with their large garage doors open. It also adds tons of additional seating to enjoy the weather too! Staff is always so friendly and ready to pour your drink with a smile. Beer wise they have a large variety including IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Including a special release each year made for International Women's.For non-beer drinkers don't fret, you can find wine, ciders, seltzers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. They also offer some snacks and frequently have food trucks/carts serving as well. With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland. Well made beers with enough options for everyone to enjoy a drink even non beer fans. A place that supports many good charities/causes and hosts lots of events.
