Root'd cafe is right in our neighborhood and it's recently been renovated! We got the Beignets, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Burrito, and the Sweet N' Crunchy French Toast. The French toast was amazing!! Covered in Frosted Flakes and fried to perfection. The Breakfast burrito has this amazing orange sauce inside, I need it for ALL my breakfast burritos! It was incredible! Steak in the steak tacos was basically inedible because is every piece had large amounts of connective tissue. The flavor was good but the cut of steak was very disappointing. Also the mock-tail had no sweetness and it was supposed to be made with sprite. This place would be the perfect breakfast/brunch stop before hitting the slopes or the very first place I'd go for lunch/dinner after a day on the mountain. It's got everything you need to either start your day off on the right foot or end it on a high note. It's high quality, nutrient dense food that makes you feel refueled and rejuvenated. And a menu that makes it very hard to narrow down your order. My friend and I ordered the Beignets, the Spinach and Avocado Benedict, and the Sweet & Crunchy French Toast for our shared Sunday Brunch. And we were very impressed with both the food and speed of service. We ordered and got our beignets within minutes! The rest of our food quickly followed. Beignets: Slightly doughy in the middle but still dangerously delicious. We had to stop ourselves from clearing the plate. Spinach & Avocado Bene: The house made hollandaise is something to write home about. It was lick-your-plate good! I think the next time I would order the Traditional Bene because it seemed like prosciutto would have been the perfect accompaniment. Sweet & Crunchy French Toast: This is a showstopper the second it hits the table. It looks absolutely sinful. And tastes even better. It's very sweet, so it was nice to share with a friend instead of having ordered it for my entire meal. *Side of Eggs: YIKES! These were super oily. We didn't want to eat the eggs because they were dripping in a mystery oil and weren't very appetizing. Came here for a brunch date and I just want to say parking is awful. It's very limited and the street parking is even worse because of the location. A busy street on the corner of a light. I came on a Saturday around 11:30 and there was a 10 minute wait. It wasn't bad considering they had a live guitar show. That was very nice. Even though they were busy, service was fast. For some odd reason I was craving beignets, and although this is not Nola, these were fresh and I enjoyed them. Can't remember the name of the breakfast sandwich I got; but it was huge and stacked. I would say it's enough to share with someone. It was a bit bland, but I am a sauce girl. I fully believe some sort of sauce goes on everything I eat. Theres a sauce for everything. Even so, I still enjoyed the sandwich. Hash is hash, not much to say there. They weren't mushy, had some crunch to it but not too much. & The portion was more than enough. Root'd never disappoints. Was there twice with my dad this week. Salads are fresh and good size. My dad, who is nowhere near a vegan, really loved the coconut corn soup. It had the perfect bit of heat from jalapeño. Servers all friendly and attentive without being overbearing. There are two seating areas, including a nicely heated patio, which we enjoy in the summertime, but also was clearly warm enough for the winter. Very happy that I live near here as we also really enjoy their weekend brunch. read more

I've been here couple times, and today, I found my new dish. It's the Huevos Rancheros. It's layers of crispy corn tortillas with ground chorizo and all. Its like fancy nachos for breakfast. The staff was so nice, but it took awhile for our waitress to greet us, and our food came without utensils or napkins. We tried the deviled eggs, they were good, but little on the heavy Mayo side. I had the Huevos rancheros. It was okay. I'm half Mexican and actually make Huevos at home, and this dish needs more spice, more flavor. Pass on the sour cream, it should have cojita cheese. The hash browns here are disappointing. No seasoning, and not cooked long enough. They didn't have much flavor at all, and they need to be a little crisp. My husband liked his chili verde, but again, more spice, more flavor. My boys got the cornflake crusted French toast and the kids breakfast burrito. My son loved the French toast, it was yummy. Stopped in for dinner on a Monday night. Nice vibe. Simple and clean decor. Friendly service with a smile. Our group ordered the fish tacos, salmon bowl, and kale Caesar. Pretty tasty. I love a good fish taco and I know these tacos are well received and have plenty of praise here on Yelp. But, I felt like they were missing that extra something, like a special creamy sauce. Any aioli they had on there was not enough. The salmon bowl had creative additions and once salted the salmon was good. But the quinoa had an odd sweetness to it. We also tried some desserts and the peanut butter cookie was the favorite of the lot. Will I return? Maybe for breakfast or brunch. Vibe/ Ambiance: This is an awesome brunch spot and because so it is important to make a reservation or you'll have to wait. It's very "young and hip" but still has a very homey warm vibe to it as well. The staff is so nice I have been here twice and both times the service has bean awesome even when they had new staff they did such a good job managing all the little bumps that came along with that. It is awesome spot to have a boozy brunch with friends and family or just a simple breakfast with family. Food: For starters that have lots of different drinks and they have a fun bottle service mimosa with different juices for $43 which is not a bad deal. Where to start with the food? Honestly I have not had anything bad yet and I will for sure continue coming back to try new things. The beignets were awesome but what made them so good was the berry compote that came with it. I tried the breakfast Sandwitch with avocado and it was so yummy! The bun tasted super fresh and the Sandwitch was perfect I had zero complaints. The hash browns are good just your normal hardy hash browns. The Root'd breakfast is a classic and the sausage is awesome cooked perfect and the bacon is nice and crispy. The second visit I tried the breakfast burrito super yummy with that chipotle sauce and not to spicy only thing I wish is that it came with more pico de gallo. Ambiance and interior decorating was 5/5. Super cute vibe inside. We came here for breakfast and the breakfast options on the menu felt pretty limited. I ended up getting the avocado toast and added eggs to it. I also shared a side of beignets with my friend. They were yummy. My avocado toast came out with a nice presentation but it was so hard to eat. I had to deconstruct the whole thing. The avocado should have been smashed instead of sliced. If you tried to take a bite it just slid right off the bread. The toast was very bland and the tomatoes weren't that great. The balsamic and micro greens did add a nice flavor to an otherwise bland avocado toast. Service was okay. I was shocked that standard drip coffee was not free refills. read more
