We finally stopped here yesterday to pick-up dinner and discovered a small market and a counter service restraunt with wine and beer options. We've gone here twice for lunch. Once when it first opened and once recently. It is impressive to see how much they have grown. The building itself is very well built and decorated nicely. They have different food, drinks, gifts, etc. that you can buy on the left and the restaurant to the right. It's great to look at everything to pass the time while you wait for your food. I got the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with tomato soup. It's the perfect comfort food. The sandwich was really good. The bread it is on is delicious. The bread can either make or break a sandwich and this definitely makes it. The tomato soup was a little too creamy (creamier than the first time) but still good. We also got a gluten free/vegan brownie, which was pretty good. This is definitely pricier than a normal soup and sandwich but not awful. Great place to stop in at. Roots is definitely as good as the reviews say. I had been wanting to try it and finally did. I got the cheeseburger and it was perfect. Two fresh thin patties cooked perfectly. The bun was toasted and buttered! The hand cut fries were great as well. My husband had the brisket sandwich which was al so great. The meat was smoked, not cooked in an oven with liquid smoke like so many places around here do. The market inside had some local wines and coffee. Holy Crap! How do they justify these prices!?!?! Sure the food is good, but it's no better than food I've had driving south down 95 at a roadside joint where I spend $20 and feed my whole family. Everyone really liked their food from the brisket to turkey to roots burger. However, the check out was very slow and a bit chaotic. Also, you have to bus your own tables and if you sit outside, it can be tricky. You need a free hand to open the door and the plates they serve on are nice but fairly heavy. There should be an automatic door opener and/or an outdoor busing station if you're expected to clean your own table. read more

6/17/18 Update - Went there around 6pm Sun to give them another shot. They had sold out of everything I wanted to order. No brisket, no turkey, no pulled pork. The green haired server was clearly annoyed as she had to tell everyone that stepped up to order that they were sold out of everything everyone wanted. She gave me my ice cream immediately and I had to hold it while it melted as I waited for my food to be cooked. I really enjoyed the French fries. The Latte was good. The $15 burger however not so much. I wanted the burger for the pickles but there were no pickles and no sauces on the burger. There was less than a teaspoon of shredded lettuce and HALF a strip of bacon that they charge $2 for. Please dont insult my intelligence by serving a $15 burger of this quality. REALLY enjoy this place. I think it's a great addition to Leesburg. This is a brand new establishment and they are getting the issues worked out. The food is very good, bacon cheeseburger is $12.99. The items for sale aren't bad, lots of different foods and artisans items for sale, they will over time get more local products and fill up a lot of open space. The croissant was very fresh and good. I wish they had fresh jams and jellies to serve with the breakfast bread. I will revisit again and see how things are going. Visited easily on a Saturday morning so it was not too busy yet but I can surely see why it is usually a very busy place. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. Even when you add barbeque sauce to the sandwhich the great flavors on the meat and slaw still shine through as you are eating. They serve a sauce which is a mixture of vinegar and tomato​ based that is sure to please any true barbeque lover. The menu, though limited, offers sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, and a number of tasty sides. Everything we have tried has been good. My favorites are the ham grilled cheese and the onion soup. The iced tea is very good too, just know that the sweet tea is very sweet...I usually get the unsweetened then just add a dash of the sweetened tea. I ate here with my family and a friend, and we all loved it! It's so nice inside. The one side has things for sale from local people (woodworkers, pottery, etc) as well as candy and things like that. The other side is the restaurant. The food was so good, and the portions were very generous. They accidentally mixed up our order, but we had barely even pointed it out to them before the manager came over and apologized, reimbursed us for the extra items, and gave us some extra food for free. Phenomenal customer service! And all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ended up with the brisket sandwich, onion soup, tomato soup, salad, chicken fingers, fries, Mac & cheese, grilled ham & cheese and corn pudding.
