A fun and almost magical place. We were driving through northern Montgomery County, stopping at various Civil War spots, wineries, cideries, and meaderies. It got to be dinnertime, and we were in the middle of nowhere, so we turned to Yelp for guidance. From the ratings and reviews, this seemed like an obvious choice. Yelp was right! On the outside, this place looks like a rundown bar and the inside is no different. However, even at 5 PM the place had plenty of customers. And just about everyone was laughing and having fun. The place seemed to exude fun and friendliness. The menu was standard bar food, burgers, sandwiches, and other things you might expect. I ordered a medium-well burger and was brought to my table hot and medium-well. The patty was thick and tasty, the bun was fresh, and the fries were delicious. I know we won't drive the 60 miles to get from our home to there and am equally certain that if we're ever anywhere nearby that we'll make a point of going back. read more

Based on the reviews we stopped in for an early dinner. They had some specials but we went for some of our own picks. It's a bar... so ambiance is a bar. But the food is well worth it. Got fried pickles - they were huge.... Fried with panko I think. Unlike anything I've had before. I had the Reuben and it was the best rye bread I've ever had- and I'm from Bklyn. We found this little jewel during a poker ride back in August. Of course we only had a beer but kept seeing food coming out of the kitchen that looked amazing, and said we'd come back. 3.5 stars, but I rounded up to 4 because I'd hate to deter people from visiting a local restaurant when I know they're hurting right now (COVID). Solid bar food and spacious patio to hang out with friends, but not my ideal dive bar. The service was friendly, so no complaints there! I'll go dish by dish. 1) Brisket poutine - I'm not a poutine person but my fiance thought the shoestring fries worked well in it. Everyone at our table seemed satisfied with this item. 2) the nightmare sauce wings - my fiance is a hot sauce fiend so he had to try these. I knew they weren't nearly as spicy as advertised when he asked if I wanted to try them (my spice tolerance isn't anywhere near his level). It was enough spice to keep me from having a second bite because the spice level overpowered the other flavors for me. My fiance liked the flavor but said they could've been spicier. The gloves that came with them were appreciated though since you definitely don't want the sauce getting in your eyes (ouch!). 3) old bay wings - I liked these ones and would get them again! 4) goat cheese burger - this one was a disappointment for me for a couple reasons. I ordered it medium and it arrived well done. I'm not sure why they even bothered asking how we wanted our burgers cooked because my fiance's burger (also ordered medium) was also well done. Just say on the menu that all burgers are well done/don't ask so we know what to expect. It had good flavor, though. Still, not worth $16. I wanted a salad for a side but was told that either fries or chips were my options, period. The truffle fries were good but how many fries can one person eat? We were already getting the poutine. I felt weighed down/a bit sick to my stomach after all of the fries but I was hungry and that's what I was given. Our friends likes their grilled chicken sandwich and BLT wrap. This place just needs to put more thought into how they cook their burgers/what they can reasonably offer with 4 oz patties, and healthier side options even if it means an upcharge. Salads are on the menu so I know there's lettuce in the kitchen. read more

Never knew this place existed until friday and man i am so happy i stopped by! Looking for some wings but something different not your typical local spots. Went on google and saw "maple" flavored wings and HAD to order. We actually stopped in for their friday night wing special (as seen in the picture) all you can eat and a two hour limit. It took a bit due to being short staffed but they made sure we were attended and drinks were refilled. Super friendly staff and friendly customers as well; it was friday night karaoke and the dj made it a blast! This was a weird kind of gem in the middle of rural Maryland! We were visiting the cidery up the road and were famished after our visit. We found this joint on Yelp and had to check it out just based on the reviews. When we got there, we thought we found the wrong place. Talk about a diamond in the rough! Rough doesn't begin to cover it! It basically looks like a dive bar from the outside and the first impression when you walk in. The internal décor is a throwback to the 70s at the latest, maybe even earlier. But, look deeper and you'll see the aesthetic of a hip joint with one foot in the country and the other in the metropolitan (though no offense to either genre). The food is anything but simple bar fare, though. Brisket Poutine... I mean... just order it and you'll see what I mean. A lot of places are all: "Yeah, we smoke our brisket for yadda yadda yadda..." and you order it... and it's just... beef. This brisket? And this is just for the poutine, mind... This brisket is FULL of smoky beefy meaty goodness! It's incredible! And the rest of the ingredients match up to it. The burgers and other sandwiches were amazing as well, but I got full on those brisket fries man! I didn't have room for much else. With three of us splitting apps, we still got full right away. That speaks to the decent sized portions. All of us left with a to-go box with basically our entire entree in tow. The drinks were also pretty inventive and pretty hip, if I do say. Not pretentious, but approachable and delicious. Our server was a peach. Super-helpful, really friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The bartender was nice to talk to as well. Honestly, my only complaint was the interior. Even with walking the line between the local/country community and the hipster tourists that come by, the tables and chairs look like they're going to fall apart any day now. It's ever-so-slightly uncomfortable. It's not enough to deter me from going back, but it could use a little TLC is all. Overall, what a great find in the middle of practically nowhere! Poutine Brisket fries and Raspberry Vodka Lemonade on a socially distanced outdoor deck. A perfect summer evening. The Poutine fries were amazing. Shoestring fries heaped in a pie tin, smothered with brown gravy, topped with meaty piles of thinly-shaved brisket then smothered in cheese and broiled until the cheese was a melty, gooey covering and the edges of the brisket were crisp. My son ordered the Blackened Chicken wrap, and he said it was very good. The chicken was spicy, but not over powering, and the kitchen prepared his special order (no tomato, no bacon, add cheese), correctly. Our server suggested the Raspberry Vodka Lemonade, saying the lemonade was freshly made. Excellent recommendation. The drink was icy and sweet, with just enough tart to pucker my mouth and make me reach for another sip. It was so tasty that I ordered a second, good thing that I had my son to drive as the Inn doesn't skimp on mixed drinks. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and made sure to tell us about the Monday night burger special. We will be back. read more

Came here with my daughter as a stop along the way to Virginia. A rough-around-the-edges local crowd. I think everyone knew each other but us. This is usually a good sign, and that was no exception here. We started with the poutine. A bit heavy, but definitely tasty. Fries are more of the shoestring variety. The gravy was yummy. I had 6 wings and my daughter had the chicken sandwich. Wings were good. Chicken sandwich was a bit dry and could have been a little spicier. If it were just a food rating, I'd give it 3 stars, but our waitress was very friendly and made us feel right at home. I can see why the locals love this place. read more

I was impessed with their website which specifically outlined their operating procedures during this Pandemic and when I arrived it was obvious that they were following it to the letter. I recently moved back to Frederick County and live nearby. A good friend had told me the food, especially the wings was ]very good so I placed a carryout order ( great idea they employ] is to ask what time )you want to pick up your food) and when I arrived I decided to have a drink. The bartender told me all the inside tables were taken and would I like to sit outside. It was breezy and the view was lovely. My Margherita was delivered to my table and it was just what I needed. I ordered Old Bay wings with Blue Cheese Dressing ( if you want celery there is an additional charge. The wings did not disappont. They were meaty, moist with a crispy OLD BAY exterior, not at all greasy. The Blue Cheese dressing could benefit from additional chunks of cheese because it tasted more like Ranch. I also ordered a cheeseburger, medium rare with plain fries. The fries were a little more well done than I prefer but it was clear they were fresh cut. The cheeseburger contained two patties of quality ground beef however it was not medium rare and the edges were black and crispy. I asked for lettuce, tomato and onion which were on the sandwich but were chopped up. I prefer slices of tomato and onion and leaves of lettuce but again its all up to preference. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. I definitely plan to return as there are many more menu items I want to sample. Prices are reasonable and the area is really blessed to have this gem. read more

The flavor was good. I ate the whole thing so obviously...The garlic truffle fries were disappointing. The flavor was almost there but too much minced garlic took over.
