GUIDE to ordering Roppolo's Pizza Use common sense when ordering pizza at this place and your opinion of it will go up. From my own experiences here and the reviews of others I've concluded that Roppolo's can be amazing if you pick the right slice. YOU HAVE TO GET A FRESH SLICE!!!! It's detrimental to satisfying your craving for adequate pizza. Examine your options thoroughly. Ask one of the employee's which slices were baked most recently. Look for cheese that looks somewhat shiny/greasy still. If the mozz is dry and grayish the pizza is too old to enjoy. Also try to determine if the crust looks kind of stale, or if any of the toppings look slighty dried out or old. If you are too drunk or in a hurry to be picky then just order a pepperoni slice or a cheese and you have a decent chance of getting a fresh slice. They are the most commonly sold slices so you have better odds. If I could give it a range of ratings it'd be 2-4.5 stars but since it's not possible then a 3 will have to do. read more

I bring my hole family of 5 me my wife and 3 kids plus my sister in law with her family of 4 to this place to eat some pizza and have a good time.Everything was nice and we went to that area because was the Pecan Fest on downtown.Right when we finish we went out and my daughter told me that she wants to go to the restroom of course I went back inside and the cashier asked me "where you going?" I told him my daughter wants to go to the restroom so he told if she wants go you have to buy something on that point I was mad but I didn't had time to argument so I told him give me a soda I paid for and finally she went to the restroom on that moment another employee told him "hey man thats not right he just came with his hole family and spent almost $190" and he was trying to ignore that and apologize at the same time then a couple was there too and they was so disappointed with the situation and they told me if that's happened to my daughter I should buy a soda too to let her go to the restroom to be honest that's was the last time that I visited that place,is so many more places on downtown 6th st to eat great pizza. read more

Ignorant and Rude! The door said they open at 11am and we walked in just after 1pm on Saturday 11/27 right after we left the Day of the Dead parade and the young ignoramous inside making the pizzas told us to get out that they will open in 5 minutes. The older guy was opening the store front to the outside and placing pizzas in the chest....2 of which were there when we walked in....from last night perhaps??? We left after they made us wait in the beating sun way past 5 minutes. We went back to our hotel and ate there. We were there for full pies, not slices. Guess they didn't need our business....but hey, keep on hiding behind that Oprah Magazine get up.....I heard locals talking about this place and it was pretty much if you are drunk it's great. Roppolo's is awesome!! My husband decided for our wedding that he wanted a late night snack instead of a traditional grooms cake. Roppolo's delivered our pizza to our venue including a surprise heart shaped pizza for my husband and myself. Our guest loved it! Nothing like a big ol' delicious slice of pizza after a long night of partying! This place always has a good amount of people waiting to get their fix. I can definitely see why. It is Deeelicious! And the slices are HUGE. There have several different options for you to choose from. For the size, they are reasonably priced. There is a long counter inside if you choose to hang out and eat there before you go on with the partying. Most people I see take to go and eat it on their way to another bar. The staff is great. I can't stand this place. The pizza is bland, the toppings look like they are a week old, this is my last resort for food on dirty 6th. Even if they were the only place open, I would still contemplate getting Whataburger on the way home instead. If you need to break that glass, and hit the emergency button to get something in your stomach, lest you boot all over the 6th street, Roppolo's will work, but like a real emergency, it should only be used when you're in dire straights. read more

Not only is the owner a WONDERFUL person (I know him VERY well), the pizza in incredible! The sauce was not too sweet and very flavorful, the toppings fresh, and the Oh-So-Good crust was WAY better than the super-greasy stuff you get at other places! I would HIGHLY recommend the place to anyone....and the location is right in the heart of everything, so it's EASY to find! My friends and I were hungry right after watching a show at Stubb's, but we didn't want to drive anywhere since parking is a bitch downtown during the weekend. So, my Austin-savy friend suggested Roppolo's - a hole in the wall pizza place that looks like it should be in Brooklyn. You pick a slice and they toast it for you. Viola! I ordered the vegetarian slice with brocolli and it was pretty good, although not worth $3. I'd rather go to Home Slice off South Congress. *sigh* Like I said, we didn't want to drive so this place was the next best thing. Anyway, my friends offered some of that very pizza to this guy who played with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs while we were at the Beauty Bar, and the manorecic guitarist (not Nick Zinner) exclaimed, "No thanks. This pizzeria not only has a great location but also great food! The prices were reasonable and the pizza variety was fantastic. I got a huge slice of pepperoni with bacon that was just big enough to fill the hole in my heart that was left by not being able to see the entire Ben Cina show across the street at Blind Pig. Roppolo's is everywhere during South By. It's ridiculous, I tell you. Maybe I was drunk or something, but it seemed like there was one on every block, and on the blocks where they weren't, they had a truck selling their pizza out of it. This is mediocre pizza with tremendous crust. Make sure to get a piece with a giant crust or you won't like it. If you don't like crust, you won't like it. Roppolo's is the best Sicilian pizza. Their pizza, ranked #16 out of #100 in 2012, never disappoints. This is not just after party soak up the alcohol food! This is my family's favorite pizzeria. We live in Cedar Park but whenever we want pizza we drive to the original Roppolo's on 6th. We haven't been to the 2nd location on Guadalupe...yet. Sunday after church is our favorite time to go. We like to eat on the second floor where there is a tv for my husband & son to watch the game & when it's colder we like to eat inside on the 3rd floor. After a long day of travel followed by day drinking, we settled into our room at the Holiday Inn Town Lake and wanted pizza. We didn't want the chain stuff, but really hadn't tried any of the delivery services that will bring you food from the mom and pop places. We decided the menu at Roppolo's looked amazing, and decided we wanted their Godfather Pizza, loaded with meats. I called them and they patiently gave me instructions how to order through Grub Hub to get it delivered, I appreciated their kindness. We got it ordered and requested it be well done, it was delivered in about a half hour, and it was perfect!! It was soooo good, the meatballs on it were just the best!!! Pizza is always good after a long night of partying. Customer service is not great but they make it up with their pizza.

Solid pizza offering in a quaint setting. Beer by the bottle. Pizza is solid, they obviously use quality ingredients. The Godfather was meaty and smoky. The crust was crunchy and light, but filling. The Italian Garden had all the right veggies, and wasn't watery like some veggie pizzas can become. Huge slices, seriously, two slices is a meal. A definite do again. read more

I was downtown last Thursday with a friend that had a cousin visiting from Italy. We had gone to dinner earlier in the evening & during dinner he said that Pizza Hut was the worst pizza in the world & that Italians hated it. Then, we where showing him 6th street around 12:30am & he saw Roppolo's Pizza. He wanted to try it out so we all got a slice. Mine was horrible, but I don't say anything. I asked if he like his & he shrugged & said:"Well, it is better then Pizza Hut." He was basically saying that it was just a little better then the worst pizza in the world! I personally thought it tasted like cardboard. I threw away half of it. I may have eaten the whole thing if I where drunk, but I was sober & aware of how bad it tasted. So, if you are wasted on 6th street it may be good to eat some of this pizza. Otherwise, I would stay away from it. read more

Greetings. I was in town for ACL 2014 weekend 2 and I stayed at Extended Stay America. I thought it was pretty neat that a Roppolo's truck was right outside the hotel at night. I was wrong. On Saturday,I approached the truck at 9:15 and was told that they were not open for pizza, only drinks. (keep in mind the truck lists hours as 9 PM - 3 AM). The person in the truck turned around and ignored me, so it was a good thing I did not just want a drink. On Sunday, I get back from ACL at about 9 and see the truck open even though the hours list it as Fri and Sat. I head down 6th for a couple of hours and when I get back at about 12:05 the truck is closed. I call Roppolos since they deliver as well. The person who answered stated that they cannot deliver (even though they are open until 3) and hang up on me. Great. As far as service is concerned, I rate them a 1 being that it is the lowest rating. As for product I would rate a 0 because as far as I am concerned, it does not exist. I can't do that so I guess it is a 1 all the way around. read more

This is a good slice of pizza. The cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings are well done. You go here for late night munchies and on occasion for the whole pizza pick-up. Pizza by the slice is a good deal and they have a variety of options on hand to choose from. I enjoy their Hawaiian pizza, it has the right amount of pineapples and I would add jalapenos to give it the extra zing. When it gets busy you will have to wait, but for the amount of traffic they get and the waiting time I would say they do a bang up job. I talked with the Owner Mark on one occasion and he was very nice and professional. Overall, if you are drunk on sixth this is a 5 star place. If you are sober it is a 4 star.
