Roppongi has always been our favorite sushi restaurant, but with the new administration, it is even more .... this is the best sushi restaurant in town, the rolls are perfectly proportioned (before the rolls were too big), My husband and I are happy and we recommend it. Love this place! We came here for dinner with our 10 month old and the staff was so welcoming and friendly with her. Good service, worst lion king roll ever. It was soupy. Rice and seaweed wrap was water logged, they should of delivered to us in a soup bowl . I'm sure they microwaved It. should have been cooked in a broiler. They refused to refund us on this one item we never even touched it, keep in mind we paid for all other items. Best sushi restaurant in Livermore! Went for lunch on a weekday. The portion sizes were great. We ordered an Alaska Roll, Rock N Roll, Cherry Blossom Roll, and the Lion King I Roll. We were surprised when the waiter also brought us miso soup and salad as an appetizer. All the fish tasted incredibly fresh and buttery. The Cherry Blossom was by far our favorite. The waiter was very nice and very attentive to us. The only downside to our visit was the music. It was very loud! Usually I go to Man Puku but this was worth the price increase! They don't serve spring rolls or anything similar...lame! Pretty basic Japanese food... nothing fantastic. My shrimp tempura roll was 4 huge pieces it's hard to eat all at once they should have stuck with 8 pieces. Don't order the ramen. I know this is a sushi restaurant and they also have Korean dishes but don't order the ramen. Everything else was legit and I had no complaints but don't order the ramen. The ramen they serve is the cheap 25 cent maruchan noodles that you buy when you're broke college kid that is over boiled so it loses it's texture. They add other thing to the soup but it's really hard to not notice that they have gone really cheap and served cheap ramen. And they even screwed up how the ramen was served when it came bubbling hot. I know this isn't a ramen place but it should really take this off the menu or serve better quality ramen and price it higher if they are going to keep it in the menu. This place used to be my FAVORITE! They just got new owners and it's changed for the worst. First of all, no more free miso soup and salad while you're waiting for your sushi (sad) :'( Second, it took about 45 minutes to get our sushi! I could understand if it was busy, but we were literally the only ones in the whole restaurant and we could see the sushi chefs were just watching the basketball game. Also, I think they took away the AMAZING happy hour that used to be offered. Or they just didn't give us the happy hour menu. My boyfriend and I were so excited because we just moved back to Livermore which means more roppongi, but I don't think we'll be going back. Very sad! read more

Great service. Excellent jalapeño poppers appetizers. Anything with fish had too much mayo (not sure fresh) and topico was red with dye vs a more authentic orange. The worst sushi place I have ever visited. Started off waiting for 15 min before getting a drink. Then, people around us were getting their food before we did and we showed up 20 minutes before them. After sitting there for 40 min we got 1 roll but ordered 3. The remaining 2 didn't show up for another 20 min. That is a 1hr wait for 3 rolls and there was barely any customers. To top it all off, they messed up on 1 roll and burnt the crap out of our spider roll. The roll literally was black and they expected us to eat it. We got no drink refills and only had a waiter at our table for our original order and check. Never asked how it was or stopped by. Roppongi! It's kind of insane how this place only had 3.5 stars. And let me tell you I love sushi. The sushi here, is pretty darn good. I am kind of bummed I forgot to check in to this place too. So my friend and I went here to grab some dinner. I was initially a little sketched out about this place, because of the star rating. But hey, I am not from Livermore, and I can't suggest any good food places in this area. So there is no other choice but to be adventurous. No regrets here. The sushi here tastes pretty fresh. I honestly don't remember the rolls we ordered. Besides that we ordered the poki salad, baked mussles, and fried oysters. Poki salad, awesome. Baked mussles, awesome. This is our favorite sushi restaurant and as good as it gets in Livermore. The food have consistently been very good and the freshness of the sashimi has not failed me. The customer service have always been on point whether I go in for a business meeting, a happy hour (because I worked through lunch), or dinner with the family. The servers greet you with a smile, and are always checking in to refill water/tea and ask if you need anything else. The sushi chefs are friendly and do try to engage those who sit at the bar. Though they also know not to get too chatty if you're obviously there for a business lunch. I almost forgot to mention, but they have one of the best lunch special deals in town! They give a full bento box with generous servings. I usually get the chicken teriyaki lunch special with Cali roll. I eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner, saving the California roll for the kids. read more

My girlfriend and I always come here during the happy hour. The happy hour menu is absolutely my favorite out of all of the sushi restaurants I go to. Never coming here again! Service was terrible because of the Owner she was terrible. Charged someone at our table a $12 dollar TIP and they did not deserve a tip. When we said we aren't paying for the tip the owner got mad. Then we noticed she was taking a picture of us, when asked about it she denied it and said she was taking a picture of the plant she showed us the picture and said she wanted a picture to remember us by. So she straight lied and was taking unapproved pictures of us. Food wasn't good. We ordered spicy pork and it looked and tasted disgusting and smelled like dog food. The rice tasted over cooked and was also hard. Also the rolls are a lot smaller then they use to be. I'm not coming here again. My son and I ate here this afternoon. Have been many times and always had a good experience. But today we ordered the garlic edamame and when it arrived it smelled like dog food. I told my son to stop eating it as the aroma was compete dissatisfying and unappealing. I walked up to the served and advised him of my concern and that I no longer wanted to them. He understood and then advised me that I was the SECOND person to complain about the edamame being off and gross. The lady there proceed to tell me that maybe the fish oil smell they used to cook it was just too strong for me. I said No, I don't think so. I just would not like to eat them. I normally drive to Alameda and dine at Sushi House for some fresh sashimi or some crazy monkey rolls. Now I may just drive a bit farther for some Japanese/Korean food. This Japanese restaurant serves fresh sashimi, with thick slices... along with some creative rolls (Samurai was good), plus there's Korean dishes as well. My favorite is the donburi (sp?), Korean pot stickers. They were lightly pan fried and full of silver noodles and chives. Along with the miso soup, we also ordered my husbands favorite which is the spicy tofu soup. My five year old is a fan of sashimi and the waitress was very thoughtful to lend her a pair of some very cool panda chopsticks. The service was prompt, although its hard to tell since we dined during mid day, so there were only two other occupied tables. But the waitress recommended some dishes to us which turned out to be pretty good. The prices are fair in comparison to other Japanese restaurants, and proportion wise, it's very reasonable. What you may find is the rolls have less rice and more fish, which is, to me, a better value. The location is easy to find because its on First Street which is downtown Livermore. read more

The food was average. We ordered 2 rolls and both rolls tasted the same. I also ordered udon which tasted like the pre-packaged ones that you can buy. The service was terrible although the food arrived quickly. I had asked for our saki and beer about 3 times. We were probably the third table in the restaurant so lack of attention was saying the least. Mind you the other guests were either done eating and waiting for their checks or just chatting away.
