Absolutely the best bakery on the peninsula by a mile. A smallish selection of items, but almost everything is excellent. I love the excitement of seeing what items they'll have when I go (they rotate the selection seasonally). The corn and cherry scone and the baker's choice bread with baked-in herbs are my favorite items, but I haven't been disappointed by anything yet. A friend told me about Rosalind and I had the olive loaf with some deli meat. It was very very fresh and so good tasting.

I wandered around and saw their bread from the window and my daughter was begging for it. Comfort food! That's their Dad's bread to me. The taste brought me back to childhood when I used to buy fresh hot bread and eat half of it on the way home. That's now my go-to place for bread despite the price ($10 per loaf). I also loved their croissants- just enough crisp on the outside with perfect fatty layers inside. I just need to try all their assortment and somehow to manage stay fit for summer. Such a gooood bakery! This place is a local gem and I have to say, their hot drinks definitely surpass many coffee-specialized places! I ordered the Orange Blossom Latte and the Spicy Mocha and they were divine! The flavors were strong, without being too overpowering and the mocha was creamy, chocolatey, and thick, just like the perfect mocha should be! Their breads are full of flavor as well and their lemon zest added a nice kick to the olive bread I bought. The Rye Sesame bread is also a good choice! I wish they would have some vegan pastries and cookies, but coming for the bread and coffee is solely worth it. However, what really made this place special are the people working here. Went there to buy the sesame crusted rye loaf on a recommendation from a friend. I had bought their coast side sourdough before and love it. The rye bread did nit disappoint. Absolutely delicious!! Total bummer use to love this place when it opened. Service is now hit or miss. The one register line situation is poorly managed. Staff are often confused and they do not communicate very well with each other. Today (the last time I will go) after waiting 15 minutes in line and waiting for the baguette, I was told to go by the door and take it from some shelf/bin. When I got to my car I checked said baguette out and there was no way that it was made that day (hard as a rock). Was already annoyed so did not ask for a refund. If i wanted a stale baguette I would go to the Safeway next door for 1/2 the price. read more

I'm amused that people have likened Rosalind Bakery to Tartine in the city. Those are massive shoes to fill; Rosalind's products fall short. Here's the rundown of all the items I tried: -- pan au chocolat: generous dark chocolate filling, however the pastry's consistency didn't have the soft, flakey layers I'm used to sinking my teeth into. -- cookies: I tried both a chocolate chip topped with sea salt & one I can't recall the name of (Golden Milk, perhaps?) The latter had a unique red-colored interior & tasted like cinnamon. Nice chewy texture on both, probably the items I liked most. -- brownie: completely forgettable; had I not photographed it I wouldn't have remembered purchasing it, let alone trying it. -- pizza w/ mushrooms: pizza fail. Very little flavor & dough was tough as if it'd been sitting for too long. -- original grandma slice: the cashier asked which piece I wanted (middle, edge, corner) of this square pizza which reminded me of focaccia. Very little cheese & sauce topping, & the dough was undercooked. I toasted it in a pan for a few minutes to finish the cooking process which improved it, but what an odd & off-putting experience to bite into raw dough. When an eatery has won over my heart, I make many repeat visits. My first visit to Rosalind Bakery, three weeks ago, remains my only. read more

Rosalind is hands down the best bakery in Pacifica, although it's a bit pricey then others but it's totally worth it because they use quality ingredients in everything they make. Rosalind staff behind the counter is pretty friendly. I live down the street and come here atleast once a day when I am in town. My only concern is that lot of time they run out of stuff and then I have to go to Mazetti's down the street and they are good to but Rosalind is at whole different level. Rosalind has a very good ambiance and they also have live music on Fridays. I would like to request the owner to have the sandwiches available all the time because I love the sandwiches but they are sold out 9 out of ten times or not making them on that particular day as I am told by the staff. I love the sourdough pizza slices, they are delicious. My main go to item on daily basis are the incredible pastries, they are down right scrumptious. Called the bakery when I got home and nobody answered, despite plenty of staff being present and it being within business hours. A previous time I got sick from a pre-made sandwich with mayo which may have sat in the window exposed to the sun too long. Was really excited to try this place during a long overdue trip to Pacifica. Heard great things about the focaccia pizza and so I had to grab a slice; they were large and delicious looking squares in the window. Since the pizza was served in a takeout box I didn't see what was inside until I drove to the pier. The slice inside the box was clearly triangular instead of square, like it was cut diagonally. Based off of other reviews the pizza should've in fact been a square slice so I don't know what happened...like are they reducing portions due to inflation or did they purposefully give me half of a slice for $5? 2 stars because it was good (would've been better if there were hot/warm options) and I will give the benefit of the doubt, but having to wonder if you were treated differently for any reason is not as good. read more

Came here mid morning on a random Wed. I have been on a CORN binge lately, most likely due to CORN KID. If you put corn in it, I WILL TRY IT. I wanted to try their blue corn cookie, but they were soooooo disappointingly sold out at like 10:30am. I tried their corn cherry scone instead. It was good and honestly fairly priced considering bakeries these days. I got the sourdough baguette for my brother who loves sourdough, he said he enjoyed it and finished it within 3 days. I wasn't a huge fan, mainly because they make their sourdough out of non bleached flour, but I'm not a sourdough queen so take my opinion with a grain of salt. All in all, would definitely come again if I were in the area, but I would definitely call next time before I trek all the way there for those blue corn cookies! read more

My husband and I have come by a few times since we're in Daly City and close by, but have never bought anything. We decided to try it today, and I'm really glad that we did! We went around 11:15, so most of their pastries were already gone. Since it was close to lunchtime, it seemed fine to go with the veggie sandwich and a slice of pizza. I would definitely recommend both! I had the veggie sandwich, and it had the perfect amount of roasted veggies and cheese. The sundried tomato pesto (which you can also buy containers of) was a welcome addition, but I would have liked just a little on the bottom slice. Overall, good sandwich, but the baguette was a bit hard to chew with everything else. I tried a bite of pizza and it was also really good! Super fresh and saucy, just like I like it. We are longtime local customers and it's been disappointing on the last 3 visits. We used to be able to go on weekends to get warm freshly baked bread. It was amazing. But now since they opened the SF location, I have not been able to get warm fresh bread. In fact I am pretty sure the bread they are selling is day old bread at the same price! Noticed a line while driving through the area and thought I might check it out. Nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread. I ordered a baguette, turnover (veggie filled), chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll and a coffee. I just wanted to try everything but decided on these items for now. Everything was really good and they have plenty of other items I'm definitely going to come back and try. Only reason for not giving 5* is that I guess the barista is in the back so I'm not sure if they get coffee orders as it's ordered or if the ticket needs to be handed to them but seemed like everyone waited awhile for their coffee orders. Everyone one was standing outside with their pastries and bread waiting on their drink order. I'm sure they'll figure out a better system but hey I'm here for the bread and the bread is like a baked cloud if that makes any sense lol read more

Cracking through the crusty outer layer and savoring the dense, chewy, almost-still-warm interior with a bit of butter and honey is something I think I will start to do more often with this world-class bread! I walked in, saw the food and portions and walked out. I came in to order ham and cheese croissants but they were $6 for portion that is half of what you get most places. The chocolate croissants were also over $5. They did have a giant cinnamon roll for $10, but my kids don't like those. I really couldn't justify buying anything here with their super high prices when a beloved, delicious, and AFFORDABLE bakery is a block away at Mazetti's. Judging by the amount of day old items for sale, I'm guessing they aren't selling as much as they could be because people are not interested in spending so much. My other favorite place for baked goods is in El Granada at the press which is also much more affordable, larger portions, and excellent quality. For positives, the space looks nice! I hope they are able to stay around bug should really consider the amount of business they are losing by over charging. read more

I went to this bakery on 5-1-23 and ask the server for half of the Coastside Sourdough which sells for $12. The server told me that the cost would be $8. Now, I did in fact fail math in high school, but even I know that half of 12 is 6 not 8! When I informed her of this, she cut a slice off of the bread and bagged it up for me. This whole episode was idiotic. I really wanted the bread, so I left with 3/4 of a loaf for $8. I've since decided to go to b. patisserie in SF instead. Rosalind Bakery is my favorite stop in all of Pacifica. The food is fresh and delicious without a pretentious price tag, and the employees who work here are friendly and hardworking. After being a barista for years I've, for better or worse, developed a very critical espresso palette. Rosalind Bakery makes the best espresso I've ever had. I ordered the orange cream latte and the espresso blended with the milk without being too strong or too overpowered by the cream or sugar. It was smooth and slightly nutty, just as it is supposed to be. Shout out to Gabriel who made my drink! Everything about this place is good. Good Coffee, Great Pastries, Friendly Customers Service and Delicious Bread. They have a great choice of sourdough bread loafs to choose from. Loafs are in the large side but you can also buy a half only. I personally like the one with the walnuts. They also sell sourdough starter that I have made many yummy things with. I also noticed they sell pizza dough for you to make pizza at home/sauerkraut (I haven't tried it). They have a great selection of pastries and it looks to me like they do extra special ones on the weekend which I need to try soon. Customers service is good all the time and I spoke to the owner (I found out he was the owner later on) once about his sourdough starter and he was happy to explain the ratios of feeding it and using it. I was very impressed with his willingness to share his knowledge with me. After I did my research I realized he was the owner and I was impressed he was humble and never said he was the owner after I praised him for his knowledge of bread making. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good loaf of bread. I grew up with my parents always having acme bread at home, so pretty spoiled. Dare I say Rosalind is better? It totally is! I love their butter croissants or rye sesame loaf, it's a rye sourdough loaf with toasted sesame seeds that tastes so god with butter, peanut butter or dipped into a fried or jammy egg.
