Very friendly staff, lots of parking, clean dining area (indoor/outdoor), chips and salsa are homemade and a great menu. My wife ordered her usual beef taco but also wanted to try the rolled taco. I know, I tried to explain that it's basically the same thing but ... 30yrs later she still keeps me around. Anyway, keep in mind that she LOVES Taco Bell and JIB's tacos too. I came for breakfast. The place was packed, good music, nice waitress & staff. I made the mistake of ordering 2 things, that both had glowing, and eye-catching, artificially bright-red tone to them, which indicated either achiote, or, more probably Red # 5. The Menudo. And the Michelada. The Modelo especial was still tasty away from the cheap mixer, and the Menudo DID have both pata and hominy, but the broth was a low-effort thing, done with a packet, rather than with love & care over many hours. I know, I know, not everyone worries about such things, but I do. (And there was Nothing to represent the many layered flavors that you get with chillies and spices. Just artificially bright red, clear liquid, saved only by the pata that made it have some flavor. To me, it is like lipstick on a pig; it really is not going to make a thing more attractive nor disguise what it is: -Fake. A cheap trick. But for most people, especially those who do not like spicy things, it would probably do. Just not for me. I was a cook in a Mexican restaurant, as well as a bartender, in a very busy bar, but, you don't hand people stuff like that, and think it will pass. -hey- that's just me. For folks who think Sunny delight is "juice," or that an Otter pop is a bit of frozen fruit? Then enjoy. All the other food that I saw there looked lovely. Nice portions, attractively served. -It was just my day to pick the only 2 things they cut corners on. I will come back. But I will caution folks who like authentic homemade menudo, and micheladas with more "normal" ingredients to avoid just those 2 items. Menudo & Michelada. The meal wasn't bad, but seemed a bit on the pricey side for what I got. $9.25 didn't sound too bad for a Beef Burrito and an Enchilada combo; especially since it includes rice and beans. But I got to admit I was expecting a bigger and better portion than what was served up. There was nothing wrong with either item, but they were both on the tiny side for a lunch special and not all that exciting, The burrito was simply shredded beef (with no noticeably seasoning) rolled into a small tortilla. The saving grace was the pico de allo salsa served up with the comp tortilla chips. The enchilada was slightly better, but again very small; like it came off the taco bell 99 cent menu. Still it was tasty. The place is small maybe about 10 tables, but was fairly busy at noontime. There were too waitresses, a lazy blonde who basically spent most of the time waiting by the cash register (which made no sense as they collect the payments at the table), while her partner with the dark hair was working her butt off. As you can probaly guess, I was in the blondes section. Luckily, I was able to flag her down for a couple of the refills. I sure hope they split the tips there. read more

We only went here because we couldn't find anything else in this tiny town. It looked pretty authentic so we decided to give it a try. It's hard to mess up Mexican food, especially in Cali. There's not much to say about this place. It's dinky and the food is average. The piña colada is pretty gross and I never heard of anyone using wine for it. Beans were runny and the rice was too salty. My chicken taco was great but definitely needed more of a kick. It's great for cheap food on the fly but I wouldn't come here again. I ordered two burritos to go and an Agua Fresca, my burrito was good, the carnitas were insanely juicy and tender. The tortilla seems housemade but it's super thick and requires a lot of chewing. Other than the carnitas is pico de Gallo and guacamole and even though the meat is good the burrito as a whole was bland which was a little disappointing. Ordered a California burrito with no sour cream or cheese and there was only fries and steak in the burrito. Ordered rolled tacos as well and in both the burrito and the rolled tacos there were no veggies maybe that is just how they come. But with no guac in the burrito it was very dry. Used to love Rosa's. Seems like new owners and service staff... prices have jumped and waitresses essentially ignore you. I had to get up and peer into kitchen area to get the waitress' attention and ask for a refill. They also don't offer to get you more salsa when they drop the food off...the last time you will see the waitress until you walk up to the register to pay. Don't be discourage on how old the place might be. The food honestly was good. The chips and salsa were good. My personal favorite was the green salsa. It had a small spicy kick to it! Felt sick to my stomach immediately after having their shrimp cocktail. 3 hours later, I'm at home with the worst food poisoning I've ever had. First and last time I eat at this place. I do not enjoy paying money to spend the rest of my day stuck in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and quick with their service so I feel bad for writing this review, but their food is going into people's bodies. They should know when their shrimp is either too old or too warm to serve to people.
