I was really craving delicious Mexican food after reading some reviews we thought it would be a great experience. But what would you know Our whole meal was horrible. The taste was not close to what we expected.the tortillas taste like they had them sitting there for days not to mention the meats. This place is not even close to authentic Mexican food. Went to Rosa's with a large group of friends. There were nachos, taco salad, burritos, flautias and quesadillas. This food is terrific. The chips and salsa are great while your food is being prepared. The service was a little slow but the food was good and we had the time to relax and catch up. Being a vegetarian and loving Mexican food is sometimes difficult. I love how they have a section for us and i highly recommend the veggie burrito with red sauce, even if you arent vegetarian! So yummy and is very filling. Every chance i can get, i come here. Also my boyfriend (not vegetarian) loves their breakfast burritos and he is a picky eater. So difficult to find something to please him and hes not the biggest fan of mexican food like i am. Overall, love this place and the family that own it are so sweet. read more

I had heard that this place had gone downhill in both service and food quality. It wasn't that crowded so the service was fine but the food did definitely go downhill the salsa was not made fresh anymore and the sauces were, I'm pretty sure out of a can. I ordered a pork tamale and an enchilada. The tamale was mushy and the enchilada was just bland. I know I live in the number retirement place in America but I wish they would keep a little "pep" in the food! I would go back but I am disappointed. read more

Rosa's food is authentic and yummy! They make everything fresh, and as someone who is originally from California (where the Mexican food was amazing), I do know what I'm talking about. Second time to this restaurant, and LAST visit. Service was terrible; only five tables occupied and we waited more than 25 minutes. Ordered a fajitas burrito, thought that was a safe bet. WRONG ! The first bite was excellent, hot, chicken was tender; veggies were crisp. Aah, but the second bite - this hot burrito was also filled with hot sour cream; it was ghastly. I no longer had an appetite, told the surly waitress it was inedible; she sends out the manager, he offers to make something else; when I tell him I no longer can eat, he walks away. The bill comes out and my one-bite meal costs me full boat. So this place would rather lose a customer PERMANENTLY, rather than the couple bucks it cost them to make it. Lesson learned; better off making my own at home. read more

We happened to come upon this quaint and wonderful restaurant while on vacation and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. Food was excellent and there was plenty of food on your plate. The owner Rosa was a very sweet person. This will be our new stop when we come to Florence, OR. read more

This place is very clean, and the service was good. As for authentic, not so much. I ordered pozole, which was so far from pozole, I almost laughed. It literally was hominy, still in the juices from the can, heated up with some carnitas tossed into it. I was heart broke. The menudo is almost as pathetic as the pozole. I'd avoid the soups there. On the other hand, the tortillas are hand made and delicious. I also had a carnitas taco and it was good too. If you have eaten good authentic Mexican food, you know this isn't it. But if you haven't, or if you are desperate for Mexican food fix, this will do in a pinch. read more

If you want consistently good Mexican food Rosa's is the place. Have been going to Rosas's for five years and it's never disappointed us. Usually we have the seafood enchiladas and they are always excellent. The burrito grande is a great deal and almost enough for two meals. All for around $10. Our son loves the albondigas soup and the pozole. Hard to go wrong with just about anything you order. The owners Rosa and Jose, welcome you as "amigos" and treat you like family. One of the best Mexican Restaurants in Oregon. Coming from So. CA that is saying a lot. All the food is made with fresh ingredients and the meat is always high quality. The food is authentic Mexican. The service has always been excellent in the past. The family that owns this restaurant suffered the tragic loss of their young son this past summer. During that time, the restaurant was closed for a period of time and since then the service has not been as good as it was in the past due to changes in staffing. Rosa's is as good as it gets for Mexican Food and being a Native Californian with a Hispanic husband who grew up eating good Mexican food, and knowing all the good places in So Cal, we are so happy to have this place here. I can't understand the few negative reviews I've read, are they just complainers? We are locals (for the last 7 years) and the only time we've been disappointed with Rosa's is on Sunday (she takes the day off and the substitute cook is not that good .....the food is bland). I'm a native of Phoenix, AZ and have eaten at numerous 'authentic' Mexican restaurants. I also heard that the Pacific NW ppl do not like spicy foods....well, I'm starting to think its true. My wife had pozole soup, a great lightly spiced hominy soup. They dumped a can (with liquid) out of a hominy can and served it. I had the menudo soup. That's right - absolutely NO flavor or spice. Then our enchiladas came(1 red, 1 green). The red sauce was orange- why? because there was ZERO chilies in it! It was simply colored red with NO flavor!....The green actually had a tomatillo flavor....but that was ALL! The staff was very friendly and food came out quick, but I guess the bottom line is....if you are looking for Mexican food that has ALL the flavor removed, this is your restaurant ! read more
