This is one of the most delicious and best priced pizza places you can eat downtown. You can get 2 slices and a drink for $6.50. The staff is always friendly and interactive. There are also many options other than pizza to choose from. They have calzones and gluten free options too. The only caveat I have to say about Rosa's is the line around lunchtime can be a bit long. This was my first visit here. I don't know why I ordered two slices, but if I was able to eat all of it god knows I would! I had one hot sausage and one pepperoni with extra cheese on both. I ate half of each to make sure I savored both slices. The sausage was great and taste authentic. The atmosphere was incredible. The gentleman at the register was a delight, and had a great attitude. Rosa's Pizza is definitely better than the highly touted and super expensive Antico! I ordered a mushroom slice of NY style pizza for only $2.81. The crust is thin, cheese and sauce were good. It's divey inside, vary narrow and lots of boxes on the floor in the back room where I sat. The only major complaint that I have is that the mushrooms were raw, and rather than cook them with the pizza, they just cook cheese pizzas, then add your toppings afterwards and heat up the slice in the oven for a couple minutes. But the mushrooms were still raw, dry, and near room temp. If you are in downtown and looking for a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price, I would choose Rosa's. I did it, I went to Rosa's (after working around the corner from it for three years), thanks to Robert M.'s recommendation. And I have to agree with the Pizza Elitist, it does come pretty close to the stuff I get in NYC. My one wish is that the cheese had been a bit "tangier." This is the word I use to describe truly great pizza cheese. Sure, there are probably better ways to describe the flavor of real NYC pizza, but this is the word that makes the most sense to me. Be ready to yell your order when it's your turn in line, and by the time you reach the register, it's ready. Slices are precooked, topped when you order and fresh out of the oven so that they are hot and cheesy. Delicious! I recommend the two-slice-and-a-drink combo, my favorite being "1 mush, 1 spinach!" One of the best places to get an authentic NY slice. When I worked at Peachtree Center, I would walk down to Broad St. 2-3 days a week, bypassing other pizza spots to get some Rosa's. The staff was crazy cool and they gave really good service. The lunch rush is deep, but they get you outta there pretty fast. Their other dishes were okay, but I mostly came for the pizza. I've heard about this place for years but had never been due to their hours which serve the GSU and downtown worker crowd and no one else. They're open for lunch and are about done once the SUV's head back to their cul-de-sacs not to be heard of until the next day. You WILL stand in line. Space is very small and can get crowded fast. Last time I went, debit cards weren't accepted so I had to go to an ATM machine, what a pain. Parking can be a bitch. But I like it how it's very close to the Peachtree Center and Five Points MARTA stations. However, the food is what's most important and boy, every time I ate here, my mouth was smiling. Great NY-style pizza in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Had a slice with extra cheese and hot peppers - the hot peppers have a nice tangy taste that add a great flavor to the slice (must try if you love that little hint of spice on pizza). Fairly priced and generous slice sizes. The Perfect slice for the Perfect price! During the lunch rush, due to the surrounding class room and business there is a line, but it moves quickly. There is a high brick wall which the cooks call out "next!" as the eager line calls out they're orders. (It kind of reminds me of Seinfeld episode..'no soup for you!') There is no little to no decoration, and if you ask me, they don't need it. The tables and chairs are cheap and limited, but the back there is a stair case that leads to a cafeteria area for Rosa's the surrounding places. The staff is quick and friendly but not too chatty, as they are busy cooking your slice. I used to go quite frequently when I attended GSU. One of the guys behind the counter would always yell out " you again...aww you're trouble," with an accent that will bring you right back to New York. They have a wide variety of toppings that the pizza tossers pile on. The pizza is nice and thin, but the slice size is generous. Try a spinach slice with garlic, my favorite. Its too bad they aren't open later. I would definitely like to see the open to at least 7. The could get the business crowd's business as the go home. read more

Having a decent pizza place surrounded by embarrassingly crappy restaurants does not make something legendary. And that's exactly how a lot of people talk about Rosa's. It's like the false impression you get from seeing a decent band with really crappy openers. They even have a sign that essentially emblamatizes their pizza ethos: "pizza is like sex, when it's good it's good and when it's bad, it's still pretty good." The biggest downside is that I can only come here if I'm ever just walking around the downtown area, since even street parking is not readily available for the average visitor. Not a huge fan of Atlanta pizza in general but Rosa's is interesting to say the least. It's definitely better than Fellini's.

If you like NY pizza and you are in ATL, this is the place for you. You will experience long lines but they move quick. At lunch, you will experience a mix of high paid business professionals and college students. You have to yell out your order, and God forbid you don't know what you want, as the staff can be hard on you. Even though the lines and uncourteous staff can put some off, it really kind of gives it a rude NY charm. If that does bother you, you'll get over it because the prices are very affordable, and oh yeah, it is the best and truest tasting NY style pizza in Atlanta. Period! Wow. This is the best pizza I've had in Atlanta. I called in a slice of pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, broccoli, and ricotta. I'm hooked. I discovered this place when I was interning in grad school in the downtown. This is the only decent pizza you can get in Atlanta period. I don't know what that is with the ketchup on bread crap they serve elsewhere in the 20+ county metro . I tried to find the real deal and this is where you get it. This is good, cheap pizza - very reminiscent of the 99 cent slices you could get all over NYC, but despite the cheap price tag, they're the freshest slices ever!
