This is the BEST pizza in Atlanta! The line usually wraps down the back stairs during lunch time. This means it's good, but the line moves really quickly as long as the chumps in line know what they want to order. You have to yell out your order while you're a ways back in line and it will be ready when you get to the register. I just wish it were a little closer to my office. read more

Ok, so I confess...I've never actually eaten their food. Dairy allergy. And I don't mean in the "cheese gives me the runs" kind of way. It's more like "cheese makes my throat close in on itself". Sooo....how do I justify the 5 stars? Well, Rosa's came through for me last minute for a lunch meeting. They're fast, they're super friendly, they have the tiniest little restaurant and you are absolutely going to smell like greasy pizza all week long, but they work hard and efficiently to get the lunch rush taken care of. And it's cheap! What else could you ask for really. I just encourage everyone to check it out. This is pretty awesome pizza and they have awesome topic selections. The line gets long around lunch time but it moves pretty quickly. My only complaints are that the only places to sit are on the street, or inside next to all their boxed up supplies. If they cleaned up a little or found some storage space, the inside would be an awesome place to eat. Maybe they want a fast turnover rate though... Also I caught the owner saying some really nasty things to a bum once, which I understand isnt that big of a crime, since most can be a nuisance but it was just not necessary this time. The owner of any business represents the image of its business, so it turned me off a little. Pizza's still good though so at least this Italian knows his ingredients. read more

This is some pretty legit pizza. The crust is awesome, the sauce is good, the cheese is melty and yummy. The toppings I've tried so far have been good. You can get the (cheap) 2-slice lunch special but that is a LOT of pizza; these are your huge, New York-style slices, so after the first time I get just one and a side salad instead. If you're around here and want pizza, definitely come to Rosa's (just follow your nose; the wonderful garlic smell will lead you to it). read more

I took my cousin here yesterday during my lunch break at work. She is a student at GSU and this is the most recommended (if not only) pizza place close to campus. Essentially there was a line out the door which is always a good sign of a place that is good to eat. Pros: The pepperoni pizza was very good. The pizza was very cheap (you can buy it by the slice). The serving size is generous. 1 slice and soda will fill you up. The do have outside seating and seating inside. Cons: The pizza needs a lot more cheese and a lot more sauce. Also, I don't know how people were eating inside. There is no decor, the place is kind of ugly and the A/C isn't as strong as the pizza oven so it's really hot in there. There are only 2-3 tables outside to sit at outside. I wish there was more outside seating or at least better decor/better Air conditioning inside. A lot of students would just take their pizza to go, so I guess that's why the owners don't make the inside nicer. I would go back but it's not my favorite pizza place. When I think of amazing pizza I think of Blue Moon Pizza or mellow mushroom, but those places don't offer pizza by the slice either, so at least Rosa's can say it has the best value for making your dollars stretch. read more

Best pizza in Atlanta. Hands down it the pizza is the freshest and the most cost efficient pizza you can get. If you want a good pizza different go here. Also I noticed that the pizza taste a lot better if you order the whole pizza at once instead of ordering by the slice. Just doesnt seem like you get enough cheese on it by the slice. Excellent NY style pizza. Their extra cheese pizza is great. Be careful or you might choke on the cheese. The crust is not too thin, not to thick, but very tasty. Their sauce is spot on. We also had the pepperoni calzone and it was very good too. Don't expect a fine dining place this is more of your neighborhood pizzeria. Place could use some TLC. OVERALL GREAT FOOD. read more

In the spirit of the Rosa's experience, I think I will simply list the things you need to know about Rosa's. 1. First, bring cash. I don't know if they take cards, but I have never seen anyone use one. 2. This place is for lunch only. I wanna say they close at 5 or 6. 3. That line isn't as long as it looks. Even wrapped around all the way to the back of the store won't take but 15 minutes. 4. The pizza tastes MUCH better than it looks. Don't be unnerved by the Sbarro-esque pre-made pizzas languishing on the counter. You would never be able to guess that it's premade/reheated. 5. Figure out what you want *before* you get in line. For a newcomer, the best way to do this is to scan the menu on your way to the back of the store, deciding as you walk. If you hold up the line, the guy taking orders will repeatedly scream "NEXT!" at you until you spit something out. 6. When it comes to be your turn, shout your order out like you're proud of it! If you hesitate, you may be mocked. 7. They have awesome specials. 6 bucks for 2 1-topping slices and a drink. Beautiful. 8. Lastly, get that order "to go" as tables can be hard to come by. read more

Man, I love this place. I don't know if it's the convenience of it because I'm a GSU student or the pizza is superb or the staff is just so friendly but it's probably all of the above! I notice people are obsessed with finding NY Pizza in Atlanta. I don't know much about NY Pizza even though I'm from Philly and it's not far from NY, but I do know good pizza when I taste it and this is good. Ever since I've tried the spinach and garlic pizza, I have become obsessed. I've had other toppings but this is by far my favorite. You must try! And the prices are pretty hard to beat. I keep sticking to my plain jane routine of a slice of cheese but it is so good I have a hard time ordering anything else. The mini cannoli are a pretty killer addition to any lunch. I tried the chicken parmesan sandwich that someone else got and it was good enough that I might skip the slice of cheese some day. It was pretty big and had a ton of chicken, sauce, and cheese on it. I like this place because it is cheap, good, and at a great price, 2.35 a slice and you get 2 toppings I think. For lunch, thats a steal, especially since the slices are massive. It gets really packed in here during peak hours at GSU when students go for lunch at 11:30-1:30. There are seating in the building next door, reminds me of sitting in a food court. To was my first going to Rosa's, however, my co-worker go all the time! I must It was pretty good.. I out a slice with spinach, mushrooms, spicy sausage and extra cheese. Hands down the spinach was fresh and delicious very heavy on the garlic (which I loved)! Over all the food was good. However, the WAIT was long.. i have been here a few more times since my initial review and I really like this place although I am still getting used to "New York Style" pizza. Should've known better than to crave a slice at 4 pm, for the cold, unloved runt of the community pie awaited me. Still trying to be fair, the cheese mixture is heavily mozzarella and not so tangy. I just went in for a quick snack. I ordered mushroom pizza. They took what looked like already cooked pizza, threw some mushrooms on top and reheated it in the oven. It was pretty good, but the mushrooms didn't get a chance to cook long enough to get rid of all the raw mushroom flavor/texture. It holds up well against things like chain restaurant pizza, but I could easily name 5 places in DC off the top of my head that I would much rather eat pizza at. read more

If you are near the downtown area, especially by the Georgia State campus, then you would want to stop here for lunch for good pizza. It's as close to New York as you are going to get. There may be a bit of a wait as there is always a long line but the staff move through it quickly. They have good, cheap lunch deals for two slices and a drink. I tried the calzone, and it was decent, but I've had better. I noticed that they have the shell of the calzone already cooked, stuff it with the ingredients you order, and rebake it. Verrrrrrrry Good Pizza! It's quality New York style pizza for a price that's not going to break your pockets. Having lived in New York for some time, my expectations for NY style pizza was set mighty low. But this place restored hope. To be able to get 2 slices of pizza of that quality and a drink and cost $5.75, whether you are a college student or guy on a lunch break in the area, its a great deal! The only thing about it is it's hard to find if you are not on foot or familiar with Georgia State's Campus. In fact you could drive by and miss it. Broad Street has a lot of places to drop in and eat but when I saw Rosa's had calzones I knew that I had to go there. I haven't had a good calzone in years and this place didn't disappoint.
