I used to love this place . Ordered today for pick up the pizza was made wrong . Called and immediately he knew why. Plus the pizza was so soggy . He told me to come back for a plain cheese pizza , that too was soggy , undercooked . By the time my whole family got to eat it was all horrible and all the food was freezing cold. Rosati's Pizza 531 W. Liberty St. Wauconda Ill 60048. The food is great! The people that work there are nice. However, for the last past several months that I have ordered food on-line none of the offers, deals or special promotions that I get via email work so I end up having to call to place my order. Once I call, the girl/girls that take the orders never have any knowledge of the specials or promotions. I tell them about the promotion I received via email and they act dumbfounded and confused. They also are never aware of the deals that are directly posted on their website. I feel like I'm in a "Twilight Zone" episode while speaking to them trying to figure this out. It also seems like they cannot override anything or adjust any prices. Their answer is to pay regular price (because they are unaware of the promotion) then call back tomorrow morning to speak with the manager for a price adjustment or resolution. This is too much of a hassle to just get some food with the expectation of getting a special or promotion they are running on their website or with the emails they send you. The last three times we ordered from them not only did we NOT get the deal that they were offering, but on the last order we got the wrong order and were over charged. Eating here is hit or miss the service when you order usually is friendly however they often screw the order up for example I had ordered a meatball sandwich for my girlfriend she ended up getting a chicken Parmesan sandwich. They have good pizza, however, upon trying delivery recently, that was supposed to be "no contact", the delivery driver stood @ the door, no mask (even after opening door a bit stating it was supposed to be "no contact"). I've eaten at Rosatis for years and have always had middle-of-the-line, decent experiences there. Not great, not horrible. Until tonight. We ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich, baked mostaccoli, and ribs. The baked mostaccoli was delicious and is the only reason for the 2 starts instead of 1. The ribs were pretty bad. They were tough, like they hadn't been cooked long enough. The sandwich, though, was absolutely horrific. The chicken was noticeably charred and burnt to the point that I don't even know how an employee of Rosati's could have put that on a sandwich and decided to send that out to a customer for delivery. It was disgusting. Below is a picture of the chicken (bread and cheese not pictured since I picked the chicken off and ate just the bread and cheese since it was the only edible part of the item!). I've never had worse food delivered to me, and after spending over $40 on this meal, I've never felt so ripped off. I called the next day and spoke to the manager on duty and was literally told the situation was my fault. I had a snapshot of the payment and the charge that was made and did not want to do anything to make it right. 6 days later I still have a charge sitting on my card finally had to email corporate to notify this. We ordered two pizza's for dinner, and after an hour+, the guy finally arrived. It was a Wednesday, not a busy evening or weekend. He only brought one of the pizza's!! We are regulars there and we order there so often that staff knows me, they see me walk in and have my order ready for me. Food is awesome too, I have a picky eater and this is the only place he will eat pizza from. Order at this one because they use grub hub so it's convenient but not happy at all with the timing and delivery . Our order was 10 minutes late called they said they would call the driver said he will be there in 3 minutes right down the street OK... I told him I wasn't happy & wanted a credit of $16.99 off my next pie. D... said they couldn't do that and could only offer 25% off my next pie or they would make another one free of charge. THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH when they messed the order up in the first place! D... argued the point it is store policy set forth by the store owner, Raj. I mentioned to D... if he pulls up our history he can see we have not been recent regulars because of these mishaps, thus the reason why we have not frequented THIS PLACE in such a long time. After calling back because I was hung up on... I told him if he wasn't willing to help now, have Raj, store owner, call me so we can settle this. So I write this awaiting Raj's call. If he calls me back giving me the credit for THEIR MESS UP, I will post a follow up letting Yelp Community of this establishment's worthiness. Blah, blah, blah... A full hour passed & no call from Raj, store owner. I grabbed what was left of the pie & drove back to Rosatis. I presented the mishap in the box & politely asked for a full refund. The original guy who I spoke to had left for the evening & the manager left in charge was reiterating what the guy on the phoned argued. Further, I was told why should a refund be given when half the pie was eaten. YES, half the pie was eaten but it still doesn't explain why a Specialty pie is missing one of the three ingredients. Again, I thanked him for the free offer of the new pie but asked for a full refund. It was not until the cook from the back came out front and told the manager to give me a refund. The cook knew what happened & he wasn't going to debate. Thank you cooks at Rosatis! While the front end folks didn't score high marks in Customer Service... Leave it up to the cooks to save points for accomplishment. I will positively note the chicken wings we ordered with sauce on the side were Excellent! I changed my original one star to two since the cook from the back "manned" up. I am not willing to give another star to three, as the owner has not called me nor will I hold my breath. First of all, I grew up eating Rosati's pizza. It's the best around, IMHO. However, I did not want pizza tonight, and our options were limited. According to the Wauconda location's online menu, they offer hot dogs. Well heck- I think I want a hot dog. Nope. No hot dogs. We ordered pizza from this location for my sons birthday party. I called Saturday afternoon to put in an order for Sunday at 11 and was told it would be after 11 because they don't open until then. First let me say that I love Rosati's pizza, however this location is the worst!!! The last few times my family and I have gotten the wrong order delivered, or our food has been burnt! & let me say the young kids who work here are incredibly rude. This place is ran by teenage boys who could care less (I have yet to see an actual adult/or female working here) and the food quality is now terrible. The inside of this place is also very disgusting with flies everywhere. My family and I ordered food for the last time here the other day, as this is how our pizza came! I always gave the delivery guy a good tip, last couple times the pizza was bought an hour later, cold, and no coke, so I didnt tip and they told me they would never deliver to my address again. The fact that I always tipped extremely generously, and even over tipped at times, this time they bring me a cold pizza and an hour late with no coke, and they tell me they wont deliver to me anymore for not tipping. Decided to try the other location in Lake Zurich. Called and ordered for pick up. Was told it would be 20 minutes. No problem. Went to pick up and was told they did not have an order for me. They did make a pizza while I waited. They did not offer any compensation for my inconvenience. I finally got the pizza and was yet again disappointed. WARNING...DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. Customer service sucks! We ordered a pizza and a 2 liter of soda...they tell us they don't have certain toppings that we order on our pizza from another Rosati's Pizza location. Then they show up with no soda. They said they will go back and get it. They are 10 mins away.....over 2 hours later with multiple phone calls of us wondering where they are, they offer us a cake.....when the driver showed up with the soda 2.5 hours later they gave us 3 cannoli's.....didn't know that was considered cake. Also, when we were calling to see where this driver was...whoever answered the phone had an attitude and said they were busy. Then they said the driver was on the way; we called back-and then the person said they would send a driver now....ok are they on the way or they are leaving now because I called over an hour ago and 15 mins ago. No one knew what was going on. Sorry, don't care how busy you are when our order is missing and your literally 10 mins away. Long time Rosati's customer. Very disappointed in the service from the Wauconda,IL store. Ordered a Pizza tonite Monday October 10/07/2013. I was informed delivery orders would take 1 hour. Delivery arrived early and I had stepped next door with out my cell phone for an emergency. Upon returning I noticed missed calls on my cell phone so I called the store. The gentlemmen was rude and acted bothered with my call. After a few moments he said that they would try and get the pizza back out to me but gave no guarantee or even a time frame. I said look I understand the situation, but I am a very good customer and bypass 5 other pizzerias to order from Rosati's. He informed me that perhaps I should order a pizza one of those places and hung up. Very disappointing that in today's economic climate a customer would be treated that way. I have been on the fence for awhile anyway as it appears recently the franchise was taken over by new ownership. Perhaps there should be a message sent that this is not a college town, so unshaven, unruly,pothead, rude college kids are probably not a formula for success! Big time disappointed!
