Showed up and stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for 5+ minutes. No one came to seat me. I then sat myself at the counter. I ordered the Irish Benedict without the hollandaise sauce. They told me that the cook would not allow it. They said it is a waste of food. WAT???? They then suggested another item on the menu which was basically what I asked for. The food came out within 5 minutes. It was definitely cooked but it was clear than none of the food was made to order. That includes the hash, potatoes, and ham. The entire meal was luke warm at best. Let me rephrase, the meal was cold. All the items seemed like they were cooked earlier and then reheated. Cute and small diner in downtown Chelmsford. I believe this is the old Jack's Diner. My grandparents used to come here, and my Nana would take me here when I came to visit her. They have the best Sunday breakfast, generous portions of food, and wicked delicious. The blueberry pancakes are a MUST! The servers are also the most friendly people on Earth and they refill your coffee without asking, and come by to check on you every so often. Went here during COVID and it was super clean, inviting, ample parking out front, and the perfect Sunday breakfast to remind me of good times with my grandma when she used to take me here. Food was pretty okay.. however the service is not. Waited 10-15 minutes to place an order; 30+ minutes for food to arrive after that. The place was not busy with three servers on. We asked politely about the progress on the food and the response was short and unpleasant. The servers then continued to walked a few feet away and openly complain about guests, including us, all within ear shot. I heard EVERYTHING they said it was wildly unprofessional. Only eat here if you like oppression because the staff are experts at making you feel unwelcome. 2stars only because the kitchen prepared a decent plate for us. 2 years after the Incident I can finally express what happened. 2 years ago my girlfriend and I were going to surprise my friend who worked at Rosco's. I hadn't seen her in a very long time as I moved away from Chelmsford. Both my girlfriend and I have Medical Alert Service Dogs. When I walked in to get a table the owners daughter told me they don't allow service dogs. I told her it was illegal and she said she didn't care. I made a police report and filed a complaint with the DOJ and the town. Before contacting a lawyer I wanted to give the business one more chance as per the civil lawsuits you are supposed to try and resolve them on your own. So I printed out a packet on the ADA law about service dogs and highlighted what the owner should know and what they can and can't ask someone with a service dog. It also explains how to recognize a fake service animal as unfortunately that is a common thing nowadays. I brought the packet in on a non busy morning and waited for the owner. When the owner came out he immediately started screaming and swearing at me to "get the fuck out of his restaurant!" And "dogs are for the blind people's not the mental peoples." "This is a private business I can refuse anyone!" Which is correct but he is a private business that serves the public meaning he must follow the ADA guidelines and he can not refuse someone solely based on the fact they have a service animal. I then handed him the packet and told him that it had all the laws and knowledge inside about service dogs and as I turned around to leave he continued telling me to "get the fuck out, I don't care about your stupid dog, you fucking retard" as he ripped up the ADA packet I gave him and threw it at me as I walked out the door. I left the diner and needed to sit outside as my dog was alerting to an oncoming episode because of the stress. The amazing lady next door checked to see if I was ok and actually told me that he had refused multiple service dogs including 2 guide dogs "for the blind peoples", and a kid in a wheelchair because he "would be blocking the isle". They are also not ADA accessible via wheelchair ramp. I never did sue as it was a traumatic event for me but one day one of the 500 other service dog teams I work with in MA may go there and hopefully sue them for everything they own. The story isn't finished yet. A week later after posting on the Chelmsford news page about what had happened and having the owners daughter threatening me through messages my friend was fired for no reason. She later told me that the owner would often verbally harass the staff and one day the zipper on her pants broke so she put her apron in the front to cover it instead of on the side hip area like normal. When the owner noticed she told him why and he told her to "put it back on her hip because she would probably get more tips with her fly unzipped" I'm sad she lost a job but this man needs to be arrested. read more

We had some errands in the area. Grabbed coffee at the Mill and walking back to the car, spotted Rosco's. We decided it'd be nice to grab a quick breakfast. Sat at the counter and as we were approached with menus, told outside beverages weren't allowed. She said we could dispose of our drinks or come back when we finished them. We were so embarrassed we said sorry and thank you and we left. The diner was half empty and the cups had no identifying markings... plain white cup. I guess I'm just baffled that you'd give up new customers over a white paper cup. Not a good first impression. The food maybe great, but I'll never know. We won't be making a second visit. read more

Update: I will say in the times I've been in we've never required any special accommodations or attempted to sub anything from our meals. We've also never encountered the owner which many people in the review are complaining about. Love this place. I've taken so many out of town peeps here for breakfast and I've come with my two crazy kids. They're always so nice and the food has never disappointed. I always get the captain crunch French toast because it's amazing! Seriously you need it. Trust me!! I even got my brother in law hooked on it. I'll continue to be a customer as long as they keep that on the menu. My daughter loves the home fries. Seems like they get a lot of regulars which is cool. Means they treat their customers well. Usually I'm lucky enough to find street parking right in the front but I imagine on weekends it could be a little tricky. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE, DINER BE WARE! My husband and I and my 86 year old mother ate at this restaurant for lunch on Saturday. The food was good, not great. Portions are large . I ordered a reuben sandwhich which was good which came with soup. The soup was cold and I didnt eat it just the sandwhich. At the end of my meal I asked for a container for my soup to take home, and my mom did the same for her leftover lunch which she did not finish. My husband decided he wanted to take his coffee home as well and asked for a to go cup for his coffee. When my husband asked the ower for a cup for his coffee he became very belligerent and rude. Told my husband that the coffee cup cost 60 cents and that we should "come in and eat and get the hell out of his restaurant"! My husband and I were absolutely flabbergasted, actually think we stood there with our mouths open that someone would be so rude after we spend $50 in his restaurant. He continued to yell at us and my husband asked him if he was ok and he replied that he was going to kill my husband if we didnt leave, he then proceeded to chase us out the door cursing at us. Luckily my mom didnt fall on the way out. The man is an absolute nut job. After the incident we did call the Chelmsford police to issue a complaint , since he verbally assaulted us with he was going to kill someone. Please do not eat there and I urge anyone to please read the rest of the reviews before even contemplating going to this restaurant. They are rude, the restaurant is unkept, heat was at 64 degrees, we couldnt even take our coats off it was so cold! But after reading the owner's daughter's inflammatory comments on Facebook regarding discrimination of disabled individuals requiring service animals I will make it a point to not only avoid this place myself but encourage others to do the same. A 2 star for ONLY the rueben sandwich. The sauerkraut had an incredible amount of vinegar in it. My bread was also drenched in it. Every bite was as if I had dipped it in vinegar. Went here for the first time today. Cute little diner with friendly staff. Food was incredible. The omelette was so cheesy and the home fries were seasoned to perfection. I've been waiting a few months to post this review, because I needed that much time to cool down after such awkwardly rude treatment from the owner-chef. I visited this diner for lunch with my mom and stepdad, hoping to make a quick stop before driving back to NJ. Having lived in NY & NJ my whole life, I've eaten at dozens of diners, literally hundreds and hundreds of times, most of them Greek-owned suburban diners. This is a small suburban diner, but in a small setting with about ten tables or so. I ordered a gyro sandwich on a pita, but with the tzatziki sauce on the side, and no onions (I have reflux.) The waitress said they couldn't accommodate that (as well as a special request from my mom to have cheese on the side for her egg sandwich, due to dietary issues). I asked her to ask the chef. A few minutes later, she came back from the kitchen and said the chef wouldn't do those requests. We complained and said that this was highly irregular. I told my family we should leave, but they wanted to stay and just make do. However, what happened next was one of the most bizarre dining experiences I've ever had. The chef, a middle-aged apparently Greek man, emerged from the kitchen to give us a piece of his mind. He started with explaining how our requests were a departure from the "way it is done." We responded that we've made special requests at dozens of other diners without incident, but he didn't care. Then, he homed in on me and wouldn't let it go, and kept insisting on how I was wrong. He may have raised his voice; I don't remember exactly. Then, finally, my family relented and we left the restaurant, and happily ate lunch instead at the Brickhouse down the road. My stepdad was livid how the chef directed his relentless diatribe at me, a young woman. This owner has some weird issues, so I would avoid this place if I were you. Excellent service here & excellent food. This was our first visit here but I will most definitely be back! Coffee was fresh & delicious, always refilled & hot. I had one of their combination plates. It came with eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, home fries, and toast (I got dark rye...sooo good). We also got a Greek chicken wrap and fries. My gf and I tried to order pancakes, French toast, waffles, a breakfast sandwich, side of bacon and hash browns but the waitress insisted "that's too much food for the chef to make in one sitting" They said that they would only put half the order in and see how we do before delivering all the food. They then brought out half the food and told us they will check on us to determine if they will bring out the rest. The waitress came back to see if we wanted to rest of the order to go. I told her to please bring out everything we ordered. She made the decision that we have earned the rest of our food and brought it out. Service was so fast we didn't even get all of the time on our boosted poke stop. I got the hungry man. You had better be hungry. Home fries were well cooked and full of flavor. Great choice for their sausage, some places get the cheap ones. Tried some of my sisters pancakes, they were great too. Sometimes pancakes taste like nothing if they aren't covered in syrup but these were delicious all on their own. Fresh blueberries too. Fast friendly waitstaff. We were one of three tables as we came in after breakfast but before lunch. I would love to see if this place can keep up during a rush! Cute and small diner on the corner of Chelmsford center. We were looking for a new breakfast to try on a Saturday. Came in at around 11:30 and it wasn't busy but it wasn't dead either which is a good sign. Parking was a little bit of a challenge because they only have street parking. First experience was great! Self seating and staff were quick to get you started. Menu wasn't too challenging to narrow down what we wanted and there were still plenty of options. We split a kielbasa omelet and a traditional eggs benny. We also got an iced caramel coffee for the road. Would definitely come again! read more
