Made dinner reservations for the day after Christmas. Was seated in the Presidential suite (aka Teddy Roosevelt room). Where we sat, the air was blowing heavily and we requested to relocate to one of the other tables located in the same room. Millie (Emilia) our server was more than welcoming, understanding, and accommodated for us to move to another table. This is my second time eating here and Millie was truly amazing from beginning to end. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu options and provided us with some great recommendations. Ordered a bottle of Hess and was sadly informed they were out of it. She recommended Bonaza and it was quite good! Also we were pleasantly surprised by the summer supper menu. Not sure when or how long this menu option is offered for but it's a great value. Food took a little long to arrive but when it did we all enjoyed our dishes and either cleared our plate or took home left overs. Needless to say Rose Villa is a great comfort food spot. I came here for the fried chicken, so everything else for me was a bonus. We made reservations online which is so easy and efficient, once we arrived and handed the keys over to the valet (no self-parking on the property) our table was ready and we were seated in a upstairs dining room. This property is a renovated hotel from another era and is elegant, each room has a theme which is very well done and a classic, it's definitely a step back in time. Our server was so nice and attentive, unfortunately I missed her name but the check says Banquet1 so we'll go with that for the moment. Our reservation was for 12:15 PM and the restaurant was about half filled although it was apparent they were preparing for several larger parties on this Sunday afternoon. I do like that the menus are relatively simple but I only browsed it being I was set on my selection prior to making the reservation. I found the pricing to be very reasonable and once the food arrived the portions matched the prices. I started with a cup of the soup of the day which was andouille and kale, it had a rich tomato based broth with potatoes and beans, it was delicious with a complexity that was very tantalizingly. We both chose fried chicken with fries and coleslaw for our entrée, I loved the chicken it was lightly battered and cooked to the perfect temperature, the sides were just okay in my opinion and didn't compete with the fried chicken on any level I would of loved to have other options for the sides. Rose Villa is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The wait staff is very attentive (Sarah) our waitress was took care of us in a gracious way. My husband had the lamb chops and I had a delicious fish with risotto. I will differently be back soon. My husband paid the up charge for white meat and asked for coleslaw instead of mashed potatoes. They brought it out and it had dark meat and mashed potatoes on the plate. The server brought out a plate and said just scrape the potatoes off the plate into the other one. I requested them to bring out the correct dish he ordered. They brought out 2 pieces of white meat, a clean plate and coleslaw Slaw. This would be a great training moment on food allergies. Please don't tell someone to scrape off an item onto another plate. After that it he didn't enjoy our wedding anniversary meal. Never saw a manager. Parking is valet in the back. For a whiskey bar, I would think they would have a bourbon menu with prices. Our server showed up just at the right time to take our order. He made suggestions for both my meal and dessert, which I graciously accepted as I was having a difficult time choosing just one dish. I got the blackened salmon with Brussels sprout salad and the peanut butter chocolate cake. The salmon was grilled to perfection, breaking apart with minimal encouragement from my fork. The salad was served warm and the sauce was a tasty addition to both. I felt that the cake lacked peanut butter flavor and tasted sweeter than rich. Delicious brunch! I got the Brabant Potato Hash and Eggs with meat and it was delicious! One of the best hashes I have had. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffly on the inside and paired well with the bacon, Mornay sauce. My eggs were a little undercooked though with the egg whites not set. The service was quick and they made sure we got the sauces we requested and also boxed up our food at the end. Rose Villa has a cute interior, almost like an inn or bed and breakfast. I've seen this gem for years but never made it inside until today for Saturday brunch. The old house is gorgeous with outdoor seating under a porch or back patio as well as inside the house. The decor is such fun, gave off a kind of Haunted Mansion vibe. But I am happy to report that they don't rely on decor alone, the r food was delicious! We got their signature fried chicken which was crispy outside, juicy inside and not at all greasy. The biscuit tasted like they have an old southern granny patting these out in the kitchen. Best deviled egg I've had in a while. We then ordered the signature house fried chicken and the slater chicken. Again, both were awesome, as expected. Crispy, fried, moist chicken was full of crispy favor. Mashed potatoes were really tasty. The other chicken dish was super moist. The rice and gravy was plentiful. There was so much food that I had to help my wife with her fried chicken. I got the breezy. Yum. Super moist. This is a great place for a special occasion. The atmosphere is very intriguing, warm, and welcoming. The service staff also share the same qualities - friendly, polite, personable, and they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. We passed on the cocktails although we do love a good drink and focused on the foods, that was what really caught our attention when scoping out a nice place to eat. The options on the menu are affordable for the quality that is provided - the executive chefs labors are shown brightly behind all of the food and how it comes together. Taste, flavor, presentation all were on point. I could have definitely had a second helping of the collard greens. What a disappointment. Rose Villa Southern Table & Bar will never again get our business. After driving round and round to find where to park (they only offer valet parking in their lot.) we finally decided to park along a very busy Granada. We walked in and was greeted by several wait staff walking in and out and finally a very grumpy and rude older gentleman. He told us they stopped seating 5 minutes ago and we could only get drinks and hard boiled eggs. We told him our plight and it was my husbands birthday and we came there specifically for that. He said that's all they had and literally put his arm around my husband and escorted us out the door. Never again will we even attempt to eat there. A friend recommended Rose Villa while we were visiting the Daytona area. We arrived and the complimentary valet parked our car. We had a reservation, arrived 10 minutes early and they took us right to our table. The decor is older southern charm with vintage Daytona speedway added in, really cool. We ordered drinks, they came quick. For our apps we got the deviled eggs and the pork belly biscuits, both absolutely amazing!! The complimentary biscuits and butter are a wonderful touch and so tasty. I ordered the bourbon pork chop, it was thick, bone-in and probably one of the best I've ever had (and I've been at a lot of great restaurants in this country). My wife got the shrimp and grits, again amazing. We each got a glass of wine with dinner, they have a nice wine list. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed, but went upstairs to the bourbon bar. This is a small, quaint bar with an extensive bourbon offering. I got a smoked old fashioned and the wife got a smoked manhattan, they were great. We had a perfect experience here and it didn't break the bank. This is a chef owned restaurant and chef Sylvia made sure to come out to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, this is a nice touch. There were 4 other groups in the room with us, not real busy, our drinks came and shortly after our main course. We asked about the appetizer and were left with the main course. A few minutes into eating our appetizer showed up, after explaining we had already started eating the main course we were questioned if we wanted the app in a to go bag, we refused. We sat there and were passed multiple times with not a simply check in by the waitress on how the meal was, drink refills and watched as the others tables received biscuits and refills on their drinks while we were completely ignored, we finally had to grab the bus boy and asking for biscuits. My wife although keeping her composure was mortified and embarrassed due to just finishing chemo therapy for breast cancer wanted to leave, feeling she was making the staff uncomfortable due to her loss of hair being the reason they were ignoring us asked for the check and we left. Our Anniversary didn't go as planned needless to say. My wife spent the evening upset and embarrassed blaming her appearance for the poor service on our evening celebrating our wedding and her completion of chemo. Hubby had the shrimp Po Boy, and he enjoyed it. The property is lovely, and given the house, we thought we were dressed too casual actually, but it was all good. Maybe a bit dressier if going for brunch, but lunch mid-week, we fit right in. Prompt, friendly service seems to ooze out of every part of dining at Rosevilla. In my opinion, it has it all. They start off by bringing you 2 complimentary devilled eggs, (complimentary for first timers). We ordered a special of Butternut Squash soup and it was phenomenal! I think it had cumin in it. I ordered mashed potatoes and mac & Cheese as my sides and liked them both, but next time I would ask for a bit more gravy. All that said, hubby was not as enamored of his sea bass. "It was ok". I can't believe I'm just now getting around to writing a review. my family and I come to Ormond for vacation every year for a month. We eat here several times during our vacation. The food is really, really good. We love the belly and biscuits. We've had pretty much everything on the menu. Every thing is great. From the sea bass to the filet. You can't go wrong. The service is A1. Doesn't get any better from the host or hostess to the waiter or waitress everyone is very attentive. The ambience is great.
