Did not even know this place was here. Stopped in for lunch after doing some work at dentist next door. Very nice interior. Clean and well appointed. Divided into main dining room and bar dining area. Also has 2 banquet rooms. We both had fish and chips cause that is what we felt like for lunch. Menu is not too large to handle. I've been here several times and always have an excellent meal with outstanding service. The bread is unique and oh so good. I love that they have the paper table cloths. My wife and I came here on a weeknight for the first time. We heard many great things about this place, and it definitely did not disappoint! We began with the stuffed mushrooms which were incredible as our appetizer. I had the stuffed chicken with spinach/artichoke over angel hair pasta with parmesan cream sauce off of the specials menu, and it was amazing! We ordered cannoli's to go, and they were as authentic compared to the cannoli's my wife had in Italy as we could get. Will definitely be returning to this place to explore the menu! read more

Tried this place for the fist time. Noticed all the great reviews and I must say it was alright. We ordered the chicken alfredo with broccoli and the grandma's pizza. So the alfredo was good compared to a lot other places. But 20 for a plate was a bit much. The pizza on the other hand offered pepperoni, sausage, ham, green peppers, mushroom and black olives. For 20 bucks couldn't beat that! Then the next day reheated in the oven, it was even better!! They even give you bread! Portions are big, big enough to share! read more

Rose's is a family owned hidden gem in Canton. Delicious homemade style Italian food worlds above the commercial Italian franchises in Canton. The family that owns the restaurant is very involved and love meeting customers. We had our baby shower here and everything went perfectly. I'm always a little sad we don't go to Rose's more often. It really is a lovely, old fashioned place. I'll tell you a little secret, my favorite movie is "Return to Me" an often overlooked 2000 romantic comedy masterpiece. The movie takes place in an Irish-Italian Chicago restaurant ran by the immortal Carroll O'Connor. Rose's reminds me often of it. The food is a wonderful combination of the two. I most recently got the stuffed cabbage which was delicious and reminded me of my grandmother's. The bread is a universe hit. The soup seems like a throw away, passable but forgettable. Two things, one I hate the paper table cloths, Rose's is understated but elegant. Real table cloths should be a given. Two, my Tiramisu was a soggy mess. Not to my taste at all. Ordered carryout for the place I work at, picked order up with bag tied not bothering to look in bag , when I got back to work one of my soups lid had fallen off and carry out container that held one of my meals wasn't closed properly finding some of my pasta in the bag...NO plasticware either.. $12 for pasta and soup....NEVER AGAIN! read more

We have come to Rose's for many years. We love this restaurant and the atmosphere. I like that it's family owned and operated. The owners are usually in the restaurant on most evenings or weekends. They have two banquet rooms for larger functions. The main dining room is large, but still cozy. There is also a bar area for a more casual drink or meal. The food is consistently excellent. We love their pasta. They have really good veal Parmesan as well. The portions are large and a great value for the cost. Service isn't always fast or attentive, but the great food is consistent, that we come back often! Tonight we had a great server. Kaitlyn was very helpful and took care of everything we needed. I gave this restaurant a second chance and I wished I hadn't. I ordered the chicken Milano with baked potato and mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was not hot and had flour lumps. The bread came after the soup. The main was incorrect and was corrected but the side was corn on the cob. It was just boiled. No way to eat it and raw. I had a business lunch at Rose's today, which means I didn't get to eat what I really wanted. But I think I looked a little prudent by having the salad... the Caesar! Haha! Cuz if you read my reviews you'll see that I'm a sucker for a Caesar. This one was very good! Different - - with whole grain mustard?? But verr-rry tasty. My colleague (a retired Ford executive) asked if it met the standard. I said I thought it exceeded the standard. And he remarked "then it"s like the Ford Motor Company." Love it! I also had the stracchiatella (which I may have just misspelled), which was very tasty, albeit a bit salty, but sometimes I don't mind an extra dose of salt. It made Mom happy, and it was her birthday. Ok food, ok service. I love that you get sharpened crayons, and that they are crayola, to draw upon the table. It's best if you get a glimpse of Rose, who is folding napkins in the back booth, and rolling....well, silverware. One look from her, and you know that she and her family could take you in a dark alley. Kudos to the cajun steak that they throw on the house salad, which, if eaten with their house dressing, is really good. I'd just like a little less bitter iceberg in my salad, and a little more green. Mondays are kids eat free night, and so although I am not a kid, I quite enjoyed that feature, as did all of the parents who took their little ones. I hosted my company's Christmas party at Roses last night. The evening was absolutely perfect! The owner was very organized in setting our date and planning the menu. The evening went flawlessly with a group of 40 being staffed properly with attentive servers. The food, prime rib, salmon, chicken Parmesan and lasagna all were delicious and timing on service for a group of 40 was flawless. They do have two rooms our room being the larger of the two. I have never had pasta that was both too sweet and too salty before i went to this place. I have also never had "Italian" sauce with celery. This place was ridiculous. I will never go back and am writing this review to save you from the regret that my family experienced. The night started with a quick call about a large party coming in. They do handle this and were ready for us to arrive. The man who seats us does give us warning that our party would be split amongst 2 tables and 2 waitresses which I saw as a wise move. "I'm not giving out free food," he says about orders not being right/cold or whatever happens when there are large parties. I get that. I had been here several times, but not in years before tonight. I do remember my previous experiences were much better than this so here goes: First, the waitstaff was confused and over-burdened, tried to pass off that the restaurant, which was quiet and sparsely full when we arrived was actually very busy. Several orders were confused, namely for their substitutions, which actually were taken care of in one form or fashion. Turns out that Brittany (waitress) grabbed the wrong plate What I did find confusing in this instance was since the party was broken up amongst two tables, there was a significant time difference between when half of the party arrived (served by Brittany) and when the second half arrived. The table that came later and was served later managed to have their orders completed much sooner than the table served by Brittany. Not sure how that worked, maybe they ordered immediately considering their later arrival, I'm not sure. What seriously ended the night for us was a sad confusion. For starters, I am a vegetarian and have been for 20 years. My reasons for being so are not important, nor is whether I'm totally committed to it in question in this context (my point is here, any response that what I was ordering wasn't vegetarian/vegan-friendly anyway do not apply here). Upon ordering their entrees, you get a vegetable, pasta, and soup; substituting a salad is $1 extra. I order the eggplant parmesan, ask for primavera vegetables instead of corn, and (this is why I point out the $1 upcharge for something that essentially costs less) since I can't have the soup, a salad. The issue that I do not eat meat was brought up 3 times upon ordering. I understand that's not the waitress' problem, but it was stated more than once and in multiple ways. When two other dishes were confused, I ask if my plate was, in fact, the eggplant I had ordered, I was assured they were. Essentially these things looked like they would be served at a Coney Island judging from the grease, over-reliance on cheese globbed on and dependence on deep-frying; there was no way to judge if they were anything that I ordered by sight alone. So, trusting that Brittney knew what she had presented me (my mistake there), I dig into it. It's dry, it's tough, it really tastes bland. A few bites in, I'm still trying to figure out why this is wrong thinking there was no reason to doubt I had anything else..... how would they confuse eggplant? Turns out that's exactly what they did as I cut into another piece, and see that they had given me veal. Upon pointing this out, Brittany responded as if she was defeated. This was a serious blow. She did take the plate and ask if there was anything I wanted to replace it. At that point, it was too late, and I said I didn't want anything else. She did come back and say that she felt bad and took my order off the bill, and asked if I wanted anything else as a consolation, like a dessert. I said no as I was basically trying to contain my rage and the stability of my stomach from either dealing with trying to digest red meat for the first time in many many years and balance the reality that it's all possibly psychosomatic. Essentially, this is below what the restaurant should have done for this but was probably all that Brittany could do without bringing her manager into the situation. There was never a manager involved, which I ultimately wanted to do, but really was trying not to lose control over myself for this. At this point, I just wanted to leave. So, for the guy who seated us who didn't want to just give away free food, just be rest assured that the plate of veal parmesan that I did not pay for was not fully consumed by me. Maybe you have a dog you can feed it to. I had never had veal before tonight, and if the over-cooked, over fried, dry slab of indistinguishable breaded blandness with cheese was a true indication of what veal is, I never want to have it again. read more

The food here is just as good as I can cook at home, the price is reasonable, the staff are great, and I like to eat here for lunch because it's not as busy at that time of day. The only thing that bothered me was that I had to make a special request to not have my soft serve ice cream served in a Styrofoam container. I don't like to use containers that head straight to the trash when I am done with them. So, at my request, and the managers approval, I got my soft serve ice cream in a glass dish... with a plastic spoon... If they start a revolution to save the earth by not using disposable dishes for dine in ice cream, I will eat there more often! read more

I've been in to Rose's a few times and have never had a bad experience. They seem to be pretty consistent. I usually get their rosemary chicken dish. It has a delicious creamy Dijon sauce on it and I find myself dipping their house bread into it every time! I will say that a lot of the dishes are heavy on sauces. It's not really a place you'd go to if you're watching your calories! That's ok though, it worth the indulgence. Their servers are always friendly but some are a bit inexperienced. Once we ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress didn't know how to use the corkscrew so she called another person over and he too struggled with it. My boyfriend ended up doing it himself. Not a big deal really, we just found it odd that they weren't trained on this properly considering they have a wine list. Also on the topics of wine, I love to have a glass of Moscato or Riesling with my meals but unfortunately they don't have either of them. Our waitress did recommend another wine similar to those. I can't remember the name but it was pretty good for a sweeter wine. My dish came with a choice of potato and I subbed the soup for a dinner salad. I always order the chefs special potato. It's a dollar or two extra but it's so yummy! Again, not very healthy. The dinner salad was mediocre. Our waitress suggested their Gorgonzola dressing which I liked but I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce salads. Makes me feel like I'm at a cheap diner. My son ordered the kids spaghetti dinner. He enjoyed it but it doesn't come with any side. Would've been nice for for him to have some veggies with it like steamed broccoli or a medley. My boyfriend ordered the escargot and the lasagna. The escargot came on a bed of (again) iceberg lettuce that was a little brown. It was not aesthetically pleasing whatsoever but he said that it tasted great! He was happy with his meal overall. Rose's does a nice job of balancing the place as both a family restaurant and a charming date spot. I think a few minor tweaks could boost business but all in all it's pretty good. had dinner there the other night, Ashley was our server, she was great! however after having dinner we wanted desert we ordered the keylime pie it came to our table frozen , the coffee was fantastic I would suggest they thaw out a few deserts before serving them, I have been coming fo roses since it opened and have always had very good meals , but this night some things were not without some bumps.. im sure we could have waited for another piece of pie so we just ate what was served...but wish I had mentioned the desert was frozen and for 5.00 each I was disappointed. read more

I've been a regular customer for 20 years (when it first opened). The food is consistently good. There are daily specials that venture beyond Italian. I most often order one of these. There are pasta dishes with marinara, creme sauce and olive oil/butter sauce. The marinara based dishes are heavy on the baked cheese--warning if you are watching your calories or fat intake. The soups are outstanding. Salad choices are limited to house, Caesar and anti-pasta--not exceptional. Fish and chicken are tasty. The steaks and prime rib are fair. This used to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants but I changed my mind yesterday. I met my mother in law there for lunch . I suspected something had changed because there were only three other tables in the restaurant at 12! I asked for bread and it came out and looked more like a breadstick! I ordered the peppered chicken alfredo and when it came out, it was way different than the last time I got it. The sauce was bland and the chicken was dry. I think Rose's has gone to packaged foods instead of homemade these days. I got home and within a few hours, I felt like vomiting but never did. I did get diarrhea though. My mother in law called me and asked if I "got sick too" and I told her my symptoms. She said she had bad diarrhea as soon as she got home. My husband and I went last night for dinner. We won't be returning, and the saving grace from one star to two was the free soft serve ice cream at the end of the meal. This was a Tuesday night, not sure if this is a thing. The parking lot was full, the restaurant was empty. I'm pretty sure the staff parks where the customers do. If was raining, so my husband dropped me off at the door because of the parking situation. I had perused the menu prior to sitting, and had decided on Chicken Parm and instead of a soup I'd never heard of, got the house salad (added $1) with the house dressing. My husband got a Delmonico steak with rice (he wanted mashed potatoes but the server didn't give him the option), and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad did not have Caesar dressing. It was made with house dressing. Disappointing. And an extra $2. The tomato sauce on my chicken Parm was bitter. I ate very little. The house salad was a pile of iceberg lettuce, grape tomatoes (2), cucumber slices (2), and two giant chunks of raw mushrooms. The house dressing was average. The free bread was warm, but not for long. It came in a bag, which seems like a waste of money. My husband's steak was decent. The side veggies (carrots, green beans and wax beans) was decent. Even though the steak was decent, my husband agrees we won't be returning. Next time I want Italian, I'll spend a little more at Antonio's. The free ice cream added one star to this review. read more
