For remote workers: 5/5 I happened in here one time and it quickly became a favorite spot!!! Ambiance/seating: The ambience is very cute and cozy café. There's a lot of people working or just hanging out having a coffee/lunch. There's a ton of seating and a few bar countertops that you can use to work without taking up a whole table. There's also some cozy benches and chair seats that seemed very comfortable! Coffee: I just got a simple hot latte both times and it was pretty good. When I got it to stay, they did a cute bear latte art! Food: I only tried the pastries but they were high quality delicacies! Note they are on the pricier side because of the quality. They've got sandwiches and more heartier options too. Would assume their breads are good too but didn't try. Wifi: I didn't do any zoom calls but the free Wi-Fi is good and reliable! heads up- It cuts out after 30 minutes. Came across this bakery on the coldest day of the year in search of coffee. What I found was great pizza and a plethora of baked goods. Coffee was very good and the pizza was enormous. I wanted to buy the baked goods which appeared fresh, but I was headed across the street to the ballet and would not be able to bring them in. At 7:30 I was told that I need to wait for the store to open even if the door was wide open and the time to open is 7:30. People on their way to work cannot wait. So I love Rosetta's the pastries are amazing and the coffee is really good. Love the location. Service is always meh. Sometimes the ppl are cool and sometimes they're not having it. It gets really crowded with folks and there's not a ton of seating for how big it seems. Today was a pain though. I ordered a decaf cap with oat milk to go and I got regular cap. I confirmed what I wanted and he wanted to go back and forth with me on it. Then he remade it...cool took forever like so long and then it wasn't decaf and was in a sit down cup. Which is beautiful and nice but not what I wanted I needed to go. So at that point I was annoyed to even ask him to put it in a to go cup I had to ask my husband to do it and he just dumped it in the cup. Nestled in the garment district, I was fortunate to stop by venue for lunch. The place looked modern and filled with good vibes. The menu is clearly visible. Everything you see is baked in-house. Ample sitting and the huge windows allow you to see outside. Service was great. The sandwiches and pastries selection were amazing. Beautiful bakery and gorgeously presented pastries, sandwiches, and pizzas. My pesto sandwich was delicious, and the pesto-infused bread was soft (although not as tasting as pesto as I thought). The treccia was good; my favorite was the custard filling, but I thought the bread was a little dry, and I didn't need the chocolate shavings on top. It was also a bit pricier than I thought. It's a big open area but kind of inefficient with the seating. We had trouble grabbing seats for our group of 5 but that may have been exacerbated by the half marathon finishing in Central Park (which we also came from). We had to be lightning fast to grab tables as they emptied, and we only managed to grab five seats at the bar even though sometimes four-person tables would just have 1-2 people. It was also kinda stressful ordering, because the line to pay is right in front of the food display so the area gets kinda crowded. It's really hard to tell what is what. While waiting for the show at the MET, we decided to drop by the Rosetta Bakery and try their cakes, pastries and Pizza Margherita. Being a pizza person, I really enjoy comparing pizzas from different locales and countries. Unfortunately, their pizza Margherita here was thick, stale and very chewy. I was disappointed by its lack of taste, texture and cheese in itself. The pizza was cut in small squares and about an inch thick, the dough seems incomparably far from those in Eataly or Cipriani? While it boats itself an an Italian icon, it lacks the quality and palatable standard that Italian pizza do, articulate. The pasties seemed similar, no finesse and lacked the sophistication of an Italian dish/es. I felt, their pastries are like ordinary street food without the soul of authentic Italian food. Location was near the city center which was perfect, price for New York food was about standard but the tastes seemed missing from all their cakes, pastries and pizzas. read more

After church, we ventured here for a light brunch. The bakery is so light and airy. This Italian bakery gave me bohemian vibes with nice seating options inside and outside with solid customer service. Since I have a sweet tooth, many pastries were tempting, but I had to balance it out. We shared the margarita pizza, the Lingua, glazed buttery pastry, and the Girella, nutella filled, and vanilla cream. The Lingua was nice that we decided to go back for another one. The service is very friendly and accommodating, the pizza slices we got were delicious, for me anyway, very flavorful and fresh toppings. This was a good mid day bite. The tea selection was also very diverse with lots of choices, and we landed a table where we could put our things and relax. So the quality of ingredients was there but not the execution. Service was sloppy, literally slapping food around carelessly. Made it unappetizing. The staff were nice enough though. Not very flavorful, but Simple and fresh. A line formed ahead of me at the cashier after they plated my pizza slice, so the pizza got cold by the time I sat down to eat it, which was disappointing. Had a great visit here! Spontaneously we wanted something sweet and Rosetta delivered. I got a crème/custard filled croissant for $5. It was tasty. A little taste of citrus/orange in it as well. Eric, the nicest cash register worker, got my croissant and then recommended some stuff I try. Like the raspberry chocolate bite and another sweet. And he threw those in! Super kind of him. Much has been written about various NYC restaurants (frequently of the sceney and extravagant variety, like Carbone or Dirty French) that have opened outposts in Miami, but here we have a rare example of the opposite expansion: a South Beach-based bakery chain that has brought its pricey pastries and pizzas to the Upper West Side. I'm not sure exactly what prompted the owners to branch out northward, but this location -- on Broadway, directly across from Lincoln Center -- makes very good business sense, given that passersby are often members of high society who are heading to/from the ballet, opera, philharmonic, arthouse cinema or performing arts theater across the street. The interior at Rosetta is clean, stylish and contemporary in a subdued, tasteful way. It's also enormous, at least by bakery standards, and yet, it almost always manages to be very crowded. Imo, these crowds are not so much a reflection of Rosetta's quality or value as its proximity and convenience for patrons of the aforementioned arts venues. That's not to say Rosetta is foisting mediocrity on starving admirers of Beethoven and Baryshnikov, but its lines should not be mistaken for the queues you might find at some truly top-notch patisserie or pizzeria. I've been here many times and have never had a single item that I would describe as bad. But I've also never had a single item that makes me eager to return (most often, I've eaten Rosetta's fare because my thoughtful wife was shopping nearby and grabbed a to-go box of sweets as a surprise for me) . Similar to what Jane D. astutely noted in her review a while back, Rosetta is basically an Italian version of Maison Kayser (RIP in USA). It has countless cream puffs, tarts, pizzas, sandwiches and breads that are aesthetically impressive, devoid of glaring flavor flaws, but ultimately, difficult to distinguish from versions of the same items at, say, a higher-end grocery store. Speaking of high-end, that's what knocks Rosetta down to three stars. I'm sure the rent here is astronomical, but that's no excuse for $6 lattes and ordinary snacks pushing $10, especially when you consider the unmemorable food and the economies of scale from the voluminous foot traffic. High prices are subjective, of course, and maybe I'd feel differently if I were a member of deep-pocketed high society -- or if I were splurging while on vacation in Miami Beach. read more

I honestly wanted to love Rosetta from the very first time. Now they do have matcha latte yoohooo! But that's not matcha. From the pale green color you can tell is no good matcha then I tried it and my teeth almost fell off from the sweetness. It's an insult to matcha lovers! I went to the counter to ask for an unsweetened version and the guy almost had a tantrum. Hey! You give me the wrong version and don't want me to complain? Never ever sell sweet matcha, that's NOT matcha. And keep your moods to yourself. Someone nicer came to reimburse me because everything they sell has sugar added and can't serve non sugary warm drinks. Go figure! The only good thing they have are the mini fruit tarts that are really great and worth the effort. The rest... you can take back to Italy if they're the real thing, which is iffy. We needed a quick place to eat on our walk to a theater and popped in. Ambiance: It is a bright, clean location. You walk in, and you order cafeteria style with the employees on the left. The food is displayed in cases, but there is also a menu above. There were a lot of people eating at tables, but there wasn't anyone ordering anything when we arrived. Service: It wasn't bad but wasn't great. It was good. There wasn't a "welcome" or "how can I help you?" when we walked in, but it was easy to get their attention to order. Food: We got two slices of pizza and a latte. I don't remember the price exactly, but it wasn't completely terrible for what we ordered.
