This little gem of a bakery, founded by Jim Lahey (yes, the genius behind the famous No-Knead Bread method), has quickly become my weekend ritual spot. My go-to order? The Americano and a donut -- fluffy with just a hint of lemon, sweet enough to satisfy but never over the top. Pure perfection with coffee. Today I branched out and added the fruit danish, topped with thinly sliced plum. The laminated dough was everything you want it to be: crisp and golden on the outside, tender and airy inside. The tart plum against the buttery pastry made such a perfect sweet-tart balance I was already plotting my next visit halfway through. And speaking of next time... I'm saving room (and bringing a bigger stomach) for their Roman-style pizza. If it's anything like the rest of the menu, I'm in for a treat.

Local bakery with great bread and sweet and savory pastries. Selection isn't too big, but the taste and vibes inside are great! Cute cafe to work inside of, and the bakery items are great. Only thing is I wouldn't recommend getting matcha from here.

This place is so so good and the staff is super friendly! The bread is just heavenly and the prepared foods offer super fresh ingredients and creative combos. The dining area is very welcoming, clean and spacious. Everyone just seems happy here.

Greets bakery. Nice ambiance and service. The cauliflower pizza was yummy. The texture was good and I liked flavors. The pistachio roll was really good as well but overpriced.

First time back in quite a few years. Better selection in a bigger shop now. Staff was friendly. Better seating than before.

We visited this Hell's Kitchen standout on W. 47th Street on New Year's Day and the quality of their Italian breads and pastries did not disappoint! We had a latte, the Arancini which was a fried Italian risotto and mozzarella ball, and slices of the the Funghi and Pomodoro Pizzas. Their craft bread, freshly prepared is a true standout! Service was welcoming and quick on the first day of 2025. The cafe had some cozy tables inside and just a few spots outside so it is definitely more of a casual takeout counter but definitely worth the trip on a brisk holiday morning!

Great Italian bakery offering a variety of pastries, sandwiches, pizzas, and drinks. Uovo Brioche - This was my favorite item that I got, as the brioche was so fluffy and even had a bit of a lemon flavor for a slight unique sweetness. There was also pancetta inside and egg, which was cooked in a very unique and delicious way where the egg was sort of scrambled but also very soft. Just a delicious breakfast sandwich. Egg and Avocado - This sandwich came on a long roll with (you guessed it) egg and avocado inside. This was also good and they added some chili flakes for a bit of a kick La Mortadella - This ham, arugula, and mozzarella sandwich was more of an Italian classic and solid quality, although the bread was a tad on the tougher side Jam Bomboloni - A classic Italian dessert, how could it not be tasty? The bread was super fluffy with some tasty and sweet fruit jam in the middle All 4 of these items came out to around $35, so it was sort of what you would expect from a quality Italian bakery like this. The place itself is decently sized with an environment that mixes some traditional bakery vibes with a sort of rustic feel, with the exposed pipes along the ceiling. There is a decent amount of seating and it wasn't particularly busy when I went on a weekend for brunch. The staff are average friendliness. Overall, I would definitely recommend Sullivan Street Bakery if you are looking for some quality pastries / sandwiches in more of a bakery setting vs. a traditional sit-down brunch restaurant.

The orange has a base made of chocolate Rice Krispies. All of them have more fruity filling than the mousse. They are very fragile. I recommend eating there if you can. Finding can be a challenge because it's busy and there aren't many seats. I got mine to go just to be taken to the park across the street . The mushroom kind are totally ruined. It has strawberriy jelly and it was a mess. The orange one was almost ruined too. The mango has some diced mangoes. I devoured three of them instantly. Definitely come back to try more.

There was no place to sit down because of how busy it was but the staff kept the line moving quick enough. The place still seemed reasonably stocked with their desserts and treats, despite the late afternoon time that I arrived. I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud.

This used to be my favorite Italian bakery. I haven't been to this bakery in years like ten years…read moresince I was a teenager. Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.

I had never heard of the place before, but I was happy to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels special. The store has two beautiful double doors that create such a grand entrance, and once inside, you immediately feel the energy. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!
