This was my first time eating at Rosetta, and I absolutely loved the food and the ambiance. The sandwiches were amazing. However, I felt disgusted by the food handling practices I witnessed. I saw an employee pick up our sandwich while wearing gloves, then use those same gloves to clean the glass display and later handle cash money without changing them. During the 40 minutes I spent there, I noticed multiple employees doing the same thing. It's really disappointing because I truly enjoyed the food, but hygiene is extremely important. Came on a Friday night with a friend and Rosetta's is packed! There is a lot of space for seating but since its so busy it may be hard to find a vacant spot for seating. There were many selections of sweets and sandwiches but we opted for the pizza. My friend got the margherita pizza while I got the spicy salami (not that spicy). These are thick rectangular slices of pizza AND it is very filling so it's pretty much worth its price imo. I love how the staff asked me which part of the pie I preferred - corner or middle. I ordered an iced coffee, not a cold brew. The menu showed brewed coffee around $4.20, and even with the $1 ice charge plus tax, the total should have been much lower than $7.29. I have taken a long time and multiple visits prior to writing this review and I can fairly say that I am very disappointed with the level of service here. The staff has been incredibly rude on multiple occasions. In Italy and America, I have never received this type of service in a bakery. The staff has been unprofessional. The layout of this bakery with the seating seems like it could be a safety hazard. It makes it nearly impossible to walk through to exit due to the amount of chairs and tables in such a small space. This afternoon, I waited on line for 5 minutes and asked the gentleman behind the counter if I would pay for my coffee first prior to going to the cafe barista station. I was told no. When I went over to the barista station to order, the barista, she was very rude and told me that I needed to order at the other counter. She snapped and said it with an attitude. I had to wait for another ten minutes in line again. When I asked what the protocol was when I was being assisted, it was still not clear. If you are not ordering any baked goods, you have to wait for everyone to order their baked goods just to order a beverage. It does not seem efficient since they offer the two counters. I do not mind paying for exceptional, high end items used with quality ingredients. With that said, the prices here are astronomical if you want to pick up pastries for yourself and others. For the prices being charged, you would expect a kind person behind the counter to assist. Kind meaning, a thank you for visiting or someone that is eager to explain what the items are when you ask. When it's time to pay, the kiosk is very low down and everyone can see your information. I find this to be very intrusive and a security risk. Staff expects a tip when they don't go an extra inch to help. I wrote to customer service within the past year and they never replied. read more

I love this bakery!! I had a prosciutto sandwich on a baguette with Bree cheese and arugula. It was soooo good and all of the flavors went well together. Tasted just like the sandwiches I had in Italy. The fruit tarte was so good that I ate the whole thing. I don't like my desserts to be too sweet and this was perfect and so fresh. Tiramisu: 7/10. The cake part had the same problem as the chocolate cake. Too spongey. But the filling was tasty. Apple tart: 10/10. I was the 2nd waiting in line after someone before me, when it was my turn, he literally ignored me and offer to serve the next person right behind me like I'm invisible for him. It is one of the best bakeries in New York. I was waiting for a while for this spot to open, but they are expanding and will soon be on 42nd Street too. There are many different things to choose from once you enter the bakery. Many of these are items with bread, such as a variety of focaccia, pastries, baked goods, and sandwiches. All looked good to eat, so I wanted everything but instead opted for the pepperoni focaccia. It was tasty, and the ends with the Crispy crust were extra good. Love this bakery! My first time to visit last weekend and we held a mini bridal shower for our friend and the staff were so nice and sweet! They gave us an extra table and chairs to use. The place was bright and it was nice to hang out. The ceiling is high so it's not that loud even if the place is full of people.
