Recently moved to Canton and am happy that there are so many good restaurants, bars, and coffee shops in town. My wife and I tried Rosetta's after having a craving for Italian food and it did not disappoint. The food was great, I had the chicken parmigiana with homemade pasta and it was delicious - the sauce was great, the pasta was nice and al dente, the chicken was lightly fried, and the portion was huge. The wine selection was decent with some good inexpensive choices, and the bread and olive oil that they serve as a starter was sooo good. Ordered takeout from here and the food was good, particularly the bolognese. I didn't try the chicken piccata (don't like capers) but was also told it was good. The calamari was lightly fried, which I liked, and the marinara sauce it came with was tasty. Maybe next time we will try dining in. Side note, when we called in, the guy hung up on us? After we called back and stated that we thought we dropped the call, he remarked "your friends are loud" because we were trying to get the order sorted out while on the phone. Great atmosphere and staff. The management/owner are very friendly. They check on every table frequently making you feel like family and not waiting until you need service. Way better than a typical Italian chain restaurant. Food is perfect temperature and taste. The cannoli dessert is delicious. Located in Canton with street parking. You walk into a bar area with TV and a few tables. The dinning area is located in the back. The place is a bit dated but very clean and bright. The air felt stuffy in the bar area with a strange odor. We sat in the dinning room and had great service and wonderful tasty food. Nice size portions. Fresh homemade ingredients. None of the dishes were over powered with garlic. Fresh grated cheese was offered table side. The bread and dipping oil was very flavorful. We had excellent service. The food was good and the servers were doing the best they could having a full restaurant with only a bartender and a waitress. The owner was appalling in his attitude toward the staff. He was gruff and rude - just downright unprofessional. I like this place! (And I'm not sure I want to let other people know about it, because it's small.) It had a small bar area with some 2 person tables and was mostly dark wood. And then separated by the hostess station is the dining area with white table cloths. We (2) had wine, appetizer, 2 entrees, coffees and desserts for less $$ than I expected. We had tomato, mozzarella and asparagus on a salad dressed with balsamic glaze and oil. That alone would have been good enough for us. The asparagus was grilled. Then we had veal Sorrentina and chicken piccata. They came with crisp cooked veggies, Parmesan risotto and garlic mashed potatoes. All very good. The veal and chicken were properly cooked not rubbery. The chicken had great taste of lemon and caper. The risotto was just the right texture (not mushy, al dente) and light flavor. Then we had housemade tiramisu and cookie sundae. Desserts came with decadent whipped cream (they used heavy cream!). The servers were quick & attentive. The food came relatively quickly. Named after the mother PD the proprietor and everything here is made with the pride of someone who realizes that the food represents his mother. Our server, Judy was attentive and terrific. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. My wife had the shrimp ravioli, and one of our guests had the scallops casserole. We finished eighth tiramisu, likewise perfect. Wish I could give 4 or more stars for the food but the front of the house brings this place down down down. Made reservations and arrived on time. Waited 10 or so minutes for our table, no big deal. While waiting, another woman who had put in her name inquired to the owner/host about the status of her wait. "If you hit the button for an elevator, does it arrive any faster? No it doesn't. Same thing here!" Whaaaa? Really?!? We were seated and waited about eight minutes for menus to be brought over. Waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to return to order. "What do you want?" Ummm, hello to you, too. She said she'd bring over bread. 15 minutes later, when she returned with our drinks she noted out loud, "Oh, I gotta get the bread!" 20 minutes after ordering, our delicious paparadelle bolognese arrived, but no bread. Other tables were grumbling about piss poor service as well. I think our server was either really young and untrained ...or just truly awful. All servers avoided eye contact with patrons. Very pleased after our first visit to Rosettas. Our waitress was friendly and provided prompt service. She asked the kitchen to make a beet salad which was not on the menu. Omg, words can't describe how tasty the food is. I had the sea food fla diavlo that was outstanding, the home made tomato sauce is to die for. My stepdad has the home made meatballs that were also delicious. Great wine selection and I was very glad that our server was not only very respectful and knew a lot about the menu but you could see she had tattoos and it's really good to see that the restaurant owners don't discriminate against that. Went to eat there on the way home from the new Encore Casino in Boston. Since I was unfamiliar with the area, I decided to check Yelp for a suggestion and found this diamond in the rough. This is not a drive-by but is very quant and clean inside. Most of all, the food was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic and the staff were all very friendly. Two areas to sit: a large dining in the back or a more lively bar area with tall tables and stools up front. 4 stars because of the slightly long time for our meals (to be fair, it was a Saturday evening and its still a new restaurant), but the atmosphere in the meantime made up for it, not to mention the fantastic chicken parm that soon came out. My wife and I shared the fried calamari appetizer, which was very good with a nice marinara-type sauce. We followed that up with the meat lovers pizza. The pizza had a generous amount of toppings and was excellent. It passed my wife's pizza test - she is from Staten Island and knows good pizza. We ate half the pizza and took half home with us so that we'd have enough room for the pappardelle bolognese. We shared the single order and were both happy. The pasta and sauce were tasty and there was a good ratio of sauce to pasta. The owner and our waitress were friendly and welcoming. Came here for the first time this past weekend. This place gets an extra star for being the only real Italian place in town with a good bar. Food-wise: I suspect if you stick to the basics you're ok. My husband's seafood diavalo had a tasty red sauce with perfectly al dente linguini but the seafood was clearly frozen and they smelled and tasted so. My chicken piccata was good and tasty. Pretty good family style restaurant, a little difficult to find parking but there are larger parking lots down the street. We entered from the door on the main street side, which directly leads to the bar area. We were led to a quieter seating area in the back. I came with a few friends and we got truffle fries to share as an appetizer. I got the pappardelle bolognese. I loved the pasta, but not the sauce- the meat in it felt to rough(?) for the texture of the noodles and didn't seem to go with it that well. Otherwise, we had a great time and service was great. The waitress was having a hard time doing separate checks, but thankfully, some of the other wait staff helped her figure it out and they all kindly took the time to help us.
