I have been here before many years ago, always had a great experience. I decided to come here again since I was going to see The Great Gatsby date on date night. As soon as we walked in the staff was very nice asked if we had reservations, to the right you can tell the bar was a happy place people were enjoying. We were seating in the dining room. Beautiful decor as I was remembering. We had our own booth, quiet and very cozy. Wait staff very nice and we wanted burgers and beer. They were delicious 10oz burgers 10/10 mine was cheddar cheese and sautéed onions medium rare and it was definitely with thin sweet potato fries which I loved as well and my boyfriend was their California burger 10/10 medium he asked for onion rings also delicious. Had Blue Moon beer on draft and he had Stella on draft. We were very content I needed a cappuccino afterwards it was so good. Never disappointed when we go to Rosie O Grady's for lunch. The portions are huge & it's always delicious. We arrive at noon and were seated promptly. Just don't. My husband's steak could have been cooked better at home, it looked like something the "cook" tossed aside. The "baked" potato was microwaved. The lava cake suffered from premature eruption and to call the cheesecake a NY cheesecake was an insult. The service was just as bad. Our server was seldom found. We had to ask the busboy for the check. When it arrived, they had the nerve to pre-add an 18% gratuity with a line for an additional tip! An absentee waiter with some nerve for sure. Spending a week in Manhattan and stopped by Rosie O'Grady's after the theater tonight. The place was packed, but we got seated in the bar area and our server, Rory, was the absolute best. He was very accommodating, so friendly and so funny! We appreciate the amazing service and the awesome way that Rory represented the restaurant. Thinking about having dinner here? Don't. The best part of our meal was the bread. The food was either overcooked, bland, or overcooked AND bland. The shepherd's pie was basically ground hamburger meat and mashed potatoes. There was such a lack of flavor I would almost compare it to dog food. The shrimp and scallops on the risotto were so chewy from being overcooked. To top it off, our server was extremely inattentive. Stay away! Unless you're just coming for the bread. read more

Once again Rosie O'Grady's knocks it out of the ballpark. Diego the Maitre D and host is an amazing human being, he and the staff will move heaven and earth to make sure you are well looked after. The food quality is beyond amazing, I recommend the filet mignon, perfectly seasoned and cooked, the chef here puts other so-called high end steak houses in the area to shame. The decor is fantastic, very cozy. The prices aren't bad. Very friendly staff at the bar. I'd like to give the place 6 stars and more! I cannot wait to return! read more

Four of us Went to Rosie O'Grady's for lunch yesterday and ordered 4 burgers , all done Medium . When burgers arrived we all cut into them to find raw burgers , not one but all four . Asked for medium burger and they were sent back and another slice of cheese slapped on top of each one to hide the previous cut burgers. They then all came back well done ! And I mean WELL DONE ! All 4 of them ! One had the original bun which was soaked in raw juice from earlier raw burger. Requested another bun and was given a half a bun. Asked for manager who then sent the owner who apologized and said this never happens but she comped us 2 rounds of drinks and 2 burgers. The comp was very nice but we all would have much preferred to just enjoy our meal and not deal with food being sent back and coming back worse. For it to happen to ALL 4 of us is beyond unacceptable. When we originally walked into the restaurant we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was only to be greatly disappointed at how it turned out . None of us finished our burgers as they were too well done . Also noticed another table of 2 that kept waiving the waiter over and after quite awhile they said can we please just at least get some water while we wait to place our order . Restaurant was not in any way crowded as there were many empty tables . I cannot imagine how it would be if it was crowded. Just take this as fair warning . Again , we did appreciate the comp but it was past the point of no return . read more

It seems that reservations are not taken seriously. We had a reservation for 5:45 PM (in order to go to a show after). We were told it would take about 10 minutes to move tables around and asked us to stand by the wine walls. After 20 minutes I went back and asked about the status. I was told- by the same host- that there are still a lot of people on the floor. Evidently they didn't just need to move tables. We had put our coats on and were about to walk out when we were finally seated...40 minutes after our reservation. The food was good, but we were rushed. There was no time for dessert or an after dinner coffee. We were unable to get the dining experience for which we made a reservation. read more

My friend and I stopped I here unexpectedly when the few restaurants we planned for fell through due to long waits. Since there was a 10 minute or so wait for the upstairs restaurant portion, which mainly served full on dinners, we decided to go downstairs at the recommendation of the host to check out the pub downstairs, which had appetizers drinks, burgers, and sandwiches. My order was simple - chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. My friend ordered the nachos. The chicken tenders came on a bed of greens and a side of honey mustard. I was also brought a bottle of ketchup in a glass bottle (loved the glass bottle). The food was tasty and waa what you would have expected for chicken tenders and sweet potato fries. The chicken tenders were very juicy and the fries are perfectly crispy. My friend loved her nachos also. The bathrooms here were clean but the stalls were very narrow, dark, and small. When the stall door swings open, it's only a few inches away from hitting the toilet itself so you have to do bit of squeezing in. Overall they had a good pub vibe, but wish it was a bit brighter though with some soft lights. They didn't have happy hour when I went, not sure if they normally do...or maybe they only had it at the bar (I asked and was told a firm no but some other reviews suggested they did)? My server, Kathleen, was lovely. I appreciated the hostess seating guests spaciously in the dining area and allowing social distancing for their patrons. Service is timely and you can eat quickly or eat at your leisure. My Maryland Crab Cake Brioche-which was good. I ordered it as part of the price fixe for the day, and everything else I had was just fine. We had a great pre theatre meal here. The service is very good but not overly engaging. They take your order, deliver the food and drinks and stay out of the way. We shared a Caesar salad. Delicious and a good move between three people. I had the shrimp and scallop risotto. The shellfish was prepared excellently with wonderful seasonings. The risotto has large chunks of peppers and onions with a good flavor. Just ever so slightly underdone which I prefer to overcooked and mushy. We shared some creme brûlée and a wonderful cup of coffee for dessert. Get the coffee! We were out in plenty of time for our show. I also stopped in another night into the pub downstairs and sat at the bar. Very busy, loud, boisterous and fun. They had live music which added to the party. This place was so good. From the outside I thought it was a small bar - but it was actually a really nice restaurant. I was in the area and was hungry and ended up stopping by here. I tried the salmon, steak and fish and chips. All of the food was amazing - it was definitely more of an upscale restaurant. I'm so glad I came here and that I found this place. It is a hidden gem. Meh. We thought we found a perfect dinner spot since it was literally down the street from our show. We got a table outside which was nice! We each tried the 3 course meal since it seemed like the best deal. First our waiter brought out cold bread and almost frozen butter. I didn't eat any of it since it was almost inedible. For appetizer I ordered the French onion soup. Prob the best thing I ate for my meal. Broth is tasty with tons of cheese and croutons. Delish but not ideal on a humid summer night. We each got a sirloin for our entree. We all wanted medium rare. We all got medium well or basically well done. The steaks had no flavor to them and was pretty dry since they were overcooked. I only ate the pink parts of the steak. We were going to send them back but we're afraid to be late to our show. We told the waiter who told the manager and he took a round of drinks off our bill which was nice. For dessert I got the cheesecake. It was bleh. Overall underwhelmed and disappointed. I think I was better off ordering just the soup then spend 45$ on this unappetizing meal. Should have listened to the reviews and stayed away! read more
