My company hosted their annual end of year party here earlier this week and this venue was nothing short of amazing. From the time we stepped foot in the door the party was on. Smack dab in the center of Times Square is Rosie O's Manhattan Club. This is a gastropub downstairs and a lavish dining hall upstairs with a stellar view of Times Square. This place as beautifully decorated for winter. White tree branches and lots of glitter and glam. Very chic yet classic. The bartenders are ultra skilled here. My margarita was STRONG and many of my coworkers took full advantage of the open bar. The appetizers were passed like a wedding reception. Steak tid bits, bacon wrapped chicken, just a plethora of menu items I can't even remember!!!! Dinner was nothing short of the best. They pulled out all the stops. Filet Mignon, roast turkey, stuffing, salmon, ravioli, fresh vegetables, antipasta board. The food was fabulous ! Dessert was this amazing banana custard cake that was heavenly. Assorted tea and other fine pastries. This seems to be a great venue for a wedding reception. A stellar view of Manhattan from the roof. I would most definitely return. read more

Came in for lunch and I am very pleased with the service and quality of the food. It was my first time seeing and coming into this restaurant and I'm so happy I did. The second I walked in I was taken care of. Everything is super clean and organized. The environment is quiet and comfortable, good for eating with family or friends. Rosie O'Grady's is an upscale yet wonderfully comfortable pub with a great lunch menu. My friend works nearby & suggested we meet here, as this is his & his co-workers' "go-to spot" when they go out for lunch. He also told me after our meal that the food here is consistently good. Since he's worked within a few blocks of this restaurant for more than 10 years, I trust his recommendation! AND, in the greater Times Square area, consistency can be a challenge. I was torn between the Cuban panini and burger.... But ultimately chose the burger. I still kinda wish I'd sampled how a Times Square pub interprets a Cuban, albeit in a panini, but I think it was around $15 so I went with a more reliable entree for about the same price. Cooked medium-rare as I requested, I did not regret ordering this huge burger! The accompanying fries were also on point. I could not finish everything on my plate! Our server was very attentive, keeping our drinks topped off & clearing the table. The restaurant was quiet, but we were there after 1pm on a weekday, so that could have explained the emptiness of the restaurant. The ladies' bathroom was large & clean, too. The only thing this place has going for it was it just happened to be right across the street from my hotel. I had the $14 Caesar salad which was so small it looked like a side salad. Then I had the fish and chips which also looked like a child's portion, $27 - truly rIdiculous AND they overcooked the 3 miniature fillets as well. The lamb chops, 3 of them, which my GF got were also slightly overdone as well. I would basically NEVER go back to this place for their expensive and undersized portions. We were in New York recently enjoying the holiday splendor, but after walking a while we got pretty cold and so we decided to stop in somewhere for a drink. Rosie O'Grady's hit the spot...mostly because we lucked out and got a table in the bar area (it looks like there might be a downstairs lounge also, but it was closed on this day). Bar menu was acceptable. Range of beers ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. Service was decent. Atmosphere cozy. It's in a peak tourist area and so that comes with a lot of tourists. This place is so awesome. I've always wanted to come here but I had no idea it would so thoroughly surpass my expectations. Let's start with the menu - I didn't imagine that it would be so extensive, nor that it would have anything but bar food - French Fries, chicken strips, maybe a wing or two - no way, this was fantastic! A couple pages of deliciousness, I had to read it to my pregnant sister so she could eat vicariously. I was torn between the crab cake brioche or the swordfish club. WHAT?! Got the club and it rocked, the swordfish was delicious- steaky, flaky, and fresh. My husband got the steak sandwich with onion rings which sounds like it might belong in a bar but no, the steak was so flavorful and tender, you could cut it with a spoon. I had to dig in a couple times myself, and the onion rings were perfectly breaded and the ideal combo of crispy and firm. I kind of finished them. The hostess was very nice and the waitress was excellent, deserved every penny of tip. And to think, we only came inside because of Bugs Bunny. My husband is obsessed and has sang the Bugs Bunny rendition of Daughter of Rosie O'Grady MANY times. We shall return. Wholeheartedly recommend! read more

We were in town with our friends and they HIGHLY recommended this place. So we told them go ahead and make the reservation. We were seated immediately and our server was friendly and attentive. I will say the reason I gave this place 2 stars was only for the service. The service was great! On the other hand, the food was left to be desired. The bread was free but cold. At least heat it up for the patrons. My wife's steak tips were supposed to be medium rare but they ended up being medium. She sent it back and it came back rare but when she let it sit for a few minutes, it was more medium rare but still on the red side ( as I am writing this review a few days later, my wife is getting over food poision from this place as she just threw up the steak she had from Saturday night. She said she has been sick since that dinner.) I made the mistake of getting crab cakes (well maybe not now). These were "supposed to be" Maryland jumbo lump crab cakes. There was nothing jumbo or lump about the crab cakes. It was backfin and full of filler as they were fried with panko crust. For $30.00 and advertised as JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKES, this is a crime. False advertising. Plus, I waited an extra 10 mins after everyone else got their food. Desserts were okay. So pretty much we will never come back again under any circumstances. Overpriced average to below average food but with great service. Try if you dare but you are better off saving hundred bucks eating at the food cart across the street. It's halal too! read more

Marketed as a steak and seafood house. This restaurant really only had 4 seafood entre's (2 were fish). I got the 8oz filet and some french onion soup. The filet wasnt very good at all, very tough.. I noticed a bottle of A1 steak sauce on another table... which tells me others have the same feeling. so embarrassing to see a bottle of that in a place that serves 50 dollar steaks.. The french onion soup on the other hand was amazing. One of the best french onion soups ive ever had. the service was below average. no mention of specials , no mention of wines.. just an order taker.. she was very nice .. but. that and keeping drinks filled was pretty much the totality of the talent offered. definitely would return for the soup ! read more

Great location! Steps away from time square and a few minutes from the theatre district. What a great ambience and music (90's rock) plays softly in the background in the dining area (bar is located downstairs). I enjoyed the grilled shrimp risotto ($31.95). The shrimp were huge, scrumptious, and very well seasoned. The risotto was good and paired well with the shrimp. It was a Medium sized portion that leaves you content. My husband had the Prix dinner ($41) includes various appetizer choices. He chose calamari and for his entree the NY strip steak (medium rare) with fries and veggies. He loved it! His choice of dessert was the cheesecake, with a strawberry drizzle and whip cream on the side. The cheesecake was average nothing to write home about. I gave this restaurant 5 stars overall, because its got a great location, prices are reasonable for its location, its clean and well maintained, great music/ambience and friendly staff. This review is for their New Years Eve party. My husband and I booked the Manhattan Club this past NYE. For about $500 per person this party is TOTALLY worth it! I was really impressed with the drink service. Servers were constantly coming to our table the entire night with drinks. The drink orders came out very fast! I drank delicious Chandon sparkling wine all night which is one of my faves. The food also was really good! There was many courses including bread, salad, crab cake, prime filet for our entrees (actually was quite good which I wasn't expecting for such a large event) and multiple kinds of desserts. I think Rosie's did a great job pairing us up with a table of other guests. Everyone was so friendly and easy to talk to. It wasn't awkward and it felt like we were at a table with friends. The Manhattan Club was perfect as it was more for family and couples versus the other floors for singles. People definitely got their dance on, and the DJ was very good, but it wasn't a total drunken rave shit show. It was still classy. About twenty minutes before the ball dropped, they had us go outside to an area in front of the restaurant roped off for the restaurant guests. Because there weren't as many people in Times Square (probably because it was -4 "feels like -11" and one of the coldest NYE in New York history) we actually were able to move up much closer to the ball. Our view was quite good! We definitely got a clear view of the ball and the time count down and fireworks once the ball dropped. We were not close enough to hear music or get the confetti though. Still, for $500 this felt justified! Getting into and out of time square was pretty easy. We walked both ways as taking transportation is pretty impossible because the roads are blocked off. You definitely have to go through many police checkpoints to reach the restaurant but as long as we showed our tickets it was smooth sailing. There is a separate entrance area into time square for restaurant reservations. Do not for the love of god wait in the line for general admission to times square! We kept walking past the general admission area and found a MUCH shorter line for restaurant reservations. If you're confused where to go, just as the police and they can point you in the right direction. Do not bring huge bags or purses. I brought a small purse which was not questioned. But less is definitely more! As far as attire, it really was a broad range. I wrote nice black pants and a festive top with black boots easy for walking (as well as full on winter gear over top). I was more concerned with being comfortable and warm than fashion forward. I did see some ladies wear heels and dresses but they looked very uncomfortable. Men wore jeans but also some were more dressed up. Overall I think Rosie's is a major win for NYE! Seeing the ball drop in person was on my bucket list and having reservations somewhere with food, drink and indoor seating for the majority of the night with exclusive outdoor area for watching the ball drop was perfect! I would highly recommend this to someone looking for something similar. The price was very fair for all you get! I know Rosie's does a lottery system to get tickets so make sure to start checking early (like in the fall) so you don't miss out! read more

The worst service I have had in years...asked for tea which was on the menu, however was told no tea. Ordered Chicken Alfredo was told need to see if chef will prepare it. Chef apparently could make it...on the menu. It was cold. Two different servers male server would not stop lurking. I finally had to tell him when a member of my party was finished she would move plate away. Not a friendly staff except for the guy who actually brought the food out. A group that i work with and I had gone to see a play in the area and we usually go out to eat after the matinee. This time, we went to Rosie's-we had been there before but it had been a few years. The time for the reservation was 4:45p but the play ended earlier and they made every effort to seat us early. We were seated towards the back-on the side so we had a certain amount of privacy which was nice. Menus were handed out and the waiters took our drink orders. After our drinks arrived and we had time to look over the menu, we placed our meal orders. We were so busy talking that I did not have a chance to see what other people had ordered although I did see that some people had ordered burgers which looked very good. The waiters were very attentive and accommodating, checking on us periodically to see if we needed anything else and wanted more drinks. It was an excellent afternoon with friends and a good meal. I came here for dinner while in town on business. Many good choices, but I opted for a Caesar salad to start, and the filet mignon medallions, medium rare. Expecting them to be the usual coin size, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were huge! Three mini filets, but at good value. I needed a family friendly place to go with my kids after visiting the American Girl store with them for their birthdays. We made a reservation on opentable, and my children were treated like royalty. The host was amazing and friendly, the wait staff was excellent, the food was beyond good, and the prices were VERY reasonable. The host noticed on my opentable reservation that it was a birthday occasion, and asked me discretely who's birthday it was. The waitstaff brought my children each a slice of cake and they did not even charge us! I would have gladly paid for the cake! My filet was amazing, my daughters steak was amazing, heck even the kids meal was amazing (who makes chicken fingers from scratch??!? Rosie o Grady's does that's who.) My children are very very picky and particular eaters despite my best efforts and it was all I could do to keep them from eating so fast that they made themselves sick. Everything was awesome. We walked in one night and we were greeted very nicely and enthusiastically and seated right away. Our party wasn't complete-- not a problem. We were having "only" some drinks and apps-- again not a problem and our server was great and didn't rush us or make it a problem. So right off the bat that already is awesome. (Sad to say in other places we would get a sigh or some eye-rolling). Now onto the meal. We did end up getting several rounds of drinks. My Manhattan and Old Fashioned were very good and there were no complaints from the others. I a half dozen Blue Point Oysters as well with a classic presentation and they were decent. The other apps were fine, including the sweet potato fries, and we had the cheesecake and warm chocolate lava cake as well, both were good. Again I appreciate that the server let us stay as long on a Saturday night without rushing us and was definitely attentive and polite.
