My Bride and I, having just exited CDH from nasty Medical follow-ups, decided to take an alternate route home, it being a beautiful sunny late February day. We saw the retro sign, and dove into the parking lot. An excellent experience. This indeed is a "Family Owned Restaurant" - the kind you seldom see anymore. You know... the kind where the Owner greets you at the door, the staff is friendly and glad you came, the cooks 'on the Line' in back are well dressed and smiling, and everyone seems to be working toward making their Guests welcome and well-fed. God, I miss that culture! We ordered a couple items from their well-rounded Menu. Both were delightful. I had a Mexican Omelette - the best I've had since 2018, when my local Diner in Lisle closed. Today's Omelette was HOT (temperature-wise), with some Jalapeños that themselves carried some (just right!) spiciness to 'em. The Staff was very pleasant, chatted with us a bit, and certainly made us feel welcomed. When we left, carrying some fresh Pie for later, my Bride and I both simultaneously agreed- from now on, after a bout of Poking, Prodding and Snipping at Northwestern Hospital, we'll be stopping at Seven Dwarfs for dome rejuvenation. I pass by this restaurant all the time, but only today did my hubby and I go there for lunch. This is truly a mom & pop/ family restaurant, just like the Verdict Restaurant on the other side of Wheaton. It has been around since the 1950's, and the father figure has worked here 49 years! On the wall behind the cashier are photos of regular customers and celebrities who love Seven Dwarfs, including John Belushi who once worked here! You get a large menu with so many choices! My hubby chuckled when I order the corned beef on hash browns skillet because he wanted the same thing! The serving was large; I had to take half of mine home. The staff checks on you like your family. They walk around the restaurant with the confidence that their customers are happy eating the delicious food. No rush to get you out and vacate your table, like Egglectic's and Egg Harbor's MO. And no noisy latest pop or rap music playing loudly. We had a very pleasant Sunday brunch "date." read more

We don't get to stop as often as before but we look forward to anytime we can go there. I have been going to this place since i was in high school. The same owners are there as Sam and his wife are very nice people and make you feel as if you are family. To me this is important that we are just not people who mean nothing to them. They give you the feeling that no matter who you are you are welcome. My wife and i celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary as this is the place i took her when we were dating. Seven Dwarfs has been open for almost 70 years! They offer Pepsi products and offer a wide variety of foods (see menu photos). Service is excellent, and the ambiance for staff and customers is quite casual. The place is all decorated in The Seven Dwarfs theme, with added fall/pumpkin decorations. We have recently refound Seven Dwarfs and we are loving it! Very clean interior. Great waitress's and owner is wonderful! Food has been really good! We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all meals have been home cooked, not just warmed up or microwaved entrees French onion soup is my husband's favorite. I love the chicken noodle soup. The classic French dip is great with tender beef. Lamb shank was luscious Pita club really good and pork chops were good also Good food for good value. It's my new go to restaurant. Seven Dwarfs is not fine dining. But it is a great experience and the food is top notch. Even more, the staff is very specific to Wheaton and if you want an authentic experience for the Wheaton area, I don't know where else you could go. I loved every moment in the restaurant and every bite of my "Albanian skillet" with rye toast. SO good! I have only a couple more days in Chicago and I plan to go back because I loved just being there so much. Everyone who came in was greeted by name (while I was there) and the owner, Sam, made me feel welcome and appreciated even though he had just met me. I encourage everyone (especially Belushi fans--he worked here as a teenager) to give Seven Dwarfs a try--you won't find anything like it in the city. read more

Traditional restaurant with updated menu. Three adult family members gathered here a few days ago to catch up on life. Our experience was terrific! I ordered the Garden Omelet, which was chock full of fresh vegetables. I opted to skip the cheese. The plate was rounded out by freshly cut chunks of fresh fruit and a lettuce garnish. The coffee? Good. One of the criteria I use to rate a restaurant is how clean the restrooms are. In my mind, clean restaurant = clean kitchen. No question here, VERY clean. The service was warm and friendly. We had an excellent breakfast at Seven Dwarfs! We used to live in Wheaton, 30 years ago, and decided to go for the first time since we moved. The owner greeted us and was so friendly! He's been there 46 years. I had an Albanian omelette which was absolutely delicious. Gyros meat, thick sliced and sautéed up with onions, tomatoes, and other things. My husband had the house omelette, and also liked it. I totally recommend Seven Dwarfs! (And the prices are very reasonable.) Nice diner atmosphere. read more

I heard about this restaurant on talk radio WRMN 1410AM in Elgin, Il. So I stopped by to try it out yesterday. The hostess seated me immediately, this restaurant has two full dining rooms plus a counter that customers can sit at to eat. The place was exceptionally clean and the service was courteous. For my dinner selection, I had the special which was Short Ribs. It came with a bowl of beef barley soup. The meal was delicious. I will definitely re-visit this location again. Highly recommended. Arrived about 10:00 a.m. was busy. We were seated right away. Have not been there since around 1970, was as I remembered as a child. Neat things to look at. Lots of 7 Dwarf themed murals and pictures. Owner George and server was very nice. Ham and cheese omelet was really good and full of gooey cheese. Very outdated but they are following social distancing guidelines. Service from our waitress was good. The food was ok, the fruit I received for a side was not worth the swap from hash browns. See picture of fruit, disappointing! We asked to not be charged for the watered down OJ that came from a bottle and the owner acted like I didn't even mention the OJ being horrible tasting. Well, everything was exceedingly average from the service to the ice cream to the food.The prices were pretty good as you get a ton of food with your order... It's just that the food wasn't that good. I ordered the turkey club, which came with soup. I got the lentil soup, which was good. The sandwich was average and didn't have much flavor. It tasted really plain, even with the mayo and bacon. My dad ordered the burger, which was also very average. The major disappointment was the kids' chicken tenders that I ordered for my toddler. I honestly couldn't even feed it to her because it was so tough that I was afraid she was going to choke. It was completely disgusting. I can't believe they let it out. We also decided to get some desert because there was a soda fountain. I just got a scoop of chocolate ice cream, which was good, obviously, as it was just chocolate ice cream. My parents got the root beer float, which was flat and super disappointing. They definitely had some regulars, and the staff was very nice and friendly, but the food was bad to average, and the good service just isn't enough to come back or recommend anyone trying it out. read more

The ticket says they want to know if the food isn't good but that's not necessarily the case. We've had good meals there in the past so today we went there for breakfast. Our pancakes were cold so we sent them back. The waitress didn't ask about the rest of the meal which ended up being cold also. The pancakes came back out and were very dry. So for 25.00 we had a lousy breakfast. We told the gentleman that we paid and he could have cared less. We won't be back. read more

Wow, this place is really dedicated to its theme! There is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves art and memorabilia everywhere, not the least of which is the amazing vintage neon sign! This would be a magical place to bring your favorite Disney-princess-obsessed kid. When my Prince Charming and I were there late on a Saturday night (it closes at 9; we arrived about 7:30 pm) there were no kids, just a handful of people who probably eat there with some frequency. The restaurant consists of two rooms, and we were seated in the second one (with only one other person at the time). There is a Snow-White-Themed mural in each room and a lot of other art to look at, too! The menu is surprisingly sizeable (though it doesn't seem to be posted on their web site?) including an array of Greek dishes, breakfast all day, and soda-fountain items with whimsical names like The Magic Kiss, The Witch's Brew and The Scarlet Queen. My prince and I both went for breakfast items: Nutella crepes for me and silver dollar pancakes and bacon for him. My crepes were delicious: eggy and crisp, rather like Polish nalesniki, and didn't skimp on the Nutella! He was pleased with his pancakes as well. We had friendly service from our waitress and the hostess, even though the night was winding down. Definitely a fanciful little spot to stop at if you're in Wheaton! read more

Went into the restaurant about 1:22pm. An old battle axe stood in front of the inside . As soon as we walked into the restaurant, she informed us we had to be finished eating by 1:45 pm because on Mondays they close early. The store has posted outside its hours; they close at 2pm. She stood there, with an expression on her face that said it all. No smile, no greeting, no I'm sorry but .... Even if she is the owner, it was rude and at that moment her customer service skills sucked. We were definitely not welcomed I've eaten here before, liked it, nothing great but good.
